Why put Ty France on waivers if Jerry and Justin didn’t have a plan to replace him right away?? Can’t afford to trot out a bunch of Tacoma guys when your trying to keep pace with Astros and Rangers. Don’t tell me Vosler and or Locklear were the answers. The lack of planning that goes into some of Jerry’s decisions is mind boggling. 🤔

They also didn't think through sending Zavala and just having Garver as the sometimes backup who plays in the same lineup with Raleigh every few games.

Are we seeing a pattern here?! Jerry has one strength which is scouting/acquiring players for his little farm pet projects. His ineptitude to acquire for major league rosters, was a disaster for the angles. & what do ya know. History repeats itself in Seattle.

You mean when they miss the playoffs there will be major consequences.
Sadly, none of them will matter because we will have the same ownership who will continue to undercut the front office, making it irrelevant who they hire to be the next scapegoat for their greed, incompetence and miserliness.

I apologize for the length of this screed, but your show today was just too awesome...
I woke up this morning to see your new episode had dropped, and that you recorded it on Monday night.
I only wish you had held off and recorded it after Tuesday night’s disaster. The image of you guys losing your minds with Julio going on the IL on top of everything else would have been hilarious.
There was so much good stuff in your show today…That comparison to the 2010 lineup was particularly brilliant. You guys need to send a “Thank you” card to the Mariners for providing all the incredible content they have been serving up this season.
Man…I’ve been saying for most of the last two years that were it not for that 14-game winning streak in 2022, and a hot August last year, the Mariners are a .500 team, at best. And we are seeing that play out as years of bad FA signings, the inability to develop/promote good hitters (aside from Julio, and we all know how his season has gone) and a thunderously deaf-to-its-customers attitude from the ownership has produced a team that is the poster child for needing to win every game, and have other teams lose at the same time, just to hopefully sneak into the playoffs. Year after year after year.
Personally, I never bought into DiBozo’s “step back” plan. Never have felt like Scott Servais is the right manager for this team. But, here we are. They both probably deserve to be sent packing, especially when the Mariners don’t make the playoffs this year. But, now we are stuck in a sort-of “Better The Devil You Know” position, I guess. If they blow up the whole thing, then they are admitting that the last decade, the period since the “step back” season, and the last four years, in particular, were all a sham. And we will be back to Square One, but in a worse position, in a way, as this vaunted, young pitching staff will have wasted another year, and will be another year closer toward being broken up because we know ownership isn’t going to pay to keep everyone…If they can even keep anyone.
Well…The series with the Angels is lost. And there very well may be a sweep today. And if there is, we might as well get out the broom and sweep away the rest of the season.

Only problem is, whenever we do go get a WRC of over 1 free agent they proceed to have their shittiest year of their career at the plate in Seattle and then are released or not offered a longer contract only to go to a new team and be right back to their regular selves.

Send garver to straight backup catcher and get me a justin turner TYPE masher thats still producing and will bring a veteran playoff presence to this team. I do like the conforto idea. They need players now. Dont have to sell the whole farm to get better but you could go a little crazy. I have a feeling they are gonna roll with polanco though. I agree with you guys, they need to add, in my opinion they need to full on swing for the fences. If they REALLY wanted Vlad, Robert and maybe even Jazz they could do it and the only team in their way is Baltimore, but that team needs pitching. The Mariners can do all of that without trading any of the current starters which speaks to how great the farm is. However getting all 3 of those guys or 3 - 5 new bats in general isn't the most realistic thing which is why it's not an either/or, it is a both/and. They need to add, AND the current core, starting with Julio NEED to play better or else...

