    Great video on how to my son bought me that new Revell AAR for Christmas really nice kit like how it was packaged - Revell of Germany

  • @michaelhintzmikesminiature1812

    I've wanted to start this kit myself. I happy to see you start it. Looking forward to see how you correct the issues that are incorrect with it. I'm glad I have a Duster in my parts stash. I'll be watching

      Thank you! I'll do a video or two on this build but I will show any changes I make to the kit. You may need the upper radiator hose from the duster as well!

    Another great project,and the cuda is probably my favorite kit to build! Like yourself I love accuracy and I have a sinking feeling when I realized the 5 aar cudas ive completed all have the hemi rear diff, not the 8 1/4.... I will have too change all of them now 😅. ( unfortunatly these cars are pretty rare in Australia to get to see the real thing) Great tutorial and looks like i'll be doing the same, i'll be raiding my stash of chargers and dusters to get the diff centres and doing a bit more research on the real thing for future builds 😆👍

      Thanks! It is a tough call. This is a nice kit so it seams worth fixing the few things that are wrong on the kit that I see. Another that I didn't notice yet but was pointed out was the fact that the upper radiator hose should go to the drivers side of the radiator and not the pass side. Big block radiators go to the pass side so that was also correct on the Hemi Cuda but not correct for a small block 340. I will fix that also. Some kits are almost a curse to research as you start to find out how wrong it really is and then I have to decide if I want to fix it or not. Many of my builds just sit on the shelf when I'm done so that is why I will correct some and not others.

    With all the time spent making your kits historically accurate, I HOPE you have company over for the holidays, or just for dinner,and when you all finish dinner and D-sert, the men head to your
    "Man cave" and show off your hard work and artistic talents. I have a similar story. Whenever I go to my Sister and brother in laws home. This is exactly what we do. Paul doesn't get into making his models perfect, and he certainly does not detail them with sparkplug wires and things like that but he builds them to be historically accurate like you do.He has been on a kick building local circle track fenderless 50's race cars that were welknown to the local /regional race car enthusiasts. He gets aftermarket resin kits and decals from a few of his sources. When the holidays come we go out to his garage to check out his REAL fully restored rare Camaro. Its not a Yenko but something more rare.
    He stripped EVERYTHING Including removing the frame from the chassis.
    After that we head to the basement to check out his latest car model builds.
    I really enjoy the holidays for this reason . Anyway.....thanks for sharing your builds here on utube.

      Man I would love to hang out at your place! My holidays can be similar. We play with my boy and talk about our real cars. I talk models with my brother but not much with family on that subject.

    I´ll definetly reshape the fenders on my Revell AAR & Hemi cudas. That made a world of difference to the look!

    Plum Crazy Purple is an excellent high impact color choice for the color of your Revell AAR 'Cuda!

    I used to know how to read those tools, but I forgot so I got a numeric one. That said, you're really good at making straight cuts. I mean, even with your saw, the axle was loose in the box, and you could've ended up not cutting it straight.

    • @TheMuscleCarModeler
      @TheMuscleCarModeler  Před 3 lety

      I still had to sand it square and shorten the tubes. I cut them long on purpose.

    Nice tip and how to. The flare around the wheel openings on those kits always bothered me too. Never understood why Revell made them like that.

  • @curtisboxill-boxmansbuilds2980

    Excellent tutorial on the swap!would the Duster 8.75 rear be a correct swap if one wanted to make the Revell 70'Charger a non hipo car?.

    • @TheMuscleCarModeler
      @TheMuscleCarModeler  Před 3 lety

      Yes. Most would have the 8.75 rear in a 1970 Charger. The Dana 60 was behind most high performance models with a 4 speed.

  • @hensleyshobbies-doug7761

    Good deal bud! 👍👍
