    Let's just take a moment to appreciate the utter unmatched brilliance of Michael Carrick..this video is about scholes but carrick simply performed a role to perfection better than anyone, facilitating scholes ability to play the direct balls, his movement and positioning in this game, unreal, it was a crime that Carrick was not used in the England set up he would have enabled scholes and lampard to do what they did for their clubs in an england shirt..
    Most underrated English midfielder in history. Period.

    I am watching this after the disgraceful performance vs Everton on the 21 April 2019, and I feel sad. It has been almost 8 years, and the club has been sinking deeper each year. The current management of MU successfully removed the football part out of an elite football club. Scholes, Giggs, SAF, David Gill....unreplaceable giants for MUFC We miss you so much, guys.

    Scholes and Carrick in Midfield was an absolute crime! 🔥🔥🔥
    We badly need someone like that to just sit deep and dictate the tempo, Pogba is our only source of creativity in Midfield and he's best given the license to go forward, he could do with some help from deep to improve our build up play while Pogba wrecks havoc in the final third. Maybe someone like Neves but I'm not sure we're in for him and Pogba will probably leave aswell. That escalated quickly 😔😖

    i cant even imagine how liverpool or man city would shatter these two teams with workrate and pressing. paul scholes would never be allowed to sit back there and drop bombs all over the pitch, UNPRESSURED. He would still be outstanding, but Chelsea are just letting him do what he does best. Football has changed quite a bit in 8 years

    • @roryforham
      @roryforham Před 5 lety +1

      i disagree scholes would drop a shoulder and feint away play a short pass or a 1 ,2 . any man utd team would adapt within a season or to klopp's liverpool are so similar to the 99 united team its uncanny very quick direct using wide players like beckham and trent. city do that endless tika taka and recycling the ball which i hate being quick rarely go wroung which is why ive alwasy loved watching that united and this liverpool and certainly the spurs in the champions league except the final when they couldnt finish

      @@chrisconnor8086 he could young scholes the box to box scholes in the 90's when he was sometimes played as a 2nd striker. but the late scholes is pretty special given his physical decay seeing as cappelo wanted him in england side for the wc 2010 even when his legs had started to go a few years earlier. this was the time when the galzers started running utd into the ground like it is currently. what scholes did in his last few years is more impressive than what he was when he had pace he could control and dicate the game from deep within their own half. there is a reason why pgba wasnt played in fergie last year he could never do what scholes can do even though he can run when he can be arsed to make runs. him and keane in centre midfeild is better than xavi and inesta in my opinion they make better passes on the deck and can tackle and dont bother doing fansy footwork. not a tud fan not that should matter

    • @MANUTD4LIFE171
      @MANUTD4LIFE171 Před 5 lety +14

      Problem with not allowing him space especially when he’s playing deep, was that getting to tight to him would allow him to take you out of the game with a clever first touch, drop of the shoulder, or a 1-2. Which would then leave a big gap in your midfield, which Scholes could take advantage of.
      So sometimes you where kind of forced to give him space as you’d end up in more trouble if you tried to mark him out of the game.
      There is a good reason why most of his former team mates say he was the best player they played with, Scholes was a special talent.
      If only we had a player like him now.
