Kubrick could not have been more wrong about the space station that would be in orbit by 2001 in his 1968 movie - spinning with artificial gravity, futuristic & HUGE in size inside & out, businessmen ready, let alone the huge moon base & shuttles shown in his movie.
I know i like the clausterphobic aspect of this movie.

2010: The Year We Make Contact ( The Sequel to 2001 : A Space Odyssey ) had The Same concept. But the Astronauts and Cosmonauts did not kill each other.
Why bother taking control of the space station? It has limited food, water and air. It can't be used to repopulate the Earth.

You have to watch the film to find out exactly why they are ordered to seize control of the space station. It’s revealed that the Russians on board the ship have a vaccine to cure radiation sickness. That’s why either country is told to take over because once one country lands back on earth, they need that vaccine to cure the people affected by fallout.

Question: if war broke out between the US and Russia why would the ISS even be a point of contention? "We have received orders to take the ISS." From who? NASA? And why? I dont know much about the ISS but I cant imagine who "has" it would make a difference in such a war.

It's a critique about the madness of war (especially nuclear war). Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) was a policy during the cold war, and the proliferation of existing nukes means this policy is still in force. It is madness, as is the idea of fighting for a space station. Lots and lots of layers here, and I'm looking forward to seeing this and talking about it.@@saschaherrmann1665

Because In the movie it is revealed that the Russians on board have a vaccine to cure radiation sickness. So each country wants to get ahold of that vaccine. If only the Russians return to earth with the vaccine, the United States is screwed. If the United States returns with the vaccine, the Russians are screwed.

Would've been a great movie if there was an actual ending.
There was an ending. If it went any further then you would have had to keep the movie going for another 2 hours so I think it ended at a perfect spot. They had no destination but knew they would make it back to Earth with the vaccine. 1 Russian and 1 American. They didn’t want to respond to commands to land in either country because both of them wanted everyone to get this vaccine to cure the world affected instead of it just getting into the hands of one country and curing only its own people.
Premise of story: That is right, a black lesbian saves the world from space, on the ISS! It is pathetic!

Hey Moonfall knew it was a joke and took the piss out of itself. This looks like they’ve made a serious film, which everyone will just think was crap.
I’m a big fan of space movies but this does look really awesome I just wish that NASA would make a ps5 game where you are playing your character as an astronaut and you have to go through training and simulation to prepare yourself for space flight and then you can go into the space shuttle and get shot into space and board the I.S.S. But once you get there you do series of missions but then disasters happen like a few showers of meteor fragments hit the station and you have to be able to do space walk to repair the station and repair broken components and coms from the debris damage and other stuff like that so it basically makes you feel like you’re in space exploration and side missions as a fan of space it gives you a chance to feel what it’s really like for people who really can’t afford to do that in real life cost to much money to do that so playing it on a ps5 game that would be awesome and amazingly cool
Why did they make the ISS orbit look so incredibly high? At ~250 MI the curvature of the earth would be very slight, and you wouldn't be able to see all of north America in a single frame...

Well there's probably some truth in the actually scenario when it comes to earth reaction to the war scenario. But I'm so trusting the Scientists onboard to be civilized.
Of the few movies I am attending these days, I always go in wondering what agenda Hollywood will be pushing. It wasn't long before I could see they were pushing the lesbian, strong black super smart astronaut doctor woman agenda (although in reality if she had made it that far in the space program she would have most likely been selected over many much more qualified White astronauts just because of her skin color but we know how the whole diversity thing is going now, basically color over qualifications, you know, check the box). In addition to the super Black woman agenda I also could see as a bonus, the evil white guy agenda along with the anti-nuclear agenda. Overall, if you can get past the producers pushing the agendas it wasn't too bad of a movie. There were some spots that where kind of funny. One being when they were trying to show weightlessness you could see the wire connected to the Black woman's ass as she floated around the cabin. And the ending was rather unsatisfying...but thanks to the Black woman being a lesbian at least there was not going to be a scene with her kissing the White male cosmonaut.

Not a good movie… they make you feel stupid. i mean, it’s obvious there’s a nuclear war down there. instead of ignoring what they saw. Why not investigate and have a meeting on what to do, like how are they gonna survive with such limited food supplies. Or how to go back to earth etc.. But instead they’re killing each other like an idiot. This movie make’s you believe that astronauts are stupids. Protagonists go to army and a doctor, but cannot analyze the situation and make a good decision she’s acting like a ten year old child.. i did not finish watching this movie. Boring.. last thing, Astronauts are not stupids ok!!
