From George. I have a full uniform and the equipment kit but have an extra for the backpack gear called an 'A' frame that some of the kit connects to. My uniform is the same tunic as I see in this video and pants are of the same colour or field grey. I have four marks of helmet and the field cap. No weapons not even bayonet. I do have the boots also. I'm in Australia and unfortunately I don't belong to any reanacment group. So I can not wear this anywhere. I once thought of joining somewhere but it didn't happen. I like the video I'm very jealous. Thanks for the showing how it all goes together.Have fun.👍🇭🇲🦘🐨✌️
I am modeling a Wehrmacht Squad for war games, and this info was very useful for the set up of all the accessories that came with the miniatures. Thanks!!!!!
Seems like a typical platoon of Wehrmacht would clink and clank worse than a Union Civil War Regiment? Like most Americans I’ve always been fascinated with German kit but all those loose components, straps, buckles & metal must make a tremendous amount of noise. How on earth did the 106 and 99 not hear them coming on Dec 16, 1944?
the loose straps from the Y straps can be used as extra suspension. Just unbutton it and then loop it behind your ammo pouches on each side to get 5 points instead of 3 points of suspension. Also you can double loop your gas mask canister, it brings it tighter to the body.
I was trying to find a video like this forever. You deserve more credit for what you’re doing. Thank you for the awesome video. Keep up the good work definitely gonna follow you.
Really interesting videos, I'm aware of many of the details presented but it's nevertheless great to see details of the German soldier's equipment so succinctly discussed.
Thank you for this tutorial with the M44 tunic its much harder for support on the back rather than earlier model tunics because theres only two hooks on the side.
shout out to the noisy neighbour! Interesting, never considered having a waffenrock as an enlisted, like many I consider the service dress order or 'walk out dress' already very handsome. As a former idiot, I appreciate all the different perspectives of people who chose certain branches or services to impress. So glad the reenacting hobby has grown more wealthy with information on CZcams since I joined. Still sad older names in the hobby have gone off YT, ReenactorGuy, even though some of his advice was more pragmatic than technical like how a gatorade fits perfectly in a gas mask carrier was beneficial to me and probably others.
Damn! I forgot about ReenactorGuy, but he was the first ww2 german reenactor on YT. He and some others of the first ones are the reason I started in the first place. Enlisted men had waffenrocks but when the war actually started I imagine they more or less stopped that practice. There are pictures of entire parades in paris where everybody is wearing a waffenrock so that is saying something.
@@dergrenadier a lot of reenactors especially germans get shit on because of the "nazi bad" ideology used by the woke even though most Wehrmacht soldiers didn't care about politics they just wanted to survive

can you do a video on how to set up the equipment for a Sanitäter.? I want to start reenacting but I don't know where to get specialized medical pouches and so on
One thing I’ve learned to do is set your tornister or rucksack higher than you (ground above a foxhole or entrenched position, table, tree stump, stone wall, fence, etc. ) and put your back to it and reach around to hook the d rings to the tornister. 😁
They hook to the bottom of your A frame or tornister / rucksack. Notice that in the end, when I have my tornister on, they are not dangling there anymore. Glad I could be of assistance!
This video was very entertaining and educational you explained everything very good and easy to understand, and i would like to know where you have your wehrmacht gear from. And is it reanactment gear or from the 2nd world war?
Thank you! This is ww2 German, ww1 is quite different. The gear is from many many vendors and manufacturers, impossible to name in one reply. I refer to my other videos for more information on the vendors.
Folding the zeltbahn over your meskit and wear it with the breadbag strap as shoulder straps. This was done in WW1 and early in ww2 but later in the war this dissapeared a bit.
Not often. They were only issued for trips into the field longer than 24 hours long and shorter than 48 hours long, or something in that ballpark. And even then almost nobody got them. You don't see them often at all. My advise is to not use them at all.
Now the question: where to buy all this (in EU) and how expensive would it be? I know you have seperate item videos but the whole package would be nice to know :)
A frames were only issued for certain actions, and very rarely. If a soldier had an a frame and a tornister he needed the later model tornister which has hooks and a strap for the a frame. Don't use an a frame unless you know you are, on that specific occasion, portaying a unit that had them on that very moment.
Depends on what type of boots you want. Riding boots, regular early/late boots, or something else? Officer impressions are hard because there are many ways to do it right but way more ways to do it wrong. If you want good boots and you take this very serious I would see if Jan Berger could be of assistance.
I want to Ask something...... I seen people tuck their Stahlhelm in their belts only with the helm's liner straps ............ i try dat only to find out that it'll damage and tear the helm's straps...........
