I can understand the concern about blue jays mimicking the Ivory-Billed, but that in itself implies that the blue jays have HEARD the Ivory-Billed themselves.......

The St Francis river in the northeast part of Arkansas is very rural and unscathed by humans...this makes the area an ideal habitat for the ivory bill...I'm telling you folks, the bird is here. This area has all of the features to support life for the ivory billed woodpecker

I have heard these kent calls in the Chalk Bluff park area and surrounding areas. I have also heard the sounds of double knocks. The ivory bill is here and thriving in NEA.

they have since given up on the idea that if it exists....and if a few do exist, they say the chance of saving the species is not possible if not already. Such a bummer huh?

I have followed the ivory bill story since it broke in Arkansas in 2004. I live in Piggott, Arkansas in the Northeast corner of Arkansas around the Missouri bootheel on the St Francis river. The river divides the border. between Arkansas and the bootheel. After analyzing the audio recently captured in 2005' I have come to realize that I have heard the kent call of the Ivory bill on a number of occasions. The ivory bill is here in Northeast Arkansas in the St Francis river area.

A publication came out showint Pileated woodpeckers with more white than normal that could lead to a misidentification. Hope not but it is possible.

Given the large size of the forests in the areas in question, why would they be
pessimistic about the bird's existence or ongoing survival?

    Blue Jays are imitators.
if you have sound of a Blue Jay, doing this, THEN what else are they imitating?

I've said it before and I'll say it again and again and again the ivory bill woodpecker is NOT EXSTINCT I have them found on private land in Missouri I just need the land owners permission the land use to be public back in 2008 now private and will not let anyone n there and they are in a safe place just give it more time for them to breed like 3 to 5 years then someone will get a picture and video I do have a video of the ivory bill on the user name honda100 account the I caught the female ivory bill from a cell phone you might want to watch that yellowish stump sticking out of the water there is some black that Flys off the stump sticking out of the water and it Flys left it Flys off from the bottom of the stump if you slow it down and replay it I swear to God these ivory bills are NOT EXSTINCT I swear to God there real I go back to work at the gin for 6 weeks we will be done by Thanksgiving and my boat will be fixed and I'll ask the land owner if I can get n there so ya it's just a matter of cash and time for the real trueth about the ivory bill there not EXSTINCT its a cash issue to where these ivory bills are at because you will tear up every outboard motor you own trying to go around like these farmers want you to do so they can just open a gate and drive n and see we all got to break motors by going the long way around like they want you to do see you keep tearing motors up you ain't going to be getting to many pictures of anything and that's why I haven't got any pictures of the ivory bill woodpecker they even got it to where there's not even a good place that will even fix your boat
