    Hi! Electrical engineer here hoping to provide a tip! The current rating is a maximum the power supply is capable of so 1 amp 2 amp it doesn't matter since their purpose is to be a constant voltage supply so don't worry about the current! Just make sure that everything plugged into it doesn't draw more than 2 amps or else the battery pack won't be able to keep up!

    • @FranklyBuilt
      @FranklyBuilt  Před 4 lety +16

      That’s a very good tip! Shouldve mentioned more on amperage and draw haha. But hopefully, typically. These components don’t draw that much

    I had a set of lit sunglasses with similar lenses. On the eyeball side of the dots they printed black dots over the top so it wasn't so bright in your face.
    If your dots are just lightly etched in the surface then any paint or ink will probably just fill in the etching. But if it's paint or a deep etch, then some black dots on the inside should help visibility

    • @FranklyBuilt
      @FranklyBuilt  Před 4 lety +3

      Nate Olmsted theyre a light etch of white dots on the back. Visibility is pretty good. I actually did consider painting the back sides of them all black to test some ideas

    I have a helmet with eye sockets that are quite large, could probably fit two of the LED strips on top of each other in each eye. Would it be advisable to just install one behind some tinted acetate or acrylic?

    You do a really good job of explaining where you get things and how it works! I do not have a 3D printer, but was thinking of getting and Ender5. How much total would it take to make that helmet counting the plastic, paint, and accessories?

    • @FranklyBuilt
      @FranklyBuilt  Před 3 lety +2

      The ender 5 is good! Aside from that it’s only $15-30 extra for plastic. Everything else like the programs are free!

    • @HecJ
      @HecJ Před rokem

      It depends on how much stuff you have already. Excluding the printer, you also need filament (about 2 rolls), sandpaper in various grits, filler primer, and other fillers to smooth out layer lines and then all the spray paints to color the helmet. Materials can set you back $40-60 depending on where you buy.

I don’t mean to bother you too much but I know you had an explanation on the circuitry of the helmet mechanism but could you do a tutorial similar to this explaining how you setup the motors to make the opening of the front plate on the other helmet look realistic to the movie? I thought it was really cool and am looking to do a project like this myself but I can’t find anyone that explains how to position the motors to make it opening without scraping the plastic and ruining the paint
