I'm not a re-enactor I just like good retro camping kit. I bought a full Zeltbahn from SoF and performed a few modifications on it. It makes a fabulous tent for backpacking and traditional camping. Plenty of backup as well for spares. Give a coat of Fabsil before use. SoF provide a superb service.
I waterproofed my zelt using *Fabsil*... I bought it in a 5L tin container, poured it into a plastic water bottle with a spray attachment and sprayed it on. Do it outdoors of course and leave it to dry in the sun, works really well and helps keep water out which is the whole idea of it. As for SoF, some of their stuff is not too good, you're quite right there. You mention Vincent ... a link would be very useful especially if (like me) you don't have Facebook. Great review... the only other thing I would like to have seen is how to put the 4 quarters together and erect the whole thing with helmet in top.
Thank you for commenting! I'm curently working on getting a complete zelt. When complete, I will gladly do a video on putting it together. 😁 Vincent only operates on facebook, so unfortunaly I can't help you there. It's 100% worth it to create a simple account just to order from him. Or ask a friend to place the order.
I got two zeltbahn triangles the canvas swedish army editions and i do got some exsperimentation on a few two-tringle enclosed shelters. Luckly i am a short guy (just 157cm) and i found out that the average hight of a two -triangled design is about 80-85 cm tall.
Well, I'm sure the quality is more or less on the same level. I don't know the first thing about ss camo though, so I can't say anything about the accuracy of those zelts. Thanks for the reply 🔥
When comparing the rain drops on the RUM Zelt to the original, you can see that they are completely wrong unfortunately, which makes this a definite no as an option for me. Thanks for the review, I was thinking abut buying four RUM zelts for a tent but I will use another vendor now.
@@dergrenadier ah, thank you, bec i have ben looking for a zeltbahn for my impression, that is not trash, rather buy a good/ok one then buy multiple shittie ones. So i might buy this one. Thank you :)

Your video convinced me to purchase my Zeltbahn tent from Soldier of Fortune. Couldn't be happier. Great price, fast shipping and excellent quality!

Very useful as I'm considering getting an oak leaf pattern zelt from him soon.

@@dergrenadier I'm wanting it more for wild camping than reenacting, but the pattern looks pretty good to me. Keep up your good work. 👍
Nice

do you find another ?
Is the Zeltbahn from Panther store as good as the one from soldier of fortune ?
Panther store is better as far as I've heard. Panther is generally praised for their good camo and high quality.
@@dergrenadier I’ve heard the same but I wasn’t quite sure thanks for the answer
Are you still using this zeltbahn today, or have you gotten a new one.
Still using it. Aged like wine. Does the job well
