pretty extraordinary footage. Thank you for sharing that. That was a treat to see that window into the past. Never saw steam engines in revenue service. Oldest stuff I saw as a boy in Brooklyn
were the old R4 subway cars, which saw service well into the 60's Famous for decapitation ceiling fans, straw-packed seating, and the conductor had to open the doors by staring between two
cars on two narrow foot plates, and press two buttons.

Interesting/informative/entertaining. Excellent photography job enabling viewers to better understand what the orator is describing. Very accurate functions of the locomotive 🚂. Had the opportunity & good fortune. To ride 2 different steam locomotives 🚂 scenic train rides. Smoky Mountains N. C. & Durango & Silverton Colorado. Very relaxing viewing the wonderfully beautiful regions. Remember the " Singing Break Men "🎸🎶 Jimmie Rogers. Whom was a genuine break men till changing careers to singing entertainer. (1926 thru 1933 ) . Most memorable song " Break Man's Blues 😭 ". The educational value of this phenomenal presentation . For future generations to appreciate & enjoy.. Is immeasurable since these filming's are 60 plus years old. A bye gone era of rail roading.😉.

I didn’t know that the South Shore had their own rolling freight stock!🧡

At 13:10 is the Milwaukee County War Memorial. You list as unknown depot. So, this must be the C&NW Milwaukee passenger station on the downtown lakefront. Thanks.

How were you able to operate the train if you weren't a employee? Pretty cool

There might still be some tracks in the street on the west side of Michigan City.
