I agree with Melanie, black! Remember the mistake you made with the red frame on the dumpster Cummings? You’re building a show truck not a Picasso painting.
Ok your right 😂😂
Definitely black. It will look much cleaner
Getting out of the Army soon due to a bad injury. This gives me hope on what I can do in the future. Love this channel and I have been learning so much. This channel has been making a difference for me
I really appreciate all the detailed work you put into everything!
No problem I’m glad to get the info out 👍
Seeing as you're looking into doing things right and getting the best performance, have you looked at the Banks diff covers and why they are better than the flat style ones?
You are making good progress - that lift certainly helps. I agree with Melanie - black on the bottom of the cab - otherwise you will want to frequently power wash the bottom of your cab :) I think a white firewall would look good with a white engine bay. However, it is a decision you and Melanie need to make - good luck.
Thanks Roy
Black, in my opinion, Looking Great Truck Master! Awesome Brother 🏁 ☠️ 🛠💨
Black. Josh I miss the old endings can you please do a throw back for me? I miss the trucks and the music. Love you both!
Yes definitely I will do it in the next one but unfortunately CZcams keeps flagging my videos with music in them now
Can’t wait to see the finished product Josh! This is going to be a BEAST!!
Hopefully I can get her done really soon
She's coming along nicely. Black or dark Charcoal on the bottom. Go truck master!
Wow I can't believe how well this is all coming together...looks great. You even had my anxiety going with the engine going in with no load leveler. Keep up the great work! I would go black underneath, will be a nightmare to keep clean if you go white, just my .02
Great video as usual. After crunching numbers & talking to clients all day I love to sit back & watch you work your magic. You are talented! Oh listen to your wife; go with the black!
I would have to vote for the white raptor lining under cab. Always been a fan of keeping things stock looking. My black LBZ has a light grey color under the cab from the the factory. Not sure if all the colors were like that or not. Love the progress on the frame off restoration!!
Love it man can’t wait to see it all together
I like I your putting the videos together and showing the step and what it takes to make it all happen!
Thanks
Awesome. That's always the fun part assembling new parts like when I did my old camaro years ago.
From my personal experience I highly suggest using something like POR-15 rather than bed liner for the cab, just as strong, doesn’t hold moisture and dirt the same way (which being in the Midwest, you understand) and gives a nice gloss finish if that’s what you like. Either way it’ll turn out great and black has my vote. Even for the firewall it’ll make the powder coat pop more and leave the bay seeming endless.
I bet white on the bottom would look great it took years to get that dirty an if it’s a show truck it should be keep clean anyways. I remember seeing it in person at the cole motors meet a couple years ago an thought the fire wall definitely need to be painted an fender liners lol can’t wait for the finish product looks great so fair was a little hard to watch the chain rub on the powder coated frame an the breaker bar 😅
Thanks John luckily the powder is still in good shape 👍
My third hand is bungee cords, tie down straps, magnets and of course, duct tape.
Duct tape for sure
Like Christmas morning. I remember the parts coming in everyday. Totally insane. I still have parts in boxes i didnt install yet. Thing is going to be insane man. I cant wait to come out and see it. As identical as we both will be, we gotta see what they make on the dyno this year. Oh and shop update, got the footing dug out and formed up, almost ready for inspection. Trying to get done before the season starts so i can tidy up some things on the truck. Anyway looking great man, keep pushing.
I will be at the van wert thing this year in June
I'm planning on being at van wert ohio show this year if I finished the truck I'm rebuilding this year 1986 if not might take out the 1965 c10
While you have them off, take the time to disassemble your alternator and new AC compressor and have them powdercoated, they really arent that hard to disassemble/reassemble and it make a world of difference in the engine bay when you lift hood. Just my 2 cents but its looking great!
Hello Josh and Melanie. Well let's see how far you're going to get on the build of the Wifemax today. Can't wait for the rest of the videos on the Wifemax build and then the start of the Wifemax.
