Met Scott Wieland in a gas station I was working at in Lexington KY about 4 months before he passed away,he was very cool, had a nice conversation with me,no rock star ego, just 2 cool people chatting about music
Still in Lexington-Northside!
Awsome history my friend
He was a dick when I met him
Wow! Priceless memories!
Jason G how so🤔
This song is almost criminally underrated. What a masterpiece.
Hi I recommend a song called 'The Bond Villain' by Robert Nix
I agree. My all time favorite STP song. What a waste losing Scott at only 48.
Seriously, a MASTERPIECE.
@@pamelagray-fq3zf Oh...yeah...a waste. He left us nothing. Ungrateful...xx.
omg yes. The ethereal intro, the bass line. When they’re in town, I’m willing if you’re abel
Buffy, teletubbies, and the best STP song. RIP Scott
Rip
Don't get addicted to heroin and crack kids, doesn't end well
❤❤❤❤
who tf came up with this wild idea of a video I want to know like wtf this supposed to mean man.
😂 teletubbies 😂 hahahahahaaa so true!!
Sarah Michelle Gellar said this on the passing of Scott Weiland: "Your music will live and your demons will leave." ❤
I thought that face looked familiar
She was a huge fan of STP
So true. REST ERANED! MR Weiland rock stars always get a bad rap for their brilliance ❤
If anyone knows about demons, it's Buffy.
I hope she was right ❤
Weiland, Staley, Cornell..you can't replace these people with anyone else. They brought magic to their respective bands.
Agreed
No doubt bro
You are so right. Their music is dope, dope, dope. We lost the magic when they all died. Sad. Wish I could bring them back. :(
Cornell was worth like $60 million when committed suicide.....Mental illness like severe anxiety & depression actually becomes physically painful.
Agreed
I'm just gonna say it- Scott looked like a cross between a very young Clint Eastwood- and David Bowie! RIP!
Yes he does!!!!! Omg
Yep hahaha
Agreed. 👍
Exactly what I was thinking (in this video with the makeup anyways)
AlistinaLayne this isn’t Jeff guy?
he was a beautiful, vulnerable charismatic troubled talented soul
Thats why he blessed with such a great charisma. Many are called, few chosen for the task. Great Job STP & the Great Scott Weiland.
Perfectly said. Absolutely one of a kind.
I know, bless his heart. I guess they had to beam up Scotty. The most troubled artists are the ones who make the best music. Exhibit A.
Fucking great comment !
@@mattjones708 You watch your fucking language!
Robert DeLeo is a genius. His bass lines are creative af
it's amazing AF especially in this tune
Agreed.
Agree. The DeLeo bros were the backbone of STP
Have you seen Rick Beato's interview with him here on YT? Inspiring.
4 fucking years. Still can't believe it. Sarah Michelle Gellar once tweeted, "#RIPScottWeiland, your music will live and your demons will leave ❤ your #sourgirl". 😭❤
I thought that was her...thx for that info
@Teri Gwyn I was lucky enough to meet her and she definitely is gorgeous in and out
You can tell that lady at the end was digging scott.
That WAS Sarah Michelle gellar! I was thinking she looked a lot like her.
Buffy knows about demons too
RIP Scott Weiland
They never played this on the radio as much as it should've been, the overlooked gem in the STP single collection, exiting the grunge era and into something a bit more mature, but new.
+JIMBOTHY No they def played this a lot on the radio.
This was actually their biggest ever top 40 hit
+JIMBOTHY They don't play it on Arizona radio. Never have.
They still don't play it on Arizona radio. Such a shame.
Really? I saw this video over and over on TV. It cemented my attraction to Scott before i was even old enough to know what "hot men" were lol
this video is burned into my core memories. it unlocks crazy nostalgia.
Hi I Recommend a favourite New IndieRock Song I came across called 'The Bond Villain' By Robert Nix
You’re telling me. This was my first introduction to STP at 12 years old. I would go to sleep with the radio on and would wake up at night every time Sour Girl was played. STP’s No. 4 was the first rock album I ever owned. Had their poster on my wall growing up. Finally saw them in 2009 and nearly cried when they played this song. Also got to give Scott a pat on the back during Crackerman when he came out to the crowd. This band meant so much to teenage me! Still does to this day.
Me too. I remember
Scott fondly. STP toured California in heavy rotation including all the tiny towns in bars and clubs a long time before becoming mainstream.
Me too. I HAVE A VISCERAL reaction everytime.
haha, CORE memories.
Gorgeous tortured man. So sad. Voice is up there with Layne. Both phenomenal.
People say STP was a ripoff of other grunge bands, but this song (and many others) prove their versatility and influence.
Same thing with bands like Sponge, Silverchair and Stabbing Westward, the critics likely never really listened to their albums.
STP is way more rock N roll than grunge in my opinion.
Hell yeah! Listen to “Big Bang Baby “
I guess the public disagreed since they almost sold as much as AIC and Soundgarden combined. They were a rock band that had great lyrics and catchy riffs.... all of those bands in the early 90s were great
You're damn right. Spot on, Brian!
I met my long time gf at 16, we were together until I was 34....ovarian cancer cut her down at 36. The video captures the relationship well. RIP Jeanette. Always in my heart and dreams.
I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s not fair.
😢
I’m so sorry baby
So sorry that you lost your love to this cruel disease. It's beautiful that she lives in your memories.
My condolences
His voces when he says "The girl got reasons
They all got reasons", gives me chills..
One of the best lyric couplets of the 90s
Scott was a exceptional athlete. As a side endeavour. Plays in a band. A form of expression. What was the result. One of the most unique and exceptional voices of our time. The whole band were simply phenomenal
This is one of STPs most underrated songs.
yep
I agree. But what I’d like to know is how did Scott Weiland got Sarah Michelle Gellar to appear in this video
@@juliocaesaralcaraz9891 Because he is Scott Weiland!
Tim Murphy 🤣
???? Is one of their greatest hits
It’s still devastating that we of this era will no longer be able to see amazing artists like this in concert anymore
Dude I'm so with you. I'm 39 and looking back realizing all my idols died
I've seen STP 3x..still best live shows ever!..RIP Scott, best frontman ever!
I mean there are still some amazing artists out there modern music might not be your guys's thing but like the band I'm in has a more metal core influence and other similar bands I've heard have some of the greatest shit I've ever heard and they are just small time right now.
I saw them in Toledo at the sports arena decades ago. It was an amazing show, and one of my fondest memories....
I saw STP live over a dozen times knowing it would eventually come to an end. Best band live ever! First show was Madison Square Garden in '97. 3 hour show. Aerosmith came out to jam with them. I was blown away!
This song affects me like no other song does, such a poweful feeling of painful bittersweet nostalgia and longing for the past
Yeah, I feel the same feeling now but at the time I was sort of indifferent to this. Now nothing but nostalgia.
Yes!
I know exactly what you mean.
Wait, are you my long lost soulmate? LOL.
Just dropping in because I still wish Scott Weiland could have stayed with us a lot longer. However, I'm so glad he was here for the time that he was...true talent. I love this band. Theirs is some of the greatest music I've ever heard in my entire life. Stone Temple Pilots FOREVER!

