as someone who always ends up letting bearger stomp the trees earlier than i should, i like this method a lot. it will let me compensate for the lost birchnut seeds. and hell yes i want to see more of these videos :D
Just a thought, but if you have a starcaller staff you could probably use that and just turn the flingo on and off over and over to light up the trees instead of using up staves on them.
Much more economical but a bit slower.
@@Insanefishinguy it won't mass produce twigs and birchnuts though. plus i would rather use fire and ice staves because i'm greedy and would rather keep the ice for food than a flingo. it's your call though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
according to the wiki, this is just how the trees behave after a while, you burning it and putting out the flames doesn't do anything. They eventually become passive
I like how you transitioned the video from being memey to informational so naturally, well done
Finally, Totally Normal Tree 2.
That expalins why they seemed so dangerous to me when I was a noob, and seem so harmless now. Whenever one spawned, I would set it on fire because I was afraid of combat, causing it to spawn a ton of nutters, which in turn made it seem much more dangerous than it actually is if you just kill the nutters and chop it down lol.
Seeing and exploring creative methods like this is the reason I have played this game for years. Never gets old! Thank you for the video! I'm gonna try this out as soon as I get home. Also, using a fire staff as a poor man's star caller is cool.
about 7:55 birchnuts in winter: as far as I recall wild catcoon can vomit a birchnut.
The whole video is amazing!
Man good editing, a good microphone, and entertaining content??? This is great and u deserve more views!!! Thanks 4 showing me how 2 beat my birchnut trees into submission :D
Nice
It's easier to tame the Pine tree guard.
Just plant acorns once it goes to "sleep" it doesn't sleep forever or despawns. It wakes up day later and is a pernament "pet" of your camp it won't attack you (unless you start chopping trees xD)
I realized that if you plant seeds of the trees you cut down near the monster trees, they will be back to their original form. A monster tree appeared when I was still new to the game, and I researched it and a convo about monster trees appeared, the players of the convo gave this seed advice! Thanks to them I would have died and killed my 17 days of progress.
I think that only works on pine tree guards
ah yes, hidden gems of youtube.

Ooooh! This is a neat use of using the poison birchnuts mechanics to your advantage. Might try this out to snag a bunch of birchnuts for decor : P
But they spoil?
They mean to plant
Love how the video is formatted well-done hope u make more content like this!
Thanks for the video, might actually legit tame a beefalo next public game i join other than the ride forever + lightbulb method I've been using
I don't think I'll be doing this in any of my own games but it's a very interesting concept and you made a great video explaining it as well as some applications! Thanks for the vid
The worse character? Wendy isn't even bad
I've subscribed because of the high quality speech and video editing. I've watched your how to take beefalo video and I'm convinced that this is you are this consistent and competent
Question, can you make a machine to make the chunk where the tree is always loaded? Perhaps by using admin commands to summon a fake player?
Wow he is literally made a funny bug into a cute decoration for base
How to make friends. Beaying them into submission
Who the hell thinks wendy is the worst character? She's pretty OP.
“Beat it to submission”
Let me just remove the context real quick and quote you on that.
lol, the ending kind of reveals the title was a clickbait all along, but at the same time, it's not because what the whole video is about is much more interesting and useful than the actually definitely truly real answer. :P
Like most problems in my life i just walk away until my problem despawns then I proceed to beat myself into submission.
Just when I thought I understood majority of the game’s mechanics this is recommended to me
I don't think anyone thinks that Wendy is the worst character, however it is also true that most people go for Wolfgang, (recently) Wanda, probably WX-78 and, like me, Wickerbottom. I still think that little nerf isn't really THAT influent.
I would love to know if there's a story as to how and why you figured this out. Cool stuff!!
My guess - managed to create one near base, wanted to kill it as a weak character, already had a nicely situated flingo so decided to burn it in stages, then this happened!
I've found you! Small world. X3
It's 3am I don't play this game anymore but very cool, I needed this thank you
Wendy is the best DST character. Period.
Absolutely fantastic bug and farm!
It's an honor sir.
LOL this is insane, I had to check you didn't make this on April 01st. I would love to keep a tamed birchnut around at base, never mind all the drops, sad that it reverts when you leave.
How did I end up watching a twig farm video
I love Wendy sad face
aw i hoped you could keep them around permanently as decoration
This is insane can't wait for klei to patch this
From the first seconds you already give off Edgy Rick vibes lol
"All of that while playing as the worst character in the game."
(in mute) "Excuse me officer, I would like to report a theft."
I forgot this was even in the game I quite literally never see it
When You Said Wendy Was The Worst One I Was About To Go On A Riot
Imagine taming someone by traumatizing them by constantly burning them IRL
4k hours into dst and didn't know you could tame this annoying tree. thanks for sharing this
man said "you're not welcome here" 🤣
holy shit a farm for birchnut/twigs
Finally a reason to use Wes: getting more uses out of staffs
Wes is a armature magician confirmed.
This is the first video I discovered from you. I like your style, so I subscribed.
niceeee, I once spawnted liek 3 poison birchnut trees near my bunnyman farm and got a lot of twigs a nut
wow this was the information I didn't know I DESPRETLY needed.
tree monster's a masochist
2:26 “birchnutters can’t get on the boat” 10 seconds ago a birchnutter ran across the water and boarded the boat
So Tamer playstyle in DST is now a thing, huh?!
Awesome farm. I usually just weremoose tackle them over. Or get mobs to fight them occasionally.
I honestly thought this was just an elaborate shitpost.
The first time I saw the poison birch nut tree it spawned at my base it was the tree I panicked and lit my base of fire and lost everything
woodie mains when poison birchnut tree
A bit antagonistic from the get go my friend. I just wanted to see how you tamed "le bad tree".
Glad you're good at the game.
Could you also use a dwarf star instead of a fire staff?
The bug is happening because it runs out of mini birchnutters to spawn
What about Wigfrid? You mentioned Wes using up less Fire Staff durability but Wigfrid also has her ballad that does the same thing. Although I'm not so sure if she would gain any points to even use the Ballad from only casting the Fire Staff.
Anyways, very cool and you unique video, I'm tuned in for more *AKSHUAL* guides
i finally know how to torture my birchnut trees efficiently
My gosh you deserve like a million sub.
How do I keep my aggressive tree if I need to quit the game in solo dst
If it's aggressive, just quit while it's on screen. When you log back in, it should still be aggressive.
@@lardee1373 I meant how to keep it tamed sorry for the confusion
@@lardee1373 what game is this anyway
Literally no one says Wendy is the worst character

