  • Here's this weeks ASMR version of my latest video. If instead, you'd like to learn more about each step shown, you can find far more information in the fully narrated edition, here: • Throwing New Vases fro...
In this Sunday's video I'm doing a few more new clay tests from the bodies Potclays sent to me. I'm blending the more textured stonewares down with my usual clay and incorporating a few big pinches of iron spangles, made from hammering iron, which should create some rather dramatic speckles on the surfaces of the vases. I'll show you how I mix and wedge the clays, incorporate the iron and then I'll demonstrate how I throw and trim these two vases. Glazing and firing to come soon!
    Thanks for watching!

I use wild clay from my property in the middle of nowhere, I'm trying to figure it out as I go, and you are my only teacher. Most of my pots are flops, but I finally was able to pull a couple of (short) cylinders last week after watching your videos! Arigato, Sensei Florian! 😄

Hi Florian, hope all is well across the pond. Always love seeing new clays/ceramics, glazes and designs. I wonder if youd ever consider doing a one-off piece and auction it? P.s. love your doxie!

This is so close yet so far from marbling clays. 😂 You should marble so porcelain with your normal clay body. It turns out so beautiful. Great video as always.

This is only a suggestion, but when the video is acellerated the sounds are very unpleasant, maybe you should think about removing or replace for something softer. Maybe even do not acellarating at all. Those noises were sooooo annoying to me, it cuts the good vibes from the video, in my opinion. But thank you for theawesome video again ❤

I'm only a few minutes in but I also find it jarring. Maybe a Rpresentative Clip at 1x speed instead of showing Everything but sped up?
That being said, I know some people like the speedy sounds, and if they want to show Every Single Thing but have a manageable video length then it's a necessary evil.
EITHER WAY it's an awesome view into the process, thanks for filming and sharing!

What funny is I don’t mind the speed up and even am not surprised by it. I think it’s interesting to hear that it’s bothersome as I just expect it from lengthy videos.🤷🏻‍♀️ Learn smth new every day 😂👍🏼