Right there with you babe…like can’t we trade one of these mumble rappers like Takashi69 for Scott to come back? I was so rooting for him! Big painful blow finding out he hadn’t made it. My husband knew him I hey jammed together a lot. Says. Scott’s one of the best songwriters of our time. I agree. Conversations kill? Two words that sat so much more. Luv & miss him. Still pissed at god about this one.😖
I was 15 when this song came out now im 38 years time flies, they don't make music like this anymore. Thank you stp
I agree. This is one of my favorite songs by STP ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I totally agree this is such a classic

One of the greatest rock songs ever written. Heard this on the radio with the sun setting.
Beautiful combination: The song playing and the sun setting.
His dance moves were legendary!
Probably the healthiest and best Scott ever looked. They shot this video right after he got out of jail. He was sober and in amazing shape. The tour for the #4 album was absolutely amazing! I miss that Scott the most. However I miss any version of him now! RIP!
I agree, he looks really good and healthy here. I miss him.
That tour was unreal! I saw them in Charleston SC shortly after that time. He was amazing. Like the crowd was in the palm of his hands. One of the best lead men EVER!!!
No4 is and was my fav STP album, close to Core. Love this song
Hi I Recommend an indie rock song/ballad called: 'The Bond Villain' by Robert Nix
He looks good here but he still looked his best in the Mighty Joe Young and Core days.
I remember listening to this album with my brother, he committed suicide last year. We'd drive around all over Baltimore, Maryland and he'd play STP albums on full blast. This song was one of them, he'd be jamming out crazily and people would look over at us like, "WTF!" My brother's sense of humor was hilarious and I think of him every day. I still wish he was here, but I know the memories are all I have left now. I think of him every time I hear this song. RIP Peter Aaron Maturi.

