GREAT idea!! Thanks Capt Dave!
Good job, MacGyver. Great idea painting the non slip paint on the coupler.
OF COURSE, then I used the rest of the can of ''COAT-IT'' over that.
Instead of drilling the tongue of the trailer, you could have cut 3/8" or 1/2" off the back of the coupler and got the holes a lot closer to matching.
It was easier to just drill than to cut all that steel, and exposing raw steel.
Isn't it funny how every so often 1 little tool or bit or something that's tucked away and doesn't get used much just as you said , "saves the day". /lets you finish a project or a repair.Good to go for another 17 years Capt Dave!!! Well at least for couplers anyway. As always thanks for sharing.
I have used and abused that harbor freight bit and it's cousins to near death and they keep working. When I do something it'll last for sure. It's my ultimate goal. Now if my batteries would have just lasted longer.....gotta call ELON!
Those harbor freight step bits are awesome. Its amazing how much abuse they can take👍
dave, with that paint job, your coupler should be bullet proof for many years.
Yep, like the video title, ""over due, and over done"". Making things last, is my 2nd job.
I need to do this. Mine just looks flimsy. And has free play. I want some solid with no free play
yep, if a safety issue as mine was becoming. Time to replace.
I need to swap mine out too. Thanks
Those straps over the top in the beginning, were SAFETY STRAPS I made, incase it broke in half, it was so rusty!
