Up until a couple years ago...I had never heard of John Farnham, or the name didn't ring a bell. But once I started listening to him, watching videos of his live performances I was stunned by how beautiful and powerful his voice is. John Farnham has one of the greatest voices I've ever heard.
I grew up listening to John Farnham. He's got to be one of the best humans on this earth. Wishing him all the best on his journey to good health after having a tumour removed from his mouth late last year. Thanks for this one 🎶
He is the best male singer in the world in my opinion. He wasn't keen on touring overseas and being away from his wife and children and stayed in Australia. We were lucky, the rest of the world missed out. This song was written for his wife.
It’s also a little sad that the USA forgot about him when he decided to stay home. It’s thanks to CZcams that the rest of the world gets to hear the genius we have always loved. Decades💖
He is now 74, post operative from removal of part of his jaw due to removal of a mouth cancer and reconstruction of his jaw. It is unknown if he will be able to sing anymore.
@@stephaniebell4272 - it's interesting your choice of words.. it's like you said: "he decided to stay home". John made his choice. the US didn't forget about him; it's just hard to keep up with someone that doesn't feel the need to come & perform in other countries except their own. How would the US even know if he had a new album out? It's like he didn't care about other countries enjoying his music. I love Farney's music; But I only knew about him through my Aussie husband. You get what you give & he didn't reach out to the rest of the world. I hope he is faring well after his cancer surgery. Prayers. x 🙏😎
Information only - Burn for You written by John Farnham, Phil Buckle, Ross Fraser and was first released by John Farnham in 1990. Great Aussie, loved by many.
John co-wrote this with others in his band while on tour in Asia. The song is about them missing their loved ones while on tour. This was a main reason why John quit touring in the world and only did so in his home country of Australia.
John is one of those guys who actually sings better live than he does in the studio. Studio versions give you the technical perfection but live gives you that same technical perfection, plus the emotion, passion, charisma, audience participation. There is nothing better than listening to John Farnham in concert. He might not be well know in the USA but he is a Superstar in Australia and parts of Europe and the UK. Enjoy the journey. Can't wait till you discover Rock Farnham..check out Blow by Blow. Not only one of the best singers the world has ever known. But a super nice man to boot.

John Farnham is the GOAT. Seriously, he can out sing anyone, any genre. He's known as The Voice and is an Aussie legend. Check out Help, or Long way to the top with the MSO, (Melbourne Symphony Orchestra) for starters. He warms up with Led Zeplin's Black dog.. Always go for his live versions.
You should always watch John live. He’s 74 this year and is recovering from a lengthy operation he had to his jaw. He most probably won’t sing again but he has given us joy for the past 50 odd years.
John is beloved to we Aussies! John always sings better live and he’s been around since the 60’s. He can sing ANYTHING rock blues ballads even opera! So glad you young ones are hearing him finally.♥️🇦🇺
John is one of 3 singers I've ever heard that do their songs better, EVERY TIME, live than the record is Steve Perry and Chris Stapleton .. you can't touch any of these guys
I was lucky enough when I was a teen to have met him at a breakfast show competition. He was so lovely. He's a big deal for us, Gen X and Baby Boomers in Australia. You really should react to his biggest hit "You're the Voice" music clip.
Would love to hear more of your reactions to John. You are so right that he is better live. Besides being a wonderful singer he jokes and talks to the audience and particularly brings credit to his band and back up singers most of which stayed with him for decades. He is a lovely human being loved by most of us in Australia.
The original is great but John is known as The Voice in Australia and is always so much better live. No one has ever heard him sing off key. And the last time he sang live was Feb 2020 at the age of 70 just before covid hit. And still sang in the same pitch. This was also the last time that Olivia Newton-John performed live.R.I.P He was diagnosed with cancer in the mouth in Aug 22. Possibly won't sing again. But health is more important.💯🇭🇲
We Aussies have been spoiled, I guess, as I'm never surprised at his flawless performances. Until it is pointed out that is. Thank you for pointing it out so I can truly appreciate him for the phenomenal talent that he is. It's been easy to take him for granted all these years because he's always been there. I've only just realised how lucky we have all been as it won't always be so.
John is legendary in Australia, a national treasure. One of the best voices, male or female, that I’ve ever heard. This is a deep rabbit hole Polo, but one well worth diving into. The Aussie subs will represent for sure the more of John that you dig into. 🔥
I discovered him whilst living in Japan during the 1980's. So many Australian bands were huge in Japan. When I got back stateside, I'd talk about all the fabulous Aussie music I'd discovered - but if they didn't come here... Try explaining John Farnham to someone with no reference.
Huge star down under. He was the lead singer of Little River Band then as a solo performer, he struck it big with the album Whispering Jack. A monumental album.
Actually he replaced glen for a few years than went back to his solo career he had enough of the in band fighting in LRB and he missed his wife and kids and hated being away overseas touring he wanted to be in Australia, aren’t we so lucky that we had John all these years 😊🇦🇺
Hi from Australia 👋 Thanks for reacting to our national treasure. Please please please react to John's duet with another Aussie treasure Jimmy Barnes, doing When Something is Wrong with My Baby (Hey Hey Its Saturday version). It's fantastic!
One of my favourite songs of his, a song dedicated to his wife as he used to tour away from her. His voice always gives me goosebumps. Should check out “a touch of paradise” from this same concert it’s an amazing song
LIVE is always better when things come to this guy, Every performance is always absolute top notch, but also slightly different as he changes it up ever so slightly depending on his mood, or mischieviousness. He has a good natured cheekiness and entertainer quality about him that pulls in the crowd.

