I feel this. My husband of twenty years is so supportive, but I can’t even think about sex. But he is understanding and forgiving and he reassures me that my lack of libido is temporary. And I know it is. Going from loving makeup and hair and sexually open, now I live in pajamas and no makeup. And sex is more making myself feel it. I know it will come back around. But I feel like half a wife. Happy dating and that one person is out there for you. It may be someone that is familiar with your recovery.
Thank you so much for this. I didn’t date forever and then did and he ran. Broke me down. Struggling with same thoughts on how to explain this and when and with what words. Appreciate the no wrong words for right person quote ❤
You're so awesome. Thanks for sharing these very deep things that you are experiencing. You are so down to earth & easy to connect with. I have an "outfit/clothes" idea that I think will look stunning on you. ☺️. We can discuss it on our coaching session next week. ☺️ - Shelly Mayer
So glad you are doing well. I reckon I have PSSD and have been 4 years now . PSSD is not the best description really , the sexual disfunction is the least important symptom for some of us when it is often accompanied by anhedonia nearly 24/7 for years. There does appear to be a disproportionate number of young people affected though who SD will be more serious. I think there is probably a big overlap with protracted withdrawal and PSSD ?
I told my girlfriend once I knew she was interested to keep coming around, I didn’t want to lead her on without that kind of information, I didn’t go spill everything, but I gave her a quick rundown. It’s hard for people to understand, though, I don’t think they ever fully do, but you’ll know the people that will try because they won’t run away easily.
Thanks for the requests. I don’t think I want to interview fellow coaches though. They all have their own channels and platforms. One made a video about me I found pretty hurtful so that person won’t be given any airtime from me.
@@icecreampaintjob1697 Yes all of the above, and not being so focused and concerned with every damn sensation in my body. I just slowly got used to suffering as they lessened in intensity and just began my life and brought my symptoms with me.
I have a somewhat different question for you. I’m a licensed psychologist, now retired. I’m just starting to taper off 1mg xanax daily that I’ve taken for over 30 years. I have a therapist who is trained in trauma and she’s been helpful. But during our last session via computer, she didn’t seem very understanding about the benzodiazepine situation and she even said, “they have their place” in certain treatment settings such as alcohol detox. I was disappointed because we’ve had a good therapeutic relationship for years. I’d be interested in hearing your feedback on this. Thanks in advance.
the FDA pamphlet for benzos states short term use (think 2-4 weeks). They are very helpful in settings like the dentist, for a colonoscopy, when someone is is agitated and in psychosis and hasn't slept. But beyond that? I think they ruin lives. I watch it every single day. Here's a letter I wrote for therapists: docs.google.com/document/d/1Tlw-xEpRWk_K6177V_A_xnfbUUHq2n_ktdeFr3Un4-s/edit?pli=1
@@AngiePeacockMSW Thanks so much, especially for the attached letter for therapists/doctors. I just read it and printed it out. So for people who have successfully tapered off of Benzodiazepines; Do we ever allow this into our system again in a situation such as prior to a surgery? Sometimes patients are given things like Ativan prior to/during the anesthesia process. Is this to be avoided once someone has successfully tapered off the benzodiazepines?
Time healed it and staying away from drugs. We have to let our bodies heal from all the medications we took. Yes I had genital numbness for years. It's gone now.

Ciao Angie, congratulazioni ma io ho perso la sessualità con una sola dose di zoloft! È morta l'eccitazione mentale e fisica da 3 anni! penso sia permanente
@@AngiePeacockMSW Yeah I totally believe you. I have those problems too, medication unrelated, because of muscle spasms in the pelvic floor. I just think that the mechanism in pssd might be different, even though the symotoms are the same.
Thank you for sharing and being so honest about your healing journey ❤

Angie, I love the photo of you and the Peonies. So gorgeous 🦋

Good stuff Ange! Do you take requests for interviews? I’d like to request Dr Jenn , Baylissa, Mikhaila Peterson & Coach Powers

@@AngiePeacockMSW Interviewing Baylissa would be nice
Thank you for this video. Did you recover from PSSD in a windows and waves pattern?
No it just slowly lifted
Did you have cognitive symptoms like total apathy and anhedonia as well? Like just no feelings at all and absent mindedness?
Yes I had all that. I felt completely removed from life. No good feelings. No joy or pleasure. For many years. It’s all come back.
@AngiePeacockMSW that's dope. Was it mainly just time and healthy lifestyle for you? And just trying to re-engage with your emotions?

Were you off all drugs before healing from pssd?
If so how long?
Thanks for video btw I found it very helpful
yes off all drugs about 6 or 6 1/2 years when it started to come back. I'm 8 years off everything right now.
@@AngiePeacockMSW ah good to know. Good luck on your man hunt. Don't think you'll need any though x
I'm sure Angie won't have trouble finding someone to help with that pent-up energy 😉

Pssd might be something completely different. I am not sure you can make a comparison at all.
I'm not sure what you mean. My libido was GONE, sensation GONE, orgasm - ZERO. FOR. YEARS.

I would be offended, but that attempted insult doesn’t even make sense.
