I started riding last year at 47, crashed my ninja 400, got a R7, just got the 2024 ZX6R. Biker and CDL is a stressful mix, lol. I'm a bus driver and a new father. God bless both of you, stay safe.
@@timoteileahu I just had new sprockets and chain installed, I noticed a lil bit more responsiveness, was too happy and drank too much coffee. So i was hyphy. Went a bit too fast cornering over a concrete island that curved right. Target fixated and went over it, slid onto opposite lanes (thankfully no oncoming traffic). Just bruises, but bike got totalled. Insurance increased alot.
Congratulations! My 23 ZX6R also doesn't show 1st gear on the dash sometimes when I'm stopped and shifting from N to 1st until I let out the clutch a bit. Not an issue for me as it doesn't happen often and doesn't appear to be any kind of mechanical defect. If you are looking for an amazing slip-on exhaust check out the Yoshimura AT2. I had a Two Brothers before I got the Yoshimura and the Yoshimura is so much more refined sounding (still loud AF with baffle out) and better quality and looks.
It didnt show first maybe it not in fist i got a 2016 somtime i have let off clutch a little then it engage i think its some safety feature too keep you throwing in fist at a high speed plus you got too start to down shifting
Tim, Congratulations, Your very smart to ride sensibly ! Does the bike require the oil to be changed almost immediately to good quality wet Clutch compatible Oil in a 10-40 viscosity ? AmsOil has the highest lubricanting qualities of all oils.
So im about to change mine at 600 miles with a normal bike oil you can find at auto zone and a kn filter and im gonna change it again at 1000 miles with amsoil, ill make a vid on it if you want
I think the bike still sounds good. When I was younger I used to put the loudest exhaust on all my shit, but as I've grown I now appreciate the ability to be more stealth when I want it. Once in a while if I'm hooning around I still wish it was louder but the benefits outweigh that desire to me. Was it the specific KRT color combo you wanted that was so hard to find? Or just ZX6 in general? I love the old school look of those 40th anniversary bikes
Make sure u check your coolant on the bike. I saw a lot of people on line talking about their coolant being low buying their bike new. When I brought my ZX6 2024 new the coolant was low. Once u get near your break in miles the bike would some what stop with the no gear being displayed. I love my bike but I hate the fact it’s hard to put this bike in neutral. 1500 miles later I still fight putting the bike in neutral smoothly 😂!
Lmaooo yeah i always have to go into first before going in neutral but sometimes ill get lucky and itll slip in from second. But thanks for the advice im literally gonna check the coolant now😂

I have a 09 and it also doesn't show first gear until I release the clutch a bit.
i traveled 1200 with my 2024 zx6r ... its amazinggggg i m planing my next trip soon.
Ps when get cold kawi trans dont shift from first too second with low rpm easy till it get hot

It was the krt colorway with abs that was hard to get
But nah once you hear the new exhaust youll see how much better it is
