    Really appreciate you making all these videos. Chorfs are easily the most complex faction I've played yet and your videos have helped a lot. I made a whole playlist to refer to whenever I need to be reminded of things. You make up 80% of the videos. The other being indypride bull centaur doomstack and battlesey's easy start video that is pretty much just recruit hobgobs just as you did lol.

    FYI for the RoC campaign, any of the same cities that can be reached will give the same rewards as in the video The RoC map has a couple locations that are not destinations on the IE map and they give the following:
    Titan's Notch - Bones of the Maw
    The Palace of Ruin - Mirror Shield
    which means there's no way to get (with caravans, as far as I can tell) these legendary items in RoC:
    Eternal Servitude
    Spiked Whip

Really makes me wonder what we can get or if we can get anything, since you already get so many items for free every few turns. Could you maybe make an in depth guide on what currencies to prioritise? Like should I build for armaments production and exchange them for something else via convoys to get overall more value since armaments are more of an end product than say material or labor? Is sacrificing laborers for gold worth it? Kind of difficult to know when there are 5 different currencies(gold, labor, confluance, materials, armaments). I know you don't really need armaments though, you can go full goblin mode with multiple goblin armies.

    • @MercytheMad
      @MercytheMad  Před rokem +6

      You technically can* go full hobgoblin mode, but it's probably not optimal. The more you rely on hobgoblin trash the less armaments you need but you will still want some for building your hero capacity buildings and selling on convoys etc. if you want to unlock the full power of the chaos Dwarfs then pumping armaments for super buffed troops is pretty important.

      @@MercytheMad hmm ok

    • @cheato1163
      @cheato1163 Před rokem +8

      The main thing to prioritise is raw materials as they will push your tower. Higher level towers give you access to better units and ways to improve your economy as better units means more labour, more labour means more rushing. You can cheese eco by raiding the T5 conclave settlement and mass sacrificing but generally speaking you want to try and push raw materials to around 1k per turn and then keep it there and push armaments. Early on the drill and a single factory can give you enough armaments for an army with a couple upgrades. For every +500 armaments id say try and add another 250 raw materials. If you reach 2-3k raw mats you can prob maintain that and focus full on raw. As for gold if you have some armies going around fighting you can largely ignore gold income from buildings and play a sort of "raiders" economy. Also helps theres a ton of ways to reduce global recruitment duration. This is my opinion and math inclined players may be able to come up with an ideal solution but so far this worked for me, cant say its a guaranteed guide however.

    • @IceNinja18
      @IceNinja18 Před rokem +2

      I've been relying heavily on labor to accomplish my goals. You need money to use that labor so I often get a surplus and then sell that labor to upgrade my outposts. I then if possible use surplus labor to rush building upgrades so I can get my economy going early. Convoys are a great tool and I usually use them exclusively for labor. Zhatan the black is great for this as he can send out two right out of the gate. A great starting method is to get the second eco research that grants convoy recruitment levels. Send out your convoy(s) at turn 6 for labor, prioritizing close gold for labor(aim for at least 400 labor for 1500 gold). Then you can get a labor surplus and along with sacking settlements you can rush buildings and get what you need sooner. Also, I recommend getting a tier 2 tower on your second settlement using some enclave influence so you can start getting more blunderbusses and artillery in your army. It's kind of a trade off though since it's also good to get the extra raw materials using your enclave influence. Prioritize the hobgoblin building even in your tower for early game power. I usually even rush the building and recruit units turn 1.

    I'd say radiating spike is much more of a necessity than the spiked whip, overseers don't get a skill that gives perfect vigour and if you take perfect vigour on a sorcerer prophet in their skill tree then you lock out the other 2 options. the vigour loss reduction for army and replenishment rate is much better while the cooldown and +winds of magic is useful if your RNG with the winds is garbage, prophets can have a character trait that gives them perfect vigour though called vengeful but you can't assume you'll always find one, also you could give the spike to your legendary lord. Now let's look at sundering attack, centaur heroes can get it as a trait, castellans get it as a skill and more importantly, you can give all your melee dwarves sundering which kind of makes spiked whip pointless outside of control management.

    • @ruukinen
      @ruukinen Před rokem +1

      Perfect vigour is pretty trivial to get on any lord with spend x amount of time far away from your capital trait. An item that only gives perfect vigour isn't very good especially since Chorfs have a bunch of trinkets that are very good from the tower slots.

    • @NightWhisper8462
      @NightWhisper8462 Před rokem +1

      @@ruukinen It's useful in the early game and mid game, outside of that yes it is pretty minor to irrelevant assuming you can get the trait, the trait isn't spending time away from your capital it is fighting battles away from your capital, the problem is that you can be quite far away and still not have it trigger (I'm Astragoth currently fighting Wurrzag in the badlands for the past 10-15 turns and it still hasn't given me the trait even though I have a battle pretty much every 2 turns). Yes, there are good things you can get from the tower but guess what that involves? RNG and hoping the AI chorfs don't fight you for it.
      My whole point was that putting spiked whip in as something to get instead of radiating spike made no sense as the benefit from spike is much better than the whip, the whip is basically something you stick on a centaur hero to help public order in high workload areas but you need a stupidly high workload to ever need an extra +4, not to mention the time it takes to send a convoy to Karond Kar, you can complete 2 full convoy routes before you ever complete a Karond Kar route (assuming no shortcuts) so you only want to send one in that direction if you are good for all resources for the foreseeable future and can handle the slower convoy payout or you have a second convoy.

    • @ruukinen
      @ruukinen Před rokem +1

      @@NightWhisper8462 It gives %WS, flat AP and sundering attacks. It almost certainly is better than perfect vigour.
      It's not really that RNG for the tower slots either. You can only roll the race specific rare items from it, the pool of which isn't that big and almost all of them are better than just perfect vigour.

    • @NightWhisper8462
      @NightWhisper8462 Před rokem +1

      @@ruukinen Can definitely tell you that you are wrong about it being race-specific items because Tricksters helm isn't race specific, nor is Armour of Destiny or the Obsidian lodestone (the green talisman that gives you 20% spell res) and yet you can get them from the tower.
      10 flat AP isn't anything special, 10%WS is nice but isn't amazing either and thus we come to sundering which isn't that special or useful until you fight decently armoured units like dwarves by which point you'll either have castellans who get it as a skill and can apply it at range, Taur'roks who can get it as a trait or you can give your entire melee line sundering which would be much more impactful, vigour is a lot more useful as once you get even to the winded state the benefit of 10%WS and +10 AP basically disappear. Sending your convoy on a 13 turn trip to get something that is mediocre at best and can honestly be matched by green items does not really put it in a useful place, the spike however can be gotten in 5 turns and gives you access to a strong ability for your LL early on so unless you are insanely lucky you won't have a decent enchanted item by turn 15.
      I do recommend going and finding how just how much of an impact vigour has on a unit or lords stats as you'll see perfect vigour being a lot stronger than it sounds, perfect vigour tends to be meh when it comes to squishy casters as most of the stats affected they don't actually care about but chorf casters are pretty good when it comes to a melee fight.

      @
      NightWhisper Great points!
      I Spiked Whip it for the control management mostly. The sundering attack is a bonus though.
      Re: Radiating Spike - Agree with al your points, but there is also the opportunity cost, it takes an enchanted item slot. You also have healing potions and Guantlets of Bazherak (20%Phys) for that slot. For a one man doomstack you would want the gauntlets. For general use I would usually take the healing potion.
      I would still use the Spike if I had it, but definitely not on my must have/priority list.
