CLIMATEWATCH - Outlook for October and the rest of 2022

- September’s weather pattern looks to carry on into October with big highs and big low pressure systems moving through. It means more variety in our weather and, generally speaking, warmer than average weather.
However, October’s first week includes a significant southerly blast for NZ, which is likely followed by frosty high pressure then milder weather moving into the middle of the month.
Windier westerlies may finally be kicking in later this month after a delayed start (possibly due to La Nina bringing more easterlies to NZ, but also an increase in high pressure in the Southern Ocean area, which this month heads back north over Australia and to NZ’s north - which can shut down sub-tropical rainmakers.

@@WeatherWatchTVAn excellent idea, Christopher & Philip! 😊
Good afternoon and thanks for your information weather, its delightful indeed for what's going on. Keep up with some more important weather system
Good stuff! But can we expect three years of La Niña to be followed by ten years of drought🤔
Hopefully not!!!
Yet again so much better than BOM Australia that tells you nothing much at all except “Warmer than average” & “wetter than average”.
Niwa in NZ do that too. "A 50% chance of 50% normal rainfall" for example. Lol.
Great very knowledgeable presentation. I reckon you need to do an Australian version!!! We have too many weather sites over here all racing to see who can be the most dramatic and over the top.
Hi Adrian, thanks heaps for the support! We're really keen to start making more Australian content but we may need to wait until to 2023 to get more resources to help. It's in the plans though :)
Good Lock it in we are holding you to that
Thank you from Rotorua :)
Cheer for the outlook :)
Springs between summer and winter. Summery one day wintery the next
Very many thanks indeed Philip, much appreciated 😊
Phil, normally October in Taranaki is our wettest month, but not with a La Nina year as we`ve seen in the last couple of years. You don`t mention the moon at all, how much of an effect does this have on daily weather?
Hi Brett, the moon likely has some influence on the weather but not in a way that people can accurately and specifically forecast from. Would say the impact it has on our tides may play some role in impacting our weather. Ken Ring may disagree with us though!
Thx Phil
Great job
Good one mate
Thank you!😊👍
Next update 1/11/22
I must be the only Australian resident who knows what you mean, when should I order my new set of flippers
If did doesn't rain: it pours?
