  • This is my review of the Carbon X1 from Bambu Labs. My #1 all time pick for the best 3d printer. I have worked with $100 to $100,000 3d printers and this is my best pick. The best thing I could recommend to anyone in almost every situation. Compared to the AnkerMake M5 or M5C this is miles ahead in terms of print quality and performance.

    They actually recommend the glue stick on the bed to weaken the adhesion because its just a foil that sticks to the actual sheet / bed. Sometimes pla lr tpu sticks way too good and if you try to remove it you could damage the foil or create air bubbles underneath. Also they do sell pei beds like on the anker and they work pretty good but it doesn‘t work with the lidar / first layer detection (yet). But you can still use the calibration for the filament on the cool plate and then switch to the pei plate afterwards.

    Does the bambo labs X1 allow you to use 3d party PLA or material or are you grandfathered into the bambo labs filament.

    The filament run-out sensor is definitely not in the nozzle. The nozzle is the part that melts the plastic. I guess, you are referring to the extruders.

    not sure what you're talking about with the x1c, it's LOUD! I've cut some of it down by turning the fans down a little bit. But it just makes a lot of noise. I'm really hoping the announcement on the 20th fixes this like they said. I just hope it stays core x y and not going back to the bed slinger like I'm hearing rumors of. As far as bed adhesion, the cold sheet SUCKS... after I replaced it with a PEI, things are great!

      Yes after the firmware updates, I still had to tweak the fans but now it's super quiet, no problems at all.@@SangheiliSpecOp

      @@97JoMiller Thank you for the info and for getting back to me!
      I owned an M5C for a while but my research slowly opened my eyes to how much more advanced Bambu Lab was. I had no problems with the m5c and honestly it would make for a decent backup printer, but I did return it and just ordered an A1 + Ams combo yesterday. I have also done extensive research on the Bambu Lab core xy printers and decided that the X1C is worth the money, just saving up for it at the moment and doing more research. The sound of the printer wouldn't bother me too much if its within reason, so I'm trying to gauge how bad it is and from the vids i've seen, it seems to be tolerable. I appreciate your input!

      it's quiet now. I run it while on conference calls for work and don't even really notice it anymore... before it was annoying, now no biggie.@@SangheiliSpecOp

    • @JaysTechVault

      Dude I 100% agree it’s really expensive. I’ve bought only 1 $1000 printer ever: the Creality CR-10 max and that was dog water. This is at least worth the price. And also this is not for everyone, not for novices for sure.

      And please do not have this as your first printer, a cheap printer is a good way to get familiar.

    I thought all these glowing reviews of Bambu were paid shills. Got an A1 combo 3 weeks before Christmas, loved the little bed slinger I think the best printer I've ever owned. The A1 recall happened, got a full refund and bought the X1C with AMS. Fast turning into one of those shills now and I paid full price for each and every one of those printers.

      Now AnkerMake on the other hand.
      Fun fact. Bambu labs review contract just requires us to give feedback on the printer. We don’t even have to make a video. (Yet we obviously do)
      AnkerMake manually scans through and reviews the videos. I had to fight to have *any* comparison with other printers.

    • @OldManJimmy1
      @OldManJimmy1 Před 3 měsíci

      What's funny is there are things I still miss about the A1. The nozzle changes were so easy on the A1, sounds gimicky but I like the tune you could play on the servo motors, I made custom songs and made a Minion extruder cover that they eye went around as it extruded filament. ;-) @@JaysTechVault
