  • Ten years ago today, on May 13, 2013, steam engine Nickel Plate 765 steamed across the Pittsburgh Line, heading east on a deadhead move. There was a crowd of at least a hundred people in Derry awaiting 765 coming through. If I recall correctly, it was a chilly afternoon and the train was late getting out of Conway. This was the train that really got me into railroad photography. I had been videoing trains on and off over the past few months before this, and had scouted out some interesting locations, but never really photographed anything. Just a few days prior, I purchased my first point and shoot camera to prepare for this move. While my photo and video aren't that impressive, I'm happy I got to see this move. Hard to believe a decade has passed since then. Here's a cleaned up, re-edited and slightly improved video than the one that I had uploaded previously. Enjoy! Filmed May 13, 2013.
