Toni Kroos is an excellent passer but he still can’t surpass the greatness of Alonso. Alonso’s passes were risky, edgy, forward, dangerous and insanely accurate to your preferred foot. Kroos’s passes are ridiculously accurate too, but most of them are mellow horizontal passes.
Kroos is in top 5 progressor by passing from many years. I don't know if u've seen his passes but if a forward makes runs he delivers the ball straight to his feet. He's created more chances than any other CM in past few years. Infact compare Xabi Alonso's seasons in Bayern to Kroos's in RM in same time period Kroos has created double the chances while having 20% more long pass accuracy. Doing long passes for sake of it isn't being great but doing them when u see a fault in defensive line is. So he's already surpassed Xabi Alonso. About his horizontal passes, they aren't horizontal but diagonal to wings to take the sting out of opposition press and eventually give forwards more time on ball or create gaps in centre.
@@aakashdeep2298 when Alonso moved to Bayern it was at the end of his career after his best days have passed. You can’t compare Bayern Alonso to prime Kroos. U can take as many risks as u want but unless there's an opening it's a wasted ball. Look at Xavi, put it a ball when there was an opening, never forced a pass. Better to play it like Xavi & Kroos, overload 1 side and play a diagonal to open wing and cross from there or do a 1-2 and create chance. There's a big reason why RM has been so successful with Kroos, and Barca with Xavi, coz they rarely ever gave a bad ball, every pass is tactical & meaningful rather than risky & hopeful.
@@aakashdeep2298 You are talking as if Alonso was some amateur player and passer. In fact, Real Madrid won La Decima before Kroos’s arrival and Xabi Alonso was the maestro of that team. I remember in those days, alarm bells would ring in Real Madrid if Alonso was injured, because he was the balance point of the whole team and without him, the team had a very hard time. And no they don't play very different positions, makes me think u've never seen Kroos. Did u see Liverpool 1st leg, that's his usual position, as deep as a DMF. It's easy to say LCM, but he's a regista not a box to box or an advanced CM.
I have read alot of comments But I will give the most accurate analysis. If you watch xabi long passes he hits them from a more free , relaxed position because he plays as a deep play maker or cdm , which gives him more space to hit to any direction he wants , paul scholes is more of a box to box or even say an attacking midfielder so hitting from Paul position makes it more difficult because if you not good with the measurements you might over hit it but dude still gets it so accurate, so from overall analysis I think paul is much better in the long pass shit because he is always on press or pressure when he does and he does hits it accurately while xabi is more free and alone when he hits it and he does it from a deeper role meaning he will hardly over hit it since is coming from a deeper position but Paul almost half the pitch when he does hit it and he still gets his target , paul is better
There's a difference. When Xabi passes, wingers still have to look where the ball is going. When Scholes passes, they just have to run. The ball magically finds their feet
Exactly! The best passes are the ones that makes the receiver go forward creating space without losing speed. Just run forward the ball will be in front you type of thing. Scholes is better in doing that.
Alonso's pass has much more weight as we see in the video, but I think it appears that way mainly because of the playing style of the team and the opponent's defender. 1:15 shirt number 22 that was Angel Di maria
CR7 played with both of them btw 😶