If I'm building the perfect deadline... We need to shore up our bullpen first, by quickly going for the big arm in 2024...
Athletics get: 2B Cole Young and C Harry Ford to the Athletics for CP Mason Miller.
We can use a setup arm to get a LH DH vs RHP from the Orioles, Cal and Garver can cover C & DH vs LHP...
Orioles get: RP Ryne Stanek & 3B Ben Williamson for 1B Ryan O'Hearn & OF Cedric Mullins (O's save $3M in payroll)
This sets up the first blockbuster trade with the Pirates and Athletics, as we flip Mullins to offset salary...
Pirates get: SP Bryan Woo, OF Brent Rooker, OF JJ Bleday, and OF Cedric Mullins
Athletics get: C/OF Endy Rodriguez, SP Logan Evans, SP Bubba Chandler, and OF Jake Suwinski
Mariners get: OF Bryan Reynolds, RP Lucas Erceg, and 3B Ke'Bryan Hayes
Which brings us to the final blockbuster trade with the Cubs...
Cubs get: OF Jonny Farmelo, SS Tai Peete, 2B Michael Arroyo, SP Michael Morales, SP Brody Hopkins, & 2B Jorge Polanco
Mariners get: SP Justin Steele, 2B Nico Hoerner, & 1B Cody Bellinger
Total salary added: $0 from Orioles, $300K from Oakland, $7M from Pittsburgh, and $8M from Cubs in 2024. Once Ty gets picked up on a league minimum pro-rated deal, it'll mean adding only $15M total.
If the Mariners are tighter than this on payroll, they could move guys like Urias by sending him to a team with a low-level prospect to save $2M in remaining salary. We could also move 40-man roster pieces for cash like Mike Baumann, since we'll need space for the new players.
A couple hundred thousand here and there could add up to a decent amount of cash. Though it appears ownership isn't going to care about $15M, should it yield this level of roster improvement.
The reason for not getting Rooker directly is he sucks at T-Mobile, meanwhile Reynolds holds a 1.500 career OPS in Seattle, which goes well alongside O'Hearn .773 OPS career, but more recently in 2024 he has a 1.235 OPS despite our elite pitching, and their very lopsided splits at home making them nearly unhittable in Seattle.
The final guy is Bellinger who has a 1.073 OPS career in T-Mobile Park over 8 games with 3 HR. Finding guys who have had success at our home ballpark is as important as finding guys who are doing well this season.
Woo has not been reliable this year and he's pretty much required Hancock to be his personal on-call back-up when he's needed to skip a start. If any of the other big four get injured though, we'll be in trouble. Getting Steele gives us 3+ years of control, adds a LHP which should help switch things up a little day-to-day, while making our rotation more reliable #1-5.
Miller and Erceg should give us a nice boost over Stanek being miscast as a setup man. While they are also a ways from arbitration, we might be able to get some extensions signed for some of our relievers like Miller, Santos, Brash, and Erceg giving us the best bullpen in 2024 and an even more scary bullpen in 2025 when Brash returns.
When back to full health, we'd have...
    DH - O'Hearn - 138 wRC+ vs RHP / Garver - 133 wRC+ vs LHP
    1B - Bellinger - 108 wRC+
    2B - Hoerner - 101 wRC+
    3B - Rojas - 104 wRC+ vs RHP / Hayes - 157 wRC+ vs LHP
    SS - Crawford - 90 wRC+
    LF - Reynolds - 134 wRC+
    CF - Rodriguez - 101 wRC+
    RF - Raley - 111 wRC+ vs RHP / Robles - 118 wRC+ vs LHP
    Supersub - Moore 104 wRC+
    SP - George Kirby (R) 2.73 FIP
    SP - Justin Steele (L) 3.16 FIP
    SP - Logan Gilbert (R) 3.27 FIP
    SP - Luis Castillo (R) 3.71 FIP
    SP - Bryce Miller (R) 3.84 FIP
    CP - Mason Miller (R) 1.69 FIP
    SU - Andres Munoz (R) 2.84 FIP
    SU - Gregory Santos (R) 2.84 FIP
    SU - Tayler Saucedo (L) 2.98 FIP
    MR - Trent Thornton (R) 3.53 FIP
    MR - Gabe Speier (L) 3.60 FIP
    MR - Lucas Erceg (R) 3.57 FIP
    LR - Collin Snider (R) 2.47 FIP
That looks like a team that could win the World Series...
    Remaining noteable prospects:
    SS Colt Emerson
    OF Lazaro Montes
    SS Felnin Celesten
    1B Tyler Locklear
    SP Jurrangelo Cijntje
    SP Brandyn Garcia
    SP Ryan Sloan
    OF Jonatan Clase
    2B Ryan Bliss
    OF Aidan Smith
    RP Hunter Cranton
    SP Teddy McGraw
    SS Dawel Joseph
    SP Jeter Martinez
    SP Cole Phillips
    RP Troy Taylor

@@kylewilson2819 We've lost 6 games because of our bullpen in the last three weeks... We need a closer like him... For a team that plays one runs games, a closer means more than anything. Also, who cares about Ford. We have Garver for 1+ years and Raleigh for 3+ years. You're just going to add him to the 40-man roster and burn his options? Because Cal won't go on the IL, when he played 30-50 games with a broken thumb on his catching hand. If that didn't make him go on the IL, nothing is going to make him do it.
