    I love this channel. Wonderful interaction between the two instructors. This lesson was informational for sure. I would like to see a lesson/explanation on how the swing with the trail foot moved back away from the target line. It helps make a better turn away from the target increasing force on the hit. Any advice making a swing that way? Thanks.

      That can definitely help with backswing rotation, but that does not guarantee a better impact. Have you been doing this in your swing? How have the results been?

    Gentlemen, that was gold! It has never occurred to me that the chest can rotate to some degree independent of the where the shoulder/arms appear to be. Working your drill was a revelation, which led to a (for me anyway) a feel of leaving the shoulders square while rotating everything else underneath into the lead side wall. (I wonder if that was what is what the old time adage to hit with a firm lead side meant?) Bye bye spinning shoulders, hello cleaned up impact. Did I mention that was gold? Heck that was platinum! Cleared up a what had been mystery for me, thanks a ton!

  • @MrMikeRodriguez
    @MrMikeRodriguez Před 3 lety

    In some other videos by AMG I took the “chest and hips open at same time” a bit too literally I think. I’ve been struggling coming in at the correct angle when I open hips/chest seemingly well. What is crucial that I haven’t considered is the shoulders themself need to stay more closed a bit longer coming down. It feels like I need to actively sort of make sure my shoulder line stays closed to square’ish up until impact. Then I can let it all go.
    So the feeling shown here of hips and chest/ribs getting open while shoulder stay square is really a key thing for me. If I don’t focus on that, I have no separation and I have poor shot quality.

    Hey guys, great video again with a lot of good info! Actually I am struggeling with a very open hip at impact. When looking at videos it seems its even more than 45°. Meanwhile I think this is one of my key issues why I am struggeling to hit the ball solid. I am facing a lot of scooping the ball, with hands being flippy. I would like to get more compression to the ball, lower ball flights as well. Thats why I am having often fat shots and a ballflight to the left. Also I am seeing my right foot coming a lot of the ground before impact, propably because of my "fast" hip.
    So its kind of the opposit what you just explained but can you maybe give some tips for this issue? Think also a lot of very young players are facing the same issue.

      @AthleticMotionGolf  Před rokem

      Watching any video won’t allow you to make a change a full speed. The process to the change you want is to take the info from the video (one at a time) and make enough slow speed swings until you can’t do wrong, then add the next piece, and so on. There is a ton of reps that must be made between video and seeing it a full speed. If you aren’t seeing it at full speed it just means you haven’t ingrained the necessary movements.
