I'm sorry to hear about Jacques Beslot. I knew him a bit in the late 1980's. He wasn't a world champion thrower but did a good job promoting the sport, especially a 1985 tour by 4 americans all over France, a precursor to the 1987 International Team Boomerang Championships.

They don't have random spin. Aim for the middle area and you will catch some part of it. Catching below head level is safest.