John Farnham can sing opera, ballads, power ballads, country, R&B, anthemic, rock, hard rock, and if you can name another genre, he can sing it. FYI, he’s had no.1 albums in 5 decades in Australia, so he is famous here, and finally, this is an original.
John wrote Burn for You. I lose it when I hear the first guitar chords. It is so beautiful. He is an Austrlian Icon we (in Australia) have been blessed with his music for decades. Watching you all discover and love him too makes my heart burst XXX
Grown up listening to this legend and you have chosen one of my favorites of his along with 'Angels' live 2000 - his voice and performance is so great - he is also one of the best humans in my opinion
He is famous here in Australia. He was the King of Pop when I was a teenager. He's such a performer on stage. He throes the mic stand up and catches it. Just diagnoses with jaw cancer. Watch him sing Help
Hah! You said you couldn’t remember the song but remembered his voice, you should listen to Farnham’s song called ‘The Voice’ (live of course!) I was hoping you’d revisit one of our Aussie greats, thanks for the review 🙏
😢I imagine if Polo saw an older Farnham he’d go off. This younger Farnham is not usually reviewed. He got so many knockbacks and you can see he’s just beginning to kick back here, but where he ended is so much better. He wanted to tour the US but they said he was too old. Money/risk, dickheads. Johns best work was with a an orchestra. Someone said that a singer has to compete with an orchestra, but with John it’s the other way around … so it’s all really good.
Polo! If you take another look at him, please don’t do When The War Is Over like everyone else does and get it wrong. It’s a song which holds a lot of gravity, but Johns fandom don’t allow him to execute it. They’re visibly wetting their pants over war veterans wondering how they’ll fit back into civilian life. Not his fault, but wrong for him. It’s a great song and it should be executed by the originals. Cold Chisel. Live.
If you loved this I am absolutely sure that you with love John Farnham & Jimmy Barnes do “When Something Is Wrong With My Baby”. His voice is off the charts!
Three people wrote this. The singer, the guitar player, and the producer. This song helps to explain why you haven't heard of him.. His family is his no one priority.
The other Australian singer that we have, is Guy Sebastian ,listen to his son the acoustic version of the song Battle Scars you be a fan of him also . I would say John Farnham is the king of singing for protecting his craft with a more younger version of Guy Sebastian who can sing his heart out as well.
He’s a giant in Australia but he’s also collaborated with famous American artists too. His live concert encores were also epic, after performing for 2 hours, he and his backing vocalists would go on a kill it. You’d get a kick out of Amazing Grace which he and his backing singers dig deep and perform at the end of a live concert and his voice is still clear as a bell. Or, his arrangement and live performance at the end of a 2 hour concert of the Beatles’ cover of “Help”, it’s remarkable
that was a lovely reaction, it's so great to see John making more people smile. He's great at that :) (Try a live version of Touch of Paradise for another beautiful ballad)

JF always live - a great rabbit hole is the concert with the melbourne symphony orchestra - many choices all great songs
I am so glad you luv him too. He is an Australian Icon. This IS the original of the song. It is His.
John Farnham a legend in the 80s in Australia 💖
Thanks for appreciating our local hero!
John is an absolute legend here in Australia. He is very famous here. Do yourself a favour and listen to more of him. You'll be impressed.
that was a lovely reaction, it's so great to see John making more people smile. He's great at that :)
(Try a live version of Touch of Paradise for another beautiful ballad)
How has Polo not reacted to the Bee Gees yet? "Too Much Heaven" will blow him away.
You got to react to Deep Purples Child In Time (live 1970).
Watch John Farnham sing Angels, with Lisa, she is one of his backing singers it's brilliant
Truly magical experience by John Farnham.
An absolute icon of Australian music.