Slowly but surely coming along, Truck Master Team! A couple hours every day, wont be too long before cab on wiring done, and get some life into another killa diesel Duramax! Keep up the enthusiasm! Cheers, Doug. NZ
That’s how I look at it right now, just a few hours here and there 👍
Looking awesome. 250lb/ft is no joke. Im not sure I'd have had the nuts to send it, good on you! Keep up the solid content
Thanks it was scary though 👍
I’m currently building an LBZ right now not nearly as nice as the wife max but your videos have helped me tremendously so thank you sir. And i think black bed line underneath with white fire wall and engine bay make the purple accent really pop
Much appreciated and good luck with everything
Love all the PPE parts Josh, they look really good
Awesome video like always… I can’t wait to hear this thing roar… what else would be cool sounding is that 9 blade in the red dmax. I don’t know if it’s me or my eyes messing with me or not but is one of the bolts/ studs what ever you wanna call it loose ( closest to the front of engine 13:02) … sorry just wanted to make sure better be safe than sorry.
Thanks for the heads up I will check it out
Can’t wait to see this truck completed!!
Idk what undercoating you're using but I would go with a lighter purple raptor liner. It will off set the deep purple driveshaft and accessories and at the same time offset the black frame. Ending up with not to much black and not too much deep purple while still matching and looking good.
Looks great josh keep up the progress I'd go all black underneath.
"awesome channel" love all the content, the build is looking good. cant wait to see the finished product! i think you should paint it black.
You should have asked Earl for some help😁
No 😂
It's gonna be a beauty. Watching you makes me know i need a shop. Hard to do these things in a yard.
It can be done through but in a warmer state
@@TruckMaster it could but I'm down the road in flint. Lol
Save yourself a headache and replace those two heater hose fittings on your heater core before you put the cab back on. Way easier to do now rather then later.
Awesome... Looking good 👍👍👍👍
What a beautiful rig
Great job brother that it’s so awesome proud of you brother
Maybe in the future u can help me rebuild my DMax
Consider Dove Grey bedliner underneath. It will hide dust and dirt better than white or black.
That looks ama ing Gang! Keep the vids coming.
Thanks
Wow
Love that Wife Max build. Keep it up.
White bed liner also bed liner up the back of the cab to the window.
Nice build with a lot of potential, but maybe fix the Hydraulic Fluid leak on your lift, "for safety"...
Engine bay area black, underneath white to match the body
Did you guys get rid of headstuds from your store and how do I enter for the tie rods
Hey on the L5Ps can you test what exhaust tips are best bang for the buck for emissions compliment?
Great progress 🎉
Look into the Worth water base under coating. Don’t use the cheap stuff. It dries hard and shiny. I used it on my Pro Touring SEMA build years ago. You will need to get the spray gun too but it will be worth it.
Thanks for the info but I will probably used my left over Raptor stuff I think it will hold up nicely
Good stuff as always 👍
Looks awesome great job 👏
Thanks 🙏
White for sure. The cab looks clean all one color. Same tone of white tho.
Won’t be long now. It start going together fast since the transmission an case is in. Can’t wait to see it. Done an back on the road. Ps tell Earl to don’t drop the motor next time jack it up higher lol 😂
Dang it Earl 😂
Just straight piped my truck today what would be the next best upgrade without a tune. Not wanting to tune it just yet
Love the videos what are your thoughts on a 2003 single cab long bed 7.3 power stroke
I absolutely love it they are reliable diesel engines
I vote paint the firewall white to match the truck and the rest bedlined black. Things lookin good man!
Loving this project
ME: we are going to watch Truck Master.
Truck Master: Video stars with him moving the wifemax frame with a tractor.
My 3-year-old son: Hes the Tractor Master.
