I love my mini Thanks for the video I have noticed hot ! Ugg I’ve just noticed this winter and it’s been one hell of a terrible winter on top of Covid! 😝🤬
My car is not a dedicated track car and will be staying non-turbo but it will be seeing open track days and autocrosses a lot. Would you still recommend? If I do plan to go with this route, I'll be installing it in front of my a/c condensor (Yes I'm keeping ac deal with it) along with the radiator right behind of course. Sounds ideal or no? Sure my car is not being boosted, but having a peace of mind out on the track in regards to oil pressure would give me a piece of mind?
I don't track my car but my car having known problem that the oil cooler hose bursting out of the blue (manufacturers defect) and was never fixed by thhe company only viable solution is to remove the stock water cooled oca and replace with something else, my only concern I'm not sure if the engine still have the same oil pressure after the installation
I have a Honda civic 2012 coupe everything is factory designed besides an cold air intake (I dint tow anything )I was wondering if I need to get an oil cooler for the hot temp. In south texas Or if my car is safe enough to handle it via it’s build design? Any thing helps
Hello I installed a 7 row G-Plus oil cooler on a JCW R56. I’m very happy with it. One thing it does is I can hear the oil pump whining at idle. The car throws no DTC codes. Any idea what is causing this? Thanks
when you fill with oil during first install or oil change, the oil thermostat would be closed right? How will the oil go to the cooler? Is there a way to open it? Or you fill more oil and when the system operates everything will fill?
Most oil thermostats do not ever fully close one way or the other. In other words, oil is ALWAYS flowing through the cooler. The thermostat just regulates how much is flowing through it. Also, he should've mounted the cooler with the fittings on top to avoid air pockets.
Stay tuned, I have a video coming out about that. Short answer, yes but with a big asterisk. Check out @RPMPowered on Instagram. They've got an amazing kit.
Will that heat exchange block squeeze back between the rad/support/bumper assembly and allow you to put the car into front end service mode without disconnecting / draining the oil lines?
DH Johnson if you give it enough slack absolutely. You don’t loose much oil when you unhook the oil lines at the thermostat so it’s nothing to be too worried about. That being said, I typically find it easier to pull the front off when ever I need to get in there, but that may be because I’m used to doing it 100 times by now lol
That factory cooler was NOT enough, especially commuter driving, engines get hotter while in stop and go city traffic,if it was highway, high speed driving, that's different because the oil moves faster thru the system, thus preventing over heating of coolant, engine oil and transmission fluid.
Damn this don’t look like a DYII not for me! Shit although I’m learning slowly but surely I never thought in 1 million years I would work on a car but actually have pretty much all the tools it does seem like they come apart Like a Lego I love my mini very much 2013
You don't need to prime your oil cooler, however, you do need to top up your oil once your the thermostat has opened up allowing oil to flow into the cooler to bring the oil back up to the appropriate level.
Wow .. thank you SO MUCH for sharing content like this.
As a new '07/R56 owner, information like this is a GODSEND.
Cheers
Thanks again Jason!
the best vid so far great angles and explanations!!
That was a really enjoyable video, thank you.

I love my mini Thanks for the video I have noticed hot ! Ugg I’ve just noticed this winter and it’s been one hell of a terrible winter on top of Covid! 😝🤬
really helpful video bro!❤ really underrated
I don't track my car but I do go fast a lot. Puts a lot of stress on the engine in high outside temps.
Thanks I was considering just slapping an oil cooler on my mini but the oil thermometer wasn't even on my mind and makes alot of since
i learned the time installing some nice AN fittings, that the fittings dont stay nice for long, they scratch up as soon as you handle them to install,
Hey man, u need to buy an aluminium AN wrench in order to not destroy the fittings
There is a oil filter relocation kit available now for the mini .
THIS MINI IS GOING TO BE AWESOME.
Given the time I'm putting into it, I hope so too! :D
Hey did you paint your heat shield or is it aftermarket….or both? Cheers, great video
Any links for a thermostat for a 3.0L? '05 subaru h6. About to add a cooler, cannot find any thermostats. Great video!
Great video, Is the placement of the oil cooler bad for the condenser and radiator
really good video, subs and smashed that like!|
What is the brand of this oil cooler?

Hey man, any chance you remember which adapter plate you used? I’m looking for one to fit a temp and pressure sensor too
Really that is the best tools you could find to do this job?
Mole grips and a Chinese adjustable spanner, what’s the point in nice anodised fittings if you’re just gonna chew them up?
I don't track my car but my car having known problem that the oil cooler hose bursting out of the blue (manufacturers defect) and was never fixed by thhe company only viable solution is to remove the stock water cooled oca and replace with something else, my only concern I'm not sure if the engine still have the same oil pressure after the installation
how much was the kit?
Why did you use rubber hoses instead of PTFE? Rubber lines are for fuel or power steering, maximum 100°C only
just did an install on my r53 boy was it a pain

Will this fit on a n13?
Where is the upcoming Video with the canadian solution? 😅
Do you still have your BMW E9? Would love to see that thing again!
Wout D yes, I do. I’ll be sharing soon but need to sort out some important items before I move forward
where to order the adapter

What brand/type is that sleave you used to give heat shielding to the braided lines
All my heat shielding comes from HeatShieldProducts.com, they've been a great supporter of the channel and they're stuff hasn't let me down.
Can this be used for a remote filter locator? Since it’s such a pain to get to the stock filter location just to change the filter.
Stay tuned, I have a video coming out about that. Short answer, yes but with a big asterisk. Check out @RPMPowered on Instagram. They've got an amazing kit.
Nice video do you have a list of the parts?
There's an updated kit I'm using, check out @RPMpowered on instagram. I'll be sharing more soon about my updated setup.
oil cooler install for SBC

Can your oil cooler get slightly wet from rain? Mine was smoking after I drove my Silvia in the rain
It's fine for it to get wet. May be just steam? It'd be good to check for leaks.

👍👍👍 🎥
Can I drive my R56 cooper s after I replaced the a/c condenser
Do you mean with out it being charged? I've been doing it with no problems but I'd probably talk to a mechanic ;)
What happened to the BMW?
Camhin1 I’m good time friend, in good time.