Who's calling Wendy worst character ima fight them

damn, lardee knows everything
This is so irrelevant it's great ! Love it !
0:16 honestly I don’t play as characters because of their advantages I only play as Webber because I think he looks cool
I hope Klei will add the true taming of poison birchnut trees
I for some reason got a kick out of seeing you torture a tree
I have actually done this by accident. But I took the opportunity to chop it down... I always wondered why it didn't attack back
So much harder that a pine tree in witch you just plant a bunch of pinecones
Planting works on this to
18:00 we'll that was unesesary mean
This seems like more work than it’s worth 😂
Variant is that you
I cant remember which but wasn't there an item that kept an area loaded around it even with no player around?
The Ocuvigil yes. for some purple gems and some moonrocks.
@@ghostderazgriz No, its a myth. Even the wiki says that.
@@antiito2383 You're right it doesn't keep the area loaded, I should have clarified that. It only updates the map at that location.
@@ghostderazgriz Yup, even though I am new to the game so I might be wrong, dunno
Dawg i die of starvation as webber
You said wendy was the worst but I think wes
I thought Wendy was kick ass
Actually wendy is not the worst character in the game, its the easiest character in the game for noobs to play.just hide behimd the ghost at every combat encounter and game becomes sims with a ghost dlc fighting enemies at the background
Nice birchnut farm
Or the easier way just plant trees next to it which works on both poison oaks and tree guards and they dont despawn
poison oaks is the tree that he is burning
But still a cool bug because if you tame it with planting trees it will just be a difrent collor Birchnut and tree gards look like a normal/lumpy Evergreen
Wait, wes benefits from magic items too?
He has finally an advantage
Wendy the best character
Wow the farm is amazing, ty.
This is, very clearly a bug, and, not actually an intentional mechanic. The tree isn't being tamed. It's being bugged to break its AI
Nah blud sweating
I bet you could also farm birchnutters by using spitters.
When they spawn, I leave them alone for a day or so, they will become peaceful and I will chop them without any problems.
This is brilliant and I'm gonna abuse it lmao.
Wes is the best character
treetrauma
Actually the fire is unnecessary. Left long enough, a poison birchnut tree will stop attacking and spawning birchnutter
Great guide for vegan characters or twiggy tree haters. Good guide even after 2 years
yeah but you know how to make it really REALLY tranquil??? A X E
Nuts
I thought it was a joke but then he kept going...
I always play with wendy