Lookin good bro! And black all the way
Dude, when that torque wrench beeps stop pushing!!!!! That 250 ft lbs is probably 300+ now!! Good way to snap bolts!
looks nicer then some sema trucks i have seen! doing a great job
I appreciate that
That's not really saying anything at all. Sema has become hack central
Would you recommend using that brand torque wrench on head studs?
Black under cab it's looking good 👍👍👍👍👌
Looks great. Those ceramic exhaust manifolds are mint. Engine will look like a mean jet engine once you dress it with extra gasser and fat ass intercooler piping. Hey Josh. If you're truly shooting for the stars, I recommend you remove the front stock A2A aftercooler and install another full size radiator. Add an electric pump, and run a separate coolant loop through 2 or 4 of the new Duramax LM2 liquid 2 air intercoolers in series. You can get those stock intercoolers for $100 a piece online and they're sick. Relocate batteries to make room for more intercoolers. Or, get 2 of the PPE L2A intercoolers for LM2, but they're stupid expensive. I have to repeat what Gale Banks said. Your intercooling is just as effective as the turbo. Switching that stock A2A aftercooler to 2 liquid intercoolers is like adding another invisible turbo. Run your trans fluid and engine oil through 2 plate heat exchangers each in series on a third coolant loop with its own fan underneath and an electric heat-resistant pump such as a Toyota or BMW electric water pump from amazon. Derale sells great elec fans and radiators on Amazon.
That’s a awesome idea but I’m stick with this for now since I’m only shooting for 1000k but thanks for the advice
Oh and swap your mechanical clutch main cooling fan to two derale or flex-a-lite electric fans. This way you can choose when you want your cooling system stealing power. You might want to turn the fans completely off during your 10 second truck pull, or half power cooling. Then run them full power after. Turn them off on the interstate. Run one for the AC. Stuff like that. Get a heat resistant weatherproof box or an aluminum box and run all your electronics, relays, fuses, and breakers organized in there using din rails.
@@TruckMaster I'm eager to see how things go. You've got an amazing build here brother. Oh it's going to sound SO good. 🤤
Ok I have an issue with my 2005 GMC 2500HD crew cab Duramax. I think my sunroof may have a very small leak what’s the correct fix for it?
Wifemax is looking great!! I would go with black underneath.
A small ratchet strap to help with it trying to turn helps a bunch 👍🏽
I should have done that 😂👍
All black is will make everything on the engine pop in color wise
Great point
I saw the schaffers atf, you using schaeffers engine oil as well?
No I’m using the Amsoil
One thing you should consider if you haven't is a guillotine for the Turbo I understand it's a brand new engine but still you don't want a 1000 horsepower to runaway unchecked
wow send it lot of guys love to be doing what your doing
Looking great 👍🏻
Listen to the wife Josh, black on the bottom. Any worries about HSP using 1018 carbon steel for exhaust manifolds
I’m not to sure what material it is but I’m not worried at all
My thoughts on powder coating the rear diff cover: I think it would look sick with just the cooling fins colored purple. I'm not sure if there's an easy way to do that, but my thought was just to powder coat the whole thing purple. Then put black powder coat over the top, and then wipe away the black on the fins. I think it would look sick. As far as the color for the bed lined underside of the cab... I think black would be better than white. It's sad to say, but you might bust something under the cab, and you might get it covered in some sort of fluid. I think the black would hide any residual pretty well.
Definitely go white. This way when you pop the hood everything is the same color in the engine bay and going down the under side of the cab. If this is gonna be a show truck, it’s all about the details.
Josh, honestly…I would avoid using bedliner on it. My understanding is that it will hold moisture in, which can result in rust down the road. If it were me, I would prep, prime, paint and undercoat it with a quality under coating that has proven results. With all the time, effort and expense you guys have in the truck, I would do everything possible to preserve it. My two cents…anyways, the truck is coming along nicely, it will be a force to recon with, something you both will be proud of for years to come, take care and God bless…David.
Josh are you going to sell that old fluid damper, will it fit a lbz? I’d be interested in it if your going to get rid of it. I’ve been following the channel since the beginning, I enjoy the content you bring!
