This is why I don’t sell cars/sleds/atvs to family or friends. They buy them from you with a lifetime service callback whenever something is wrong.

I just changed the tranny fluid in my Chevy almost at 100K miles. The stuff coming our looked real good, bright red and no smell. Good luck to Trevor with your old Ford!

I just had my 2010 f150 trany bulk head connector and pump seal fixed for leaks. Your correct on low fluid , very sensitive . I'm thinking vermin got to the harness.

I need to find someone like you that has a good scanner and knows how to use it. Just changed transmission 4R75E and got all kinds of codes affecting how engine runs. It's been in a shop but wasted my money, still runs like crap and has numerous codes.

Got a transmission problem slipping not going into 3rd/4th gears in my 2008 Ford E350 van with 182,000 miles. I believe it’s the same transmission the 4R75E. Your probably right it’s probably the clutch packs burned up. I’m going to drop the valve body in mine and check the check balls and the solenoids. I understand there’s a snap ring that had a tendency to break preventing the solenoid from engaging. Those check balls are rubber they wear out split sometimes etc. Remember blowing your tranny has a whole different meaning to a mechanic.

My old 2007 5.4 has 340k kilometers on it. Transmission still shifts like a dream. Was that one ever serviced? I chalk mine lasting this long to religious transmission maintenance.

I'd drop the transmission pan next to see if the burnt clutch theory is true and cut open the filter. Maybe even test a solenoid or two while the valve body is staring me in the face.😉 Next step, drive it to the junkyard. 😜

Not throwing shade just pointing out based on other fluid levels, probably ran too low on fluid too long burning up the clutches. I toasted a transmission on a Mazda 3, cooler line developed a leak on the way home, got home, trans didn't make it though. Was a great truck despite being a 5.4 throw away truck.

Another informational video, my friend to say the least, the old girl must be tired and worn out at least the transmission. Seems like it may be time to put a few dollars out of the pocket and replace the old girls transmission so that she can persevere once again.

thats how im looking at mine.. dam.. i got 1o years out of the truck and at the time i dont know what i would have doe if i didnt have it.. then i go and blow it up by putting too much fluid in it when it looked bone dry.. now it doesnt move.. needs a rebuild 6 years after i got a rebuild.. thats a long time though? should i have been doing trans fluid changes in that time? thats what made me need a rebuild the first time.. i changed the fluid and it quit working.. am i supposed to change the fluid or dont change the fluid? im so sick of this truck and all the expensive repairs.. i never wanted it in the first place.. thing needs a new engine.. now trans rebuild.. gtfo... its 218000, thing is done.. its totalled.. no point in doing the repairs.. its needs a whole powertrain rebuild every few years? no way..
