Be prepared. I went to bed before Hurricane Michael thinking it would weaken overnight and be downgraded, only to wake up realizing it became a category 4 storm. In the end it was a Cat 5 , and destroyed about 60% of the housing in my area. I was in a house the roof ripped right off of early and we had to endure. It was a nightmare.
I survived the same thing in 1992 during Hurricane Andrew in my Cutler Ridge neighborhood south of downtown Miami.....4 hours of hugging a toilet with my dog underneath me, and he shaking like a leaf !!! We only had the eye for about 10 minutes
I was in Michael as well. We were extremely lucky and had minimal damage but it was by far the most terrifying thing I've ever experienced. As the trees were falling all around the house I thought we were goners. I hope you are doing well now, much love and peace from a mutual member of the Cat 5 club ❤❤
i remember when no one paid attention to tropical depressions. first time recieving "warnings" for an unnamed storm (my employer sent this whole statement friday). its a noticable change in approach. wonder if its bc so many non-native Floridians are here now. hopefully the stress motivates them
actually this has been driven by the insurance companies, so that people get motivated to secure their homes, instead of "oh it's not that bad" attitude.....it's actually not a bad thing
it's possibly going to be devastating rain.....wind not so much as heavy tropical downpours....2 to 3 inches per hour type stuff....and along the coast you might get a tropical tornado (which are usually weak EF 0 or EF 1 strength) but if you're inland the risk of a tornado & high winds goes dramatically down, but that rain will be heavy, heavy, heavy.....so think about safety from flooding before winds....
Don't mislead people about tropical storms and a hurricane, I have been through some tropical storms that have been way worst than a hurricane. Just be prepared, and know your evacaution and flood zones. Just know that weather can change in a blink of eye. Always be prepared, plan for the the worse and pray for the best..
Stop being hysterical, I can promise you I have been through more actual hurricanes than you. Unless your property is directly on a coastline most are just annoying with power outages and downed trees. This constant need to blow things out of proportion so everyone can feel like they are a persecuted victim is the most demented aspect of our mentally ill culture now.
When asked about his plans for Florida after the flooding, DeSantis said that he would keep watching the sunsets, and wait for the Blue State handouts.
@@FreeDom-k2k latest flood alert looks like it goes around kings bays but covers Inverness and most of Crystal River. I'm right on the border. Still no worries I have a man made pond and it's at a low level for now.
@@Christopher-xd5in I have never flooded in Inverness. And you don't seem to understand what I mean by flooding when the tide comes in and floods Crystal River, like it has done many times.
@@FreeDom-k2k I just pointed out the latest flood alerts and that I'm just outside that. Are you from Florida? I'm from Clearwater. Then too many transplants took over. Last four years I have had no problems here. That's all.
Should be called "The Bad Weather Channel" since that's all they cover. Or maybe "The Southeast Weather Channel" for obvious reasons. There are 48 states in the Continental US and they cover maybe 1/2 of them. "If it ain't Rainy and Windy, it ain't weather" must be their moto. The Western half of America is on fire and TWC can't give it the time of day. 👎

Michael was one cool storm. I wish I would have been there for that.

My family and I went through something like that with hurricane Andrew in Homestead. Our house was totally destroyed.

grow up
@@theforest8882 you are unable to manage your actions and behavior, I think you're the only thing that needs to grow up.
No, it's to push the CLIMATE CRISIS MONSTER and the world will end if we don't submit to the government.
My daughter is in Daytona Beach on vacation. She’s been there a week. She’s flying out this evening if the planes don’t become grounded.
She better hunker down and stay safe.
Dress in layers and cover any exposed skin is what I heard.
I will pray for her.🙏
Don't be so dramatic
Put the coordinates up, better for us to follow, thank you
Oh no! It's going to rain in Florida!
Thx
Hi Weather Lady on channel 13 you are doing a fantastic job!!🎉
Debbie does Florida. There you have it.
I see lightning strikes everywhere make it stop! make it stop!
This is probably ganna be the first hurricane with the new TWC graphics and animations
In preparation for the next hurricane, Governor DeSantis would like to remind all Floridians to "knock on wood."

Can this smack NC hard or is it a lot of rain and light wind

Currently 125mph gusts and power has been out too.
I’ve seen a few bodies floating down my street here in Fort Lauderdale.
Please pray for us.🙏
😂😂😂😂😂😂 .... playing tonight at your local theater...... THE CLIMATE CRISIS MONSTER STRIKES AGAIN .....
This should end the drought... And you people in flood plain areas..... MOVE
Great now there’s gonna be a tornado NaWrrrrrrrrr
Much ado about nothing. Been getting warnings about the storm that doesnt exist for over a week now

😁Sounds about right for him, he needs to be replaced with a real human 😁
Laughable. FL needs nothing from you. We never have. Keep dreaming that you have anything other than disgrace and contempt as your legacy.
Thanks to Desantis, a lot of us homeowners who had insurance a year ago are now doing without.
Nice try bot.
LOL... You just stay in New Yauk... WE don't want you here...

Plus, tomorrow 11:43 pm is a low tide
Can we get better coverage in the Daytona Beach area. I understand about covering GA, SC, and NC but Florida is only about 25% of your coverage.
Time to evacuate your colon.

In Orlando and not worried....this one doesn't look bad......the only thing that could change is if it intensifies. If not just rain...
