My Grandad served at Redmires Camp (just beyond The Three Merry Lads) during the war. He'd been torpedoed in the North Sea, so his body was battered, and lucky to be alive - one of only three men to make it. Then posted to less physical duties in Sheffield. He became friends with one of the Italian PoW's, who made my Grandad a ship in a bottle as a present - a kindof symbol of their newly found friendship. It has the British and Italian flags, and at the top of the mast my Nana's name, "Joan". I absolutely treasure it.

And this is why he will never be bigger than he is. A FABULOUS musician singer and song writer.
But I get the feeling he won't sell his soul or eat babies so he will be very limited in how far he will rise in the industry.

I remember watching Daniel Kitson at Brighton's Pavilion theater years ago and he renamed Snoopers Paradise "Wankers Folly" live on stage because they sold him a record player that didn't work! 🤣
