Maeve preening Toupac was the calmest and most focused I've ever seen her. Very interesting to see natural behaviors that didn't include "killing" "destruction" " hunting"
@A.A.Ron Davis Uhh. We didn't soften cats at all. They essentially domesticated themselves because of the convenience we provide. Most will revert to wild behaviors quickly upon no longer having a human to provide for them.

The way Maeve braces herself against the perch makes it seem like she's hanging on for dear life against the torrent of happy feels (scritches). I love how they both close their eyes so happily XD

Toucans are my favorite animals ever and it makes me so sad to know people keep them as pets and buy and sell them so easily. They should be wild and free. Thank you for what you do and the message you sent about it. I appreciate you taking care of birds who cannot be released into the wild or need extra help and I look forward to seeing Beatrix adapt to the new home! As an animal guy myself. Toupac is easy to understand why he is so trusting after watching your vids. Ive been binge watching. Trust. Mav She is just doing her thing but wants more. She trusts you. Hope you find a Lady who is understanding of the birds. I'm not a bird guy. I dont want to fall in love with a bird that out lives me. Ive seen what happens after to the birds =(. stay safe and keep being a good person
Toucans make terrible pets but, they are one of the species that doesn't outlive their owners necessarily. Toupac did but his owner was elderly I believe.

I remember being in an aquarium where some of the animals were allowed to wander around, (from what I understand they were vaccinated and completely trained, and I also saw med kits everywhere) and a random toucan perched next to my head and leaned forward on my shoulder. I jolted away, worried they were becoming territorial, but now I’m wondering if he just wanted pets or to say hi watching this.
