Well now Mr. Holmes Hobbies let me be the first to say that Back In My Day we never had any of these fancy schmancy motor things to run our crawlers with , no sir. We pushed them up hill and down hill by hand and were happy to do so. We also never used servos to turn our rigs around who needs that, after all that's part of the reason were were given fingers, just reach under and turn those little wheels by hand. All of these super strong, reliable, efficient, smooth, well engineered and designed products that you and your company are bringing out aint doing the industry any good, no sir ,chaos is all I see, pure chaos so shame on you. Ok rant over, now if you will excuse me I think I see some kids and they look like they're up to no good................Hey you damm kids, get off my lawn. Gotta love a company that's always looking forward to help improve the hobby for us all, Thanks for that John. : )
Thanks, I can't wait for your V3 esc combo...silent edition. I bought an Element kit on black Friday but swear not to break into it before I finish my current build on my bench. Test away, I'll be waiting...
Lol I just got and installed my V2 revolver like 4 days ago! I should've waited. The new mounting points will be nice cause I did have to do some finagling and wire bending to get it mounted without the wires being smashed. Excited to hear about the new ESC!
Great!!! Once again Mr out doing the the hobby. Now, I have to get a V3 but I'll wait till you'll provide it with that (prototype) esc. Thx for some awesome products Mr. Rock on 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I found this hobby at a great point in the evolution of technology... Imagine receiving candy from John on Halloween. 'TRICK OR TREAT!' 'Do you know what a seed is?!'
Hey sir, When are you gonna make your own transmissions for us!? I bet you can make one so raw! Love my 21 turn . My crawler is so raw now I gotta buy a different one so I could put your brushless system in it!
Which part will go up in smoke first when running 4s battery on a 14pole 1800kv snubnose revolver v3 and crawlmaster esc v2? Are we talking insta smoke on plug in or oops too much amps for too long and smoked it? motor windings overheating or mosfet magic smoke release?
Most or if not all plants also have photo receptors. They discovered that when a plant known for replicating other plants was able to perfectly replicate a fake plastic plant, and no way of doing that as plastic has no biological connection with real plants lol
Okay I have a scx10.2 that I made into a belly dragger. Looking hard for the right revolver motor for it for the real slow crawling at start up. I run 2, 3s 1500 to 7000 mah batteries. What do I need please or should I wait till you get the new one out. I also have the new servo 56kg from Kaz from you tube. Looking for another great motor like the brushless crawl master
I run an original type 1800kv Revolver before the v2 paired to a Castle Sidewinder 4 .. have there been any changes to help the start up ? I run 2s lipos if that matters or would a 3s lipo help the slow moving start up ? I did a tune like your original video but tweeked the curve to be flatter for the beginning some to try and get a super slow start up without motor quivering and have the torque to get over something with cruise control on my TRX4 Bronco turned and adjusted way down . . I'd like to have it almost like a furitek setup in a scx24 how it can be barely moving and still climb without stalling and motor quivering if that makes sense
I've got my new Revolver in garbage truck all ready to go. Just need some way to put power to it. I've got and old 5 step mosfet mechanical, you think that might work?
I just bought your lil tugger 38t and have paired it with the HW 1080 ESC and will be putting into the king Kong RC ca30 truck as a standard 540 motor won't fit as it hits the steering servo,do you think this set up will work well in this truck
Can you please recommend me one or two of your Motors for a Vanquish VS4-10 Phoenix Portal Kit, motor and gear please? I was thinking in a Crawlmaster Pro 13T o a Puller Pro V2 Standard 2200KV but I'm not sure if they are a good choice or if I will need a reverse rotation motor.
@holmeshobbies I have a dilemma, my mamba decoded not to work the other day it was working perfectly fine eight before I went to go on a trail run, though maybe it was the power switch cause they like to fail bit I've soldered together and it's still not turning on, like no power at all, and no smell of burnt electronics can you help me pretty pleas
Hi Mr.Holmes! Is it possible to run a brushed motor on the Castle Copperhead and if so is there any benefit over running it brushless?? Thank You for the info you've shared over the years!!
Right now I'm running a Torquemaster Magnum and BR/XL esc, but I really want to try a higher kv Revolver setup in my Element. It's mainly a trail truck and weighs in at about 7lbs. Which of the 3 revolvers would you suggest? the classic is the one I'm leaning toward, preferably a 2500kv. I've also got 20% o.d. in the front axle.
Any thoughts about using 380 sized outrunner in trail truck like mst cfx with rc4wd hilux with 3s lipo? Calculations show that this sized motor will provide the same level of torque as 540 brushed (say 35t). Any way I'll try, just want to hear your opinion.
Ok I've got a few questions. I'm building a gspeed v3 chassis. What motor would you choose? V3 revolver with a micro x until the little esc is available again. Or 11t crawl master magnum with a brxl. I want the best of the best for this build. I have puller pros, revolvers, and lord knows how many sealed can motors. I don't have any top notch brushed motors yet though.
Hello! I dont know if this is a stupid question or if you have talked about it already, but how come the "spokes" of the outrunner are never made like a propeller to pull cooling air into the motor? Best regards/Andreas
They can be, but machining requires a 5 axis and is expensive. The spokes move air almost just as well. And since we spend so much time at low rpm, forced air is not so effective in a crawler.
I am playing right now with V2 subnose and copperhead 10. The performance just amazes me. And here comes a question, I would like to shorten V2 subnose wires. Can I cut them? And if so then is there minimal length?
Are they water proof My son flipped our bully 2 into the only puddle today and submerged it. It has Holmes hobbies Torquemaster dual mini ESC, Holmes Hobbies Torquemaster Expert 35t motors and a Holmes Hobbies SHV500 servo. Are all these water proof. I had a burning smell out of the motor a little after I cleaned it off and shook all the water off as fast as possible. I dried it and let it bake in the sun for a few minutes. I want to upgrade now but we run into water at key city hobby and a few other site when running. Thanks. Love the cool products