Thanks! I think that’s specifically for a lb7 unfortunately
Gonna look sick bro!!👍🏼…Aloha🤙🏽
I Appreciate it man
You should put sealant over all your hardware to protect from rust.
It's actually pretty important that you only apply force on the hand grip area of a torque wrench.
Also believe it or not you'd have been better off to be pulling up on it.
Truck is looking great,.. but why are you not color matching the trans with the drive train
I agree but then again once the cab is on you will never see it. Great point though I should have painted it
It’s nice but I’ve heard that that liner could eventually get a hole and hold moisture which could rust the cab. I’ve never seen it personally but just something to put out there. Gorgeous truck
Was told that as well seems as though a good paint would be better
Nice looking truck build
It’s going to look beautiful
I’d just go all black too under there the road grime and stuff won’t drive you crazy later on
Have you seen the s&b 62 gallon fuel tank for the lb7?!? Also I’d like to see what you think of the driven diesel power steering line upgrades!
I think you may have a bot/scam here.
I think kall white would look the best
Looking really nice josh. When do you plan to have it all done by.
Hopefully soon maybe mid march
Sounds great. You going to bring it to Wisconsin for your next meet
Less yak more work.. tripod the camera hit time lapse and go... lol... Ah man it's looking good Josh. Going to be a good looking truck. Especially with the bottom all black and clean. Do white in the engine bay... looking good 👍 looking forward to seeing what's next. 😎
Thanks for the suggestion I really think white in the engine bay as well
TRUCKMASTER... your doing a great job. It's always enjoyable watching your program. Just something else to look for... Chevrolet used to put a sweet little work light on the firewall of the engine bay. I don't recall the year models... I know they would have one in 98 ... 99 models... but they were handi and useful. Search the parts catalogs and salvage yards...
The truck is looking great. Don't rush the build.
Definitely all black liner underneath the cab and in the engine bay
Black paint on the cab for sure
Been watching since the early days when the LBZ was black still, so I don’t mean to sound like a broken record here Josh but what would be really nice is if you took the now old frame and did an SAS to it and put another truck on top
Good video. And looking good. I hate see you torque 500 ft lbs like I have to do a lot. I say all black also.
500? Wow
@@TruckMaster yes semi truck tires torque to 500 ft lbs. We have 3/4 inch torque wrench that how we do it
Black for sure.
All Black
Goalz!
You have a video on how to remove crossmember?
Dude... I was holding my breath when you were doing those 250lbs...
Me to 😂
Yea I was waiting for him to snap some bolts!! The whole point of a torque wrench is to STOP when it tells you to stop!!
I agree all black !
Replace the rear diff cover with the banks one because he has a really comprehensive video explaining why flat diff covers are bad for the diffs
This video was about 30 minutes to short! Thanks Josh and Melanie!
Get a Banks rear diff cover. Designed better than the flat back one you have now.
Donate that old harmonic balancer to my lb7 😂😂
At the end of the build series will you go over price of how much it would cost to do a build similar?
Yes definitely! So far I’m well over budget at the moment 😂
@@TruckMasteroh I don’t doubt that! I have a 04 gmc and at some point I do want to do this to it but I’m only 22 so I’ve got a while before I can afford to do what I’m assuming is almost 50 grand worth of work but it’s the dream and I want it to be right so it would be cool to know all of the details and cost. Good thing I can do is paint and bodywork for cost cause I work in a body shop
White .. u can see any issues . Great for lights too . Hahah
Great point
Hi, I'm new to Duramax engines and I'm looking at a 08 gmc sierra 2500hd. I'm wondering what engine is in it and if they are good trucks.
It a LMM and yes they are solid trucks
@Truck Master Thank you for posting very thorough content, you're the reason I'm a lot less nervous to get my first Duramax. Now I have to decide between an 07 lbz or an 08 lmm.
