Hey guys back with another vlog, this time we went to sonprayag which is the base camp of Kedarnath. We took a bus from Haridwar for almost 12 to 15 hours which was quite a long journey. Please guys make sure you have vomit medicine and some snacks with you. Weather is amazing and the climate was cold.
Sonprayag is a small town located in the Rudraprayag district of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is situated at an elevation of approximately 1,820 meters (5,971 feet) above sea level and lies on the banks of the Mandakini River, a tributary of the Alaknanda River. Sonprayag is about 20 kilometers (12 miles) away from the popular pilgrimage destination of Kedarnath.
Sonprayag serves as the starting point for the trek to the holy shrine of Kedarnath, which is one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites in India. The town acts as a base camp for pilgrims and offers various facilities including accommodation, food, and medical services. Due to its strategic location, it serves as an important transit point for devotees visiting Kedarnath.
The natural beauty of Sonprayag is captivating, with picturesque views of the surrounding Himalayan mountains and lush green valleys. It offers a peaceful and serene environment, making it an ideal place for meditation and introspection.