I remember, and they were heavy, and had square wheels.
Hah have fun
@@brianellison3525 wait..... yalls had wheels?!?!?!?
Hi!!!
Just NEED the CRAWL MASTER MINI!
Got two rigs on the bench waiting FOR YOUR ESC. Been waiting for it quite a few months.
Thx JOHN
I always enjoy when you get into the details like back iron thicknesses and how that effects performance.
I'll be doing an in depth motor guide that really talks about those sorts of details
@@HolmesHobbies Looking forward to it John.
Love the ending, mind blown 😂

That was the problem I had in my element but made do can't wait for new one keep up great work and have wonderful day.
Good work John! I love seeing your new creations. Keep up the awesome work!
Top notch stuff as usual. Highly recommend Holmes Hobbies to everyone
Definitely interested in the Revolver/ESC combo.
I just ordered one today so hopefully I will be back up and running soon.
Its great to see the improvements on already great products! Nicely done!
Awesome 🤟 🤙 🤜🤛 👍upgrades & knew! Lmbo, outro!
Damn. Better drag brake. My v2 1800 holds perfectly still on a hill already. Crazy to think u can get more lol. Well done sir
YES SEED KNOWLEDGE!
I also purchased the revolver motor waiting on the ESC. UPDATE would be nice.
Very nice love your motors and your staff that helps. Great people at Holmes Hobbies
damnit! lol i just bought a v2! i have been refreshing webpage for an ESC drop daily lol
I'll take one of those combos! or five

'TRICK OR TREAT!'
'Do you know what a seed is?!'
Awesome!!! I'll have the new stubnose v3 tomorrow.
Love the V3, fits with a Vanquish VFD transmission now.
Puller sensored would be cool with esc imbedded or in combination
Mind blown! Seeds... Who knew?
Awsome you keep improving already amazing motors. I have two V2's and love them.
Hey sir, When are you gonna make your own transmissions for us!?
I bet you can make one so raw!
Love my 21 turn .
My crawler is so raw now I gotta buy a different one so I could put your brushless system in it!
Great . 👍
Love it! How about a smaller than the 280 revolver? Like a 12 to 15 sized outrunner?
I have a tow rig. Any chance there is a big block revolver in the works? 😁
Can you maybe do a video on the noise with a micro x please please please lol
Which part will go up in smoke first when running 4s battery on a 14pole 1800kv snubnose revolver v3 and crawlmaster esc v2? Are we talking insta smoke on plug in or oops too much amps for too long and smoked it? motor windings overheating or mosfet magic smoke release?
When the new Crawlmaster esc go live down the road can I use my castle B-link to program it?
Do a combo and ill buy 3 to ship to AUS the minute they are released!!!