RIP Scott Weiland (October 27, 1967 - December 3, 2015), aged 48
You will always be remembered as a legend.
I respect his music but we will have great memories of Scott Weiland this reminds of Fresno state men's basketball coaches and the team used played at selland arena of head coach Jerry tarkanian and his son assistant coach Danny tarkanian at Fresno state bulldogs men's team.
Scott was so natural on camera for this shoot.
I remember when I first heard this song...it was amazing...19 years later....even better than the first time... long live Scott Weiland and STP

Absolutely
Honored to have been a friend of Scott and I miss him everyday. Cherish the times when he would call me up and sing for me and conversate😊

I wish I could have met such a fantastic soul , so talented
I had tickets to see him play. I didn't go. About a month or so later he passed. One of biggest regrets of my life. Glad you knew him. I know you enjoyed every moment.
Incredible asset to the human race...the world is a darker place without him...what a voice and expression. Blueprint forever...
Lol yeah sure
I remember the way he used to dance at his performances. Guy could sing and dance like no other.
Damn... Ill never see him be in his music
His dance is amazing...I agree.
Sex God ❤️
He had that something special!
Right! He was a sexy AF !
One of my favorite basslines. Rob DeLeo is so underrated.
Very much so
I used to play that opening bass rift over and over again. It reminds me of nothing else I've ever heard.
"I'm totally addicted to bass....
A Woah ohh wooah"

Yes you're right, he has a lot of jazz inspiration in his playing.
For a guitar player to become a totally classic bassist to the bone, is pretty awesome.🤘🏻
Probably one of my most favorite songs from STP. Everyone is in sync. Scott is looking super healthy and happy. I just wish he could have stayed clean. Sarah is gorgeous, as always. I love how everyone is "illuminated" in both segments of color. Brilliant. Rest in Peace, Scott ❤🙏🏼😔

Marcoantonio Braga Scott was a born performer. One of the best frontmen of our time!
Definitely one of the band's best. And Scott was the envy of just about every guy in the world when he did this dance with Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Oh how I hated her, lmfao! He was my biggest crash when I was young.
Yeah sure. He looks like he's searching for some profound deeper level of gayness. Whatever women he got with, count me out of that bullshit.

If you don't get it, it's about innocence and then realizing how the world works and people are not so good.
What can I say...music is a great time machine. Brings Scott back to life everytime I hear him sing.
A 19 years old song that sounds like a new one. Some music does age very well.
Steve Gagné good songs don't die
Now it’s almost 20 years.
Good music is ageless.
It's a fucking stunner!
You have good taste!
This music video was directed beautifully. The teletubby things represent an unhealthy addiction that doesn't seem as bad as it is. The lighting is bright and warm which signifies the band members thinking they're happy. But when the lighting gets cold and dark, SMG shows Scott that those teletubby things are truly vile, evil, that they're not a true path to happiness and that he doesn't need them anymore. Then after, when the lighting goes back to the bright and warm, Scott is shown with Sarah dancing showing that he is truly happy with her and doesn't need the teletubbies to be happy, until she leaves him. Then the lighting goes back to the cold and dark and he relapses and caves back into his addiction as he walks away with the teletubbies hands in his.
Great Analysis ... fix perfect on the message from the Scott´s situation in that time...
That's interesting interpretation.
that's what I thought too
I was trying to figure out the meaning to this video and I think you broke it down absolutely beautifully. 💯💯💯
Possibly. Although I always thought the video was a bit perverse, Some of the scenes with them tele-tubbies look just a wee bit whack, and every bit of bad. (LOL)

I’m not a hardcore STP fan but this is my favorite song of theirs. Beautifully dark and haunting both lyrically and musically!
I can't believe how amazing this song is.
Kenneth Masters Right
Kenneth Masters Yes Ken, yes.
It's not a classic pop anthem. It's hard to understand why it even works.
I've read some music theory and I've read Aristotle's Poetics; there are rules for this sort of thing, and the classic rock anthems follow these rules.
Kind of like Siouxsie and the Banshees' Cities In Dust. I don't know how it works; it just does. Or Karen O's Maps.
Lot to do with vocals but yep.
Saw this first time 3am...trippy and tired, it was an interesting and sad video..
Such a beautifully constructed song,so melodious and haunting and those guitar flourishes in the chorus are simply stunning.
Those “flourishes” enrich this song. Put it way over the top. Usually not included in live versions though.
Don't forget Sarah Michelle Gellar as the fine woman that makes this video appealing.

