Been agreeing with everything you have shared, but I'll stop and strongly agree with you on vehicle repair. I think with the prices on new vehicles and trucks running $65K plus and crappy used car inventory, I think people will start maintaining and keeping their used cars longer.

A few yrs ago my 2013 F150 ecoboost had 125k miles, it needed a water pump. I bought the pump for $125 & changed it myself with an 8 and 10mm 1/4" drive socket and ratchet. Last year at 181k miles, that truck thru a rod. Ford wanted 12 to 15k to put a reman motor in it, and didnt know when they could get one. I found a used motor in Wisconsin, bought it and had it shipped to Michigan for a grand total of $5900. I put it in myself, piece of cake. I hadnt done a motor since high school in the 80's but it was much easier then back then. Every wire had its own proprietart conection, it was plug and play. Saved 5 to 10 grand, took me a month in my driveway.. bottom line, what I didnt know, youtube did. Dont be afraid to tackle your problems.

If the electric power goes out and the power company estimates it will take six months or longer to restore power, my plan is to replace my 1 HP well pump with an Earth Straw hand pump, plus 150 ft. of flexible line I purchased via Lehman's hardware in Kidron, Ohio. Bilson makes a stainless steel hand pump for water wells too. If I had the money, I'd get a new well dug and put a hand pump on it. Get a good supply of replacement seals for it as well. When the old seals wear out, pull it up and replace them. I have a bicycle with run flat tires, in case the gas stations close. Make a plan for your old age too. None of us are getting any younger.

For fuel for my generator, I have 10 five gallon containers that I rotate one container weekly into my truck & refill the container & add fuel stabilizer . Thus I rotate my stored gas every 10 weeks. If electric goes down I plan to use only about a gallon of fuel per day, so I feel I could go about two months of electric being out with no problem. After fuel is gone it’s up to my home built solar system.

If yall ever see any hand tools or garden tools made by Kobalt, even if they are broke, pick them up. You can take them back for new tools at Lowes. I found a Kobalt shovel that looks like somebody ran over. I just returned it for a new shovel. You can do the same thing with tools from Home Depot.
I switched to a Katadyn and MSR water filter that backpackers use while on the trails. I have one of these in each of my vehicles. These are more expensive, but they will attach to most bladder systems.
I bought a 2005 Grand Cherokee for a good price, now it is my backup vehicle just in case I need it.

You might warn people that if they have any chance at all of an earthquake to put boards or even just bungee cords on the pantry shelves to keep items from shaking off the shelves.

you should also have a small hand held geiger counter in case of fallout in the water sources. a good one is around $140. oil lamps with extra oil to put near plumbing in case of power outage freezing.

One thing you can do when you have a small stream by your house is build your own dam. if the shtf that way the water can build up and you can possibly take a bath in there to.

Wow I listed to all 44 min and 39 seconds. The only thing I would suggest to all the viewers is to not stock up on too much bleach because it does only have a shelf life 6 months to a year and becomes ineffective. You need to purchase some sodium hypochlorite (which has a pretty much infinite shelf life) and make the bleach yourself to use for sanitizing surfaces and for your drinking water.

CHECK with your local assessors office to see if they accept silver and gold for paying your taxes. some counties here in idaho do.

I wish I'd had that sting cream about a decade ago. I was clearing some brush and needed to take a break so I chopped into an old stump with my machete to have both hands free. I heard a vibration sound that at first I thought was a really weird sound because the stump was too soft to still be making the machete sound like that....then the vibration sound got louder and I started feeling pinches all over. Glad I'm not (or at least wasnt) allergic or based on how many times I got bit and stung id be dead many times over. And yeah like they say the bite is worse than he sting.

Not sure why more people don’t consider solar for SHTF bugging in. Compared to a generator you’ll have 10+ years of power off of solar panels versus whenever you run out of gas for your generator.
The same goes for electric vehicles, they may not be great but once you run out of oil and gas your ICE car is essentially a brick.

Hopefully your well pump will work in a power outage e cause you have a backup power supply that can power a 220 well pump.

Bugging in is the primary strategy. Bugging out is secondary and you lose a lot when that decision is made. The vast majority of YT SHTF videos cover bugging out
 simply the wring focus imo.

Bugging out really only makes sense if you're in an apartment or the incoming disaster is something like a volcano but even then it's situational.

The best takeaway from all this.....most people on the internet have no idea what they're talking about, especially commenters. Don't waste money on "gray man" bags, the bags you have will work fine and someone with ANY backpack on will be a target period. Just get a rain cover in the color you want for "gray man" and plan for your area and objective not the fantasy commenters think you need to, sure you can get some good ideas from comments but many of them have never even got off the couch......
