CURRY !!!! There's something so sexy and also kinda tongue in cheek with this one!! Love, as always! 🫶🏾

Thank you! Yeah it is isn't it? I originally intended for it to just be a shitpost, so the tongue-in-cheek aspect is deliberate, but it turned out so much better than I hoped. They're so sexy together, it's difficult to be 100% silly about their dynamic. The two of them staring each other down/their hushed and soft voices/ their body language under the table alone had enough chemistry to put some other series' canon couples to shame, they're INSANE! 😭

Well, THAT is way too witty, wry, and winning to withhold comment and shout-out. And, mon Dieu, how totally true, tight, and on-the-money right it is.
    Carmy and Sydney "Platonic?" LOL.
That fledging table under which Carmy and Sydney re-stage Renaissance artists Dossi Dosso's and Boticelli's eroticized lovers lying together in repose? That table is "Platonic." That gritty, grotty little alley in which Carmy speaks to Sydney exactly as a loving husband does to his wife -- literally, right down to the words of an off-focus husband pledging to his wife that he's recalibrating to HER needs -- that alley is "Platonic."
But these two? They are so NOT "Platonic" a couple.
Let me speak frankly, the "One Hundred" as we used to say in the 1990s: were I to show Plato any scene (read: EVERY scene in the damn show) in which Carmy looks at Sydney in only the way a man does when he not only hungers for but also -- tellingly-- LONGS for that ONE woman alone (or man, as the case might be) above all others and say, "See this couple? Plato, mon vieux? They're your 'Platonic Love' in its 'Perfect Form!'" Plato would (a) slap me for insolence and (b) flunk me and throw me out of his class for missing the entire meanings of his works, Phaedo, Crito, The Republic, and Apology, et al. Those Hélènes ("Greeks"). They DO take their philosophical constructs seriously.
But I am more than certain Plato would also add, "Leave the vid. Cool groove. Good-looking couple." Hey. THAT is the real, real Sagesse Platonique ....

Wow, I am just blown away by your comment! The mental image of Plato getting indignant and decking people for holding Sydney and Carmy up as an example of Platonic love is hysterical! My thought process behind this video was to take as many of their scenes as possible out of context and to sync it to the music, just for laughs, but isn't it funny that the moments where the imagery and scenes matched the lyrics of the song the most were over lines like, "boy you turn me on!" as Syd ogled her then BOSS in episode one, no less! And when Carmy whispered sweet nothings to her under the table??? I couldn't even stick to my plan 100% to spin their non-romantic exchanges and make it romantic, because there's just so much of the romantic singing and buzzing between these two during their time together at any given moment. You just have to love them, platonic indeed! 😭

@@currymanganese : Je vous en remercie! And I am blown away, continually, by the sharp wit and warm tenderness of your takes on this complex, mysterious, and always luminous couple, Carmy and Sydney.
Well, of course Plato gets upset when various bad-faith viewers, deniers-of-the-obvious, or those who will have their usual "problem" envisioning a couple such as Carmy and Sydney, invoke his, Plato's name, when depicting anything-but-"Platonic" Carmy and Sydney as, well, "Platonic."
I AGREE with you: it IS nigh impossible to parody the idea of a "ship" between Carmy and Sydney, They are captain of their own ship. Turn off the volume during any given scene they share; turn off the soundtrack of any of the myriad "ship" tributes to them on CZcams and elsewhere: And STILL the two orbit each other as no others do; still they speak their own language wholly unto themselves; still Sydney thrums and glows in his presence and praise; and still and always, THAT boy, Carmy, gazes upon her, as he glides in perigee and apogee, caught , captured, OWNED in her gravitational pull,.
Plato will NOT have it that any given blind, deaf, dumb, bad-faith, or other student with "problems" over a Carmy and Sydney would present this couple in his class as the example of his detached, wholly intellectualized, "perfect form" love.
      Can we blame him?
