Pro-Palestinian protests grow across Canadian universities

- The number of protest encampments at university campuses is growing in Canada. Tents have been pitched at the University of Toronto’s downtown campus to call on the institution to cut ties with Israel over the ongoing war in Gaza.
Quebec’s premier called for an end to the pro-Palestinian encampments at McGill University, saying he expected police to dismantle the tents.
Montreal police said they’re still evaluating the situation and so far it has been peaceful, so it’s not in the interests of the police or the city to immediately intervene.
This is no different than 1938 Germany.
This is not comparable to the holocaust.

When the Canadian government who gets lobbied by pro-Israel lobbies decides to fund oppression and Universities and companies do business with an apartheid regime that’s complacency and result is oppression and massacre of innocent people, those people didn’t choose that. So before we start becoming selfish while we sit in our comfortable heated house with freedom and peace on land that was stolen and gained as part of ethnic cleansing of indigenous people, lets think about how we are not separated and not connected to what’s happening in that part of the world. Western capitalist societies are built on the blood and conflict of foreign countries across the world far away from us. Lets not be delusional. Also supporting a horrific and most horrible genocide of our modern times doesn’t mean that issues in Canada are not to be considered, it doesn’t need to be one or the other. It's also unsettling to see the UCLA students attacked from off campus by a mob the night before the police removed the tents. Still waiting on those arrests.
Imagine paying thousands of dollars for tuition and taking loans just to see people on campus supporting a war their country didnt last more than a day.
Moral support for terrorism should be just as illegal as material support.
I think that freedom of speech should take precedence over even that.
But these people are taking actions that do go beyond that.
Opposing war, Opposing genocide, and Support for Terror are not the same things. Setting up Tents and Terror is not the same thing. Settle down. It's going to be okay.

Umm, it seems like something is missing in these protests. There are innocent victims on BOTH sides, Palestinian and Israeli. Stop punishing or discriminating against innocent people on both sides for choices made by their governing leaders. Support the innocent and you indirectly send those suffering on both sides HOPE. Hold vigils of support also. Protest on behalf of the innocent, it is not about one side or the other and if you protest for the freeing of Palestine, then you should include the Palestinians being free from oppression by Hamas.