My fav STP song.
Important to note that this period was one of Scott's very, very rare complete sobriety, he was clean during this period both recording the album No. 4 all the way through this video and a couple months after. Proof Scott didn't need drugs to be mesmerizingly creative. NOT saying drugs are bad even, far from the point, but there are some that think, and Scott may have been one of them, his brilliance was drug fueled. Far from it, Scott's brilliance was Scott fueled. Ridiculsouly talented man.
I did not know that this was a sober time for Scott Weiland. thanks
Why... I'm begging why can't anything come close to this nowadays? This song is so perfectly timeless. It's like a gem because it's never played on the radio therefore we aren't burned out on it.
+fla playa I think the same way. There is something about this song that is hard to describe. I thought maybe this was just something in my mind, but reading a lot of the comments here it seems many people feel the same way.
I rank this on my top ten all time favorites.
Scott Weiland's writing capabilities here are almost Godlike. Someone needs to invent this sound again.
this song did and still does get radio play on alternative stations.
lashonda collins Yeah I actually came from "Lithium" on Sirius. Hadn't heard the song in many years.
RIP Scott Weiland, your music touched many. You will live on through us bro.
We get a different Scott Weiland with every song in his physical appearance, but that powerful voice never waivered, no matter what his offstage habits were. By this period in his life, as you can plainly see, especially if you compare his presence from "Big Bang Baby", the heroin had made him gaunt, though he looks lean as if he worked at it religiously. He went through periods of sobriety & worked out when he was, then relapse, extreme weight loss causing gauntness, he became almost reptilian. Gone too soon, just 48, a father who left behind small children, a family who will gather without his presence but the memory. Rest easy, wherever it is we go when its our time. May your music forever remain, your presence on this earth, in this life, captured in the songs you sang.
Great underrated tune by them. ALbum was often overlooked. Not by views, by radio recognition. Eternity matters. Read and sincerely believe GOspel of Grace 1 corinthians 15 1-4 for salvation. Taught by our apostle in this age of Grace. Paul. NOt the 12. Read matthew 10; 5-6 confirms it. Act 9 10-16 proves the Ascended Lord Jesus, after his resuurrection, chose saul/Paul to be todays apostle. WIth the Gospel of Grace. Happy New year.
My ex just left 3 behind. He suicided and he was 53. These men that leave us dont realise the love they have left behind at the time. God bless them all xx

Scott states to all it was his break up and how he/ they saw her as a person after the split up and in there he indicated his depression and how he sees him self.
Scott also wrote"he was a Superman but looks are deceiving.“ This was him telling everyone he was putting up a front for EVERYONE and in his real life he is broken/ depressed.
I have a friend whom worked with him and was there when this album was created.

