Do those items have instructions? Water proof instructions? Can you get a pair of hiking boots or such, the person has worn in? Maybe say you want to recycle them? You could add good socks and a cheap change of clothes. A fire steel for a non prepper?? Without training they will probably misuse the lifestraw...eg: touching drinking part with contaminated hands etc.

Hello everybody. I have been storing supplies for a while. I have water. But I just started to look at the city fire hydrant on my property as a potential resource to use. I have multiple purification methods I would use to clean the water. But my question is how long would that water stay pressurized for me. Any city or water workers in the comments?

Something I never see anyone talk about when it comes to prepping is fire protection. I never see a fire extinguisher or blanket. the risk of fire will be greater in a crisis because you will be tired, stressed, you are using candles and you may never have used an alcohol burner before.

Like the setup and I get calling at a base camp but any real bug out setup I believe should be portable just by yourself basically where you can carry on your back or just what you can carry but if you can afford and have the ability to get all the extra luxury stuff absolutely do it it'll make your life so much easier

With the PVC end caps, take a torch and melt the together and no water can get in. Also look into replacing the air with nitrogen to keep them dry and no oxygen.