Is there a video about how this design makes sensored brushless unnecessary for things like drag brake?
Any updates on the revolver/esc combo? Also what's you best quiet smooth revolver setup for a single speed trx4
I need the crawlmaster esc
I run an original type 1800kv Revolver before the v2 paired to a Castle Sidewinder 4 .. have there been any changes to help the start up ? There was a study that suggests trees communicate through there roots.
Sign me up for one of those sets Mr Holmes!~
If only I could get an esc to run one of those
Would that 2700kv work with the Furitek Lizard TEN 60A/100A thanks for any help
I have a 10 pounds trx4, does the revolver v3 2500 10p good enough? Thanks
If use 4s lipo on Sunbnoes v3 1800kv which can accept that ?
How about the new controller?
John can we get a restock of esc’s PLEASE !
I've got my new Revolver in garbage truck all ready to go. Just need some way to put power to it.
I've got and old 5 step mosfet mechanical, you think that might work?
I really enjoy your videos and products but I’m having a heck of a time finding a crawl master mini Esc, any ideas on how to obtain one?
Are you going to have more crawlmaster mini esc on the site soo.
Do you have any videos on the classic revolver??
Y otra duda para es, 540ss o V3 1800kv? Gracias.
I just bought your lil tugger 38t and have paired it with the HW 1080 ESC and will be putting into the king Kong RC ca30 truck as a standard 540 motor won't fit as it hits the steering servo,do you think this set up will work well in this truck
Better hold on! Get it?
I just scooped the v3 revolver snubnose!! What would be the best esc to pair it with? Mamba, mamba micro, or??
Any of those, or the crawlmaster v2 which we will have restocked in a few weeks
when will the V3 be released? i was about to order a V2 and then i saw this
i don´t want to make it too complicated, but could it be possible make some "caned" outrunner motor, to be protected from elements? ;))
Yeah. But more cost effective and lighter to just put a shroud on em
Soy de España y no entiendo muy bien? En conclusión, merece la pena el V3 frente al V2? Gracias
Is it done yet I want one
Can you please recommend me one or two of your Motors for a Vanquish VS4-10 Phoenix Portal Kit, motor and gear please? I was thinking in a Crawlmaster Pro 13T o a Puller Pro V2 Standard 2200KV but I'm not sure if they are a good choice or if I will need a reverse rotation motor.
Both good choices. It is reverse rotation.
I like the noise in the v2 stub nose 1400kv. if I buy v3 1800kV stub nose and hook it up to tekin rx4 will I still get the noise?
Yes
Why is this not available in Europe?
Can this motor handle 4s?
@holmeshobbies I have a dilemma, my mamba decoded not to work the other day it was working perfectly fine eight before I went to go on a trail run, though maybe it was the power switch cause they like to fail bit I've soldered together and it's still not turning on, like no power at all, and no smell of burnt electronics can you help me pretty pleas
No lights either? Unplug the sensor wire and also your servo from the radio and see if it boots
Hi Mr.Holmes! Is it possible to run a brushed motor on the Castle Copperhead and if so is there any benefit over running it brushless?? Thank You for the info you've shared over the years!!
Yeah, but it's overkill and sort of a waste of space.
Haha tiny little seeds 🤯
how bout a sensored hand-built tuned drag motor?
I dont drag race, kinda hard to want to build something I won't use.
@@HolmesHobbies makes sense, I still love & only use your crawler motors in my 5 crawlers... 👍🏼
Why does my V3 jump at full throttle ?

2500kv standard. Or go puller pro 2700 for a little more efficient and cool running.
Any thoughts about using 380 sized outrunner in trail truck like mst cfx with rc4wd hilux with 3s lipo? Calculations show that this sized motor will provide the same level of torque as 540 brushed (say 35t). Any way I'll try, just want to hear your opinion.
The 380v2 will have no problems at all
Looks great. Any info on a SHV800 V2?
Not yet. V1 will still be offered a while
@@HolmesHobbies Ah, OK. I think the 650 is probably overkill enough... for now. :) (I tend to over power everything)
Ok I've got a few questions. I'm building a gspeed v3 chassis. What motor would you choose? V3 revolver with a micro x until the little esc is available again. Or 11t crawl master magnum with a brxl. Shorter wires are actually better😉
Short as you want
Yeah i got a question...where do baby's come from? Haha
2500 kv v3 in 540?
What's a good motor/ESC combo you have for a SCX10.3 Gladiator? Something with a little speed, but still has torque.
2700 puller pro 540 and copperhead
Thank you. Now time to go see Pilot Ryan at his store to put it on my list.
I picked up a Devolver a couple years ago and I’m wondering if thise also can handle 4s?
Typically, yea
What’s the difference between 14 and 10 pole
4 magnets
10 pole runs more efficient at high rpm. 14 pole has better torque density. in the higher kv it is best to be 10 pole.
SEEDS!
WEEDS!
Are the V3 waterproof ?
revolvers are not waterproofed
You should send me one of those revolver esc combos for testing since I seem to be really good a killing the cm esc
patiently waiting for Crawlmaster esc and V3 revolver to drop
So no 1000kv V3 Revolver?
Nay, not until we sell current stock. And they never sell.
@@HolmesHobbies thanks for the response. I figured they may not sell well. I grabbed one of the V2's.
I'd love to help you test your new stuff.
I thought that it would be something more like a fetus and less like a homunculus but it seems that you’re saying otherwise….
Are they water proof