Man, Scott Weiland had something special. Dude could go from such raw, angry power to genuine tenderness, incredible range of legit emotions that never felt contrived or cheesy or anything. Beautiful, beautiful song.
He was underrated
But great
He's so fucking sexy!!!! Damn!!!!
He was....everything, kurt Cobain levels of talent, beauty and intensity, chris Cornell too
And he was a weird dancer
I'm convinced Scott made this video just so he could spoon with Buffy. Brilliant.
We would have all done the same if we could have. Cheers!
Yeah he watched her in Buffy, Vampier Slayer while he was in jail. Cool story about how he asked her to be in the video because of that stint.
And, also those various Easter bunnies👀
Lucky Scott to hang with SMG's darkest part.
LOLOLOLOL
Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
They both look pretty into it!
😎
Overall a masterpiece. The bass is awesome!
This song is absolutely brilliant. RIP Scott.
For me, this song/video hits all the marks:, composition, instrumentation, lyrics, atmosphere, musicianship, and last, but not least vocals. Scott Weiland was hot AF; his dance moves were sensual beyond words -- poetry in motion. Love the chemistry between him and beautiful, young Sarah Michelle Gellar in this video as well. RIP Scott
He had a good voice Ill give you that.....but the are many reasons why he was kicked out of the band.
perfectly said
I really don't think she was ever all that, she looked the best in cruel intentions, her nose idk. Lol
Now that he is gone this song and film clip have an even more haunting ambience. RIP Scott Weiland
Agreed. Man, what a beautiful song. So sad today
+Peter Bell true, especially since he looks like a fucking crackhead in this video
+t rex what a wonderfully brilliant, and insightful thing to say! I'm sure you have even more you've contributed to other comment threads. I'm sure you'll leave just as much of a lasting creative imprint as Mr. Weiland did.
+t rex Said from someone who doesn't have the guts to show their own face... Wow, you really impressed us.
+t rex he is super hot in this vid. I've always thought so. he moves like dionysis and pierces with his eyes. sexy as fuck.
I see this video in my mind every time I hear this song. Scott & Sarah are simply breathtaking together! The way they move together, I absolutely love them together! Sad they didn't make a kid together, and so sad Scott's life was cut so short.
Prayers hes at peace, finally, but he is so missed!!
STP's best song IMO.
RIP Scott Weiland you will always be the voice of the grunge too me!!! Love you man!
Mee too :-(
+cky2kdunn Im fuxkimg so mad ritgh now . not him . his beautiful songs . me and my brother loved all that era the 90s and feels a bit of me is gone now too
+cky2kdunn Damn straight.
STP was my first favorite band. Core album
+dssin I just can't believe he's gone!! I loved STP.. Guess this is the felling of getting old fells like!
An acid trip gone horrifying wrong, and amazing at the same time.
The bass on this is other worldly.
I just noticed that right now for the first time ever!!
The basslines on many STP songs are just bonkers but extremely fun to play once you figure them out.
This is bigtime about opioid addiction - the artistry and the downside. It is heartbreaking to watch. RIP one of the best vocalists of that era, I am a huge fan.
I wrote a letter to him part of a radio station contest in Mexico Guadalajara back in early 90s (Kurt Cobain had just died ). I was 15 years old nobody knew in my family; one day I came home and my mom asked me if I had sent a letter to a radio station because I won. The point is I couldn’t go to New York and meet him being that the prize because of my lack of visa. I was devastated. I wrote it in English and said “we don’t want another Kurt Cobain dying. The point of the letter was to write to him after he got out of rehab the first time.
The chorus hits like a 60s ballad. This song hits in the feels.
Very Beatlesque.
Reminds me of Bread, or The Association…
Agree--I feel the same about Lady Picture Show. (On a side note, always felt the same way about Heaven Beside You by Alice in Chains).
Reminds me of sixties also
I bet someone could do a great mashup of this with a 60s pop song.
That bass player is killing it
He always did kill it. Every single song!
Robert DeLeo it's a fucking bass god
stp bassist always kills it!
HE KILLED IT A LOT!
Love the chord choices in this song, and the bass compliments it beautifully.
Agreed. ...Killin' it.
Scott was absolutely amazing! Everything about him was magical. Lightning in a bottle type of being. ✨💫Such a one of a kind. He is still so greatly missed. 🙏💖
This song is so amazing I can't get over it.
Hi I recommend a song called 'The Bond Villain' by Robert Nix
No...there's no getting over how amazing are so many STP songs. Just far more interesting than any other of the "grunge" bands.
this is my favorite Stone Temple Pilots video
Kinda hard to beat.
yes it is good with Sara
Joseph Jucutan ya think? ;)
nice
felipe valentim yea also mine bro.. And the song is very good to...
"I was a superman but looks are deceiving..." These lyrics break me sometimes.
Yeah that one hits me too. 6 years ago, I was 245lbs with a six pack. The mental health eventually destroyed my physical health.
I remember my dad came in while watching the live version of this song at the Rolling Rock Town Fair. When he watched the video, he said, "That guy reminds me of Bowie." Haha.
@@orellisupplyl4178 now that you mention it, he sure kinda does, hehe
And rightly, so SAVe yourself
It hurts too. Still does. This song before my relationship was always a favourite. After she broke up, it took new meaning. I realize the pain I have in me and how I failed her as a partner.
I miss him so much!!!💔
Heavenly Father, may it be your will that Scott’s soul is at peace.
Amen
You can best believe God is with Scott Weiland. He was a pure soul ❤
Amen
2022? Still sounds as good as ever❤❤❤
Me 🙋🏻♀️
Sarah Michelle Gellar posted a tribute on her Instagram saying you will always be remembered
I new that was her!!! but RIP Scott
Nice that SMG pay her respect to Scott passing. Sarah and Scott were magical in the video.
She always seems like a kind, very down to earth lady. She always seems like someone you know from school or something, then remember, Oh yeah, TV and movies. I remember when they made this video, I watched it over and over and over....
+Y2Jin99 Never been a huge fan of hers, but i have to admit that was very sweet of her
+Jae R what she actually said:
" your music will live and your demons will leave
Masterpiece! Some voices will never be silent!! Scott Weiland was one of them!!!❤
This will always be such a beautiful song and video. RIP Scott, you can be at peace now
I'm glad your not in pain anymore, Mr. Weiland. *May your Soul R.I.P.*
Why is he not in pain anymore?
*(Deceased)*
???????

@ Ok I will look again.
A timeless classic
I agree
RIP Scott @@felipealvarez5228
These legends with surreal voices, all left us too young...Morrison, Weiland, Cornell, Hutchence.
