T if you believe this video then you're a fool believing everything on Internet. That isn't 3d shadow, it's 2d because the surface it's casted onto is 2d. If you cast a shadow on thick fog, you'll see it has width, height and depth. If you cast a shadow on a 3d chair, the shadow will conform to that 3d object making it 3d shadow. If you cast shadow from 4d light onto 4d object then the shadow will be 4d
For anyone having trouble understanding what seeing 4D in 3D even means, think about it like this: Imagine you're holding an apple. Now slice that apple at any point, from any angle. The yellow surface of your slice is a 2D slice of the 3D apple. Visualising something 4D in 3D is basically like taking a 4D apple, slicing it, then looking at the yellow surface of it.

interesting how your way of seeing the 4th dimension in a game works in such an intelligent and interesting way One thing I have a speculation is that possibly 2D walls are not in 3D like photos of a room I saw this while looking at the shadow of the hypercube well and I'm sure you can see everything So maybe they have 1d walls, which means the only depth that should exist is walls that look like entire rooms.
If you're talking about the "smaller cube inside a bigger cube" style of hypercube, what you're looking at is a wireframe of a hypercube. In other words, it doesn't have "walls", just edges. A hypercube with actual walls seen from that angle would just look like a cube, since the rest of it is "inside" (actually "behind") the rest of the cube.
Is it really strange that the way we move a cube in real life in the game looks so much like if you were moving one room from another in a circular shape?
I have a question, we swing and make it move in the 3d world, but can we actually swing in 4d or do we just have to intersect the 3d world due to interactions with the 4th we move in that dimension?
You can swing in any direction in 4D but the camera still only sees one 3d slice of the 4d scene at a time. Some rotations change your aiming direction, others do not. Think about 'pitch' and 'yaw' on an airplane compared to 'roll'.
Ohhh ok my brother.. Just its Trippy isn't it... Projection,, transformation from 4 to 2... It's very trippy... A 4d object casts a 3d shadow which casts a 2d shadow which casts a 1d shadow, yes. (The 1d shadow is impossible to see, since it's only a line of some length and 0 width.)
I’m just trying to understand why in the infame example you showed the “Shadow” or plane being projected from that 3D cube is smaller than the fiber itself. When you show the shadow from the red sphere the shadows diameter is equal to that of the sphere but in the example afterward the projection seems smaller than the cube that’s projecting it
I think that's just an illusion because the shadow is farther from the camera than my hand holding the cube. In reality, the shadow is slightly larger than the cube since the "light source" isn't infinitely far away like in the simulation.
its simple, 3d objects seem 2d and 4d objects seem 3d, a cube would look like a square but a 4d one would look like a cube, you cant see the whole look or shape of an object in a 3d dimension but you can see all the sides and the whole shape of a cube in a 4d dimension. also if you take a 3d cube it will cast a 2d shadow but if you take a 4d cube it will cast a 3d shadow, yes a 3d shadow i know its confusing because we have never or will ever experience it
That's false. 4d object from perspective of 3d light source onto 3d surface casts 2d shadow, but the shadow itself depends on the object beneath it. If shadow is casted onto flat table, which is 2d, then shadow is 2d. If shadow is casted into thick fog or a chair, then it's 3d. If a 4d light source casts a shadow from 2d object on a 4d object, it's gonna be 4d shadow.
You could imagine the 4th dimension as time, meaning the 3 dimension world can somehow change their shape/color/other properties as we go through the 4th axis, or time, so right now a leaf is on a tree, 1 day later, it has fallen to the ground, 1 day later, it disappears somewhere, 1 millenium later, the tree died. Now change the time into this weird 4th axis (ana kata??) And basically you got the same thing as real world. But of course while in the real world every thing moves because of time, and their movement can be and has been studied into physical phenomenon that can be calculated according to time, this 4th dimension is weird, because, well they dont really exist in our life, just a theory. Same thing as a fire that shape like this 🔥, if you cut the shape into 2D space of xy, you can basically get a circle that goes from 0 radius, into a maximum, then go smaller into 0 again, this happen as we go through the 3rd dimension of z (height). We understand why that happen because we can see the whole fire in 3rd dimension and we studied physic (from vision at first, then make equation etc). But the same thing actually happen in the time axis, as the fire start at a time (t=0) and will get bigger and bigger until a point of maximum size, then run out of fuel, and became smaller and smaller until it disappears (t=n), this also happen as we go through the time axis, but this happen naturally. So this short just showed us how reality can change as we go through this simulated 4th dimension, but they change randomly according to the data inputted, whether they are procedural generation or not, i dont know. But we can see they change randomly, because we've never studied how they change and make them into a branch of science that can be explained into calculation and day to day "common sense"
Time is not a spacial dimension, it is property of space that can exist in any number of spacial dimensions! Time also doesn't have an opposite direction, or any direction at all fo that manner, & claiming that the 4th dimension which is trength, is time, is like a 2D flatlander claiming the 3rd dimension is time, instead of up & down, & that it's the same thing a time travel, that's how that works & we already know from experience, & since we're talking about spacial dimensions, we can infer that the 4th spacial dimension trength does not equal time travel, only a sharletain would believe that!
