FYI On MY 2012+ Impalas you need a 1/2 drive ratchet or breaker bar to release the tensioner. For MY 2012+ there's a 3.6L V6 engine rather than the 3.5L V6 that's been in the Impala from 2006-2011. Its a little more easier in the 2012 because you don't have to remove any reservoirs or brackets and the belt routing is different too. Look up how to change a serpentine belt on a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro with a 3.6L V6 engine for belt routing info for that has the same engine as the 2012 Impala. Hope this helps. You're welcome.

It may be a different process on that particular motor. You should have a belt tensioner that you can release the tension on so that you can change the belt. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 866-403-3393

If you need a timing chain belt would u have to need a whole new engine because some places is telling I need a new engine but I see videos where no replaced a engine

Why is the water pump placed at the top of the diagram when on this engine it's down by AC
It is similar to the 3.6 lacrosse I have. I have to replace belt and all I could find was 3.8 so I found this video

Just had my water pump pulley go on me. Anyone know if I can replace just the pulley in the impala or do I have to replace the water pump as well
You might be able to but it isnt worth it.
