    Thanks for this video, I wasn't aware that you could propagate this plant so easily, I have two of them and now I will look at this plant differently and if mine gets big enough and has some babies I will propagate and either make it fuller or make another new plant. thank s again. I hope that you have a great week, sending hugs and love bye for now.

      Holly Hasegawa Nielson yes, it’s totally easy! Thank you Holly, I hope you’re staying safe ❤️❤️❤️. If I remember correctly, you’re in Idaho, right? How are things over there? It’s kinda nuts here in Seattle. I have been practicing social distancing since the 80s lol, so I don’t mind being holed up at home.

      @@Botanibabies Yes, I'm in Idaho, and it's nuts here as well, I work in a grocery store so I get to experience first hand a lot of the stupid crazy people, the ones that have hoarded so much toilet paper they will never use it in their life times, and paper towels and wipes and water, canned goods, meats, all assortments of stupid. I just want it to end, those of us that really do need to shop for the normal things sometimes can't because of all the hoarding going on. I am staying safe and healthy just want the maddness to end. Thanks again.

      Holly Hasegawa Nielson ugh, I’m so sorry. You’re in the front line of all that madness. People act like complete idiots and my heart goes out to the ones that really need all these things. I am really hoping by some miracle it will end soon ☹️. Please take care of yourself Holly ❤️❤️❤️!

    I have a dumb cane plant that’s more stem than leaves and it’s touching my ceiling. Would it be ok to cut most of the stem off so that it’s not as tall and replant it?

    • @Botanibabies
      @Botanibabies  Před 4 lety

      Absolutely! I have never done this myself, but know that it is possible. That's actually how to propagate most plants. Please be sure to keep enough leaves on the remaining plant, however, as it still needs leaves to survive. You'll want to then place your cutting in water and wait for it to develop roots (about 2" +) before transplanting it to soil. Mine is not tall enough to do this with, which is why I haven't tried it using this method :(. Good luck!

      I usually will water whenever it hits red for most my plants since I only use it on ones that are in pots with no drainage hole. Hope that helps!

    So this is my plant now. she hasn't grown much since I bought her a few months ago. She has 1 or 2 new leaves but I don't see a great improvement and I have her away from the window but in a bright Sunny Room. My living room has a Southeastern facing window. What should I do should I propagate her or put her in a smaller pot because this is the grower's pot and it looks pretty big? I have to send you pics if you have a websitta

    • @Botanibabies
      @Botanibabies  Před 3 lety

      Hi Heather! Is it currently root bound in the pot you have it in? If it’s growing slowly, I recommend moving it closer to the window so that it can get direct sun light. I’ve had that same experience with it not growing much until I put it closer to the window. This plant also gets spider mites easily, so I would inspect the plant closely, because pests are something to consider as well. Good luck with your plant ❤️🪴! Do you need to harvest the babies? I would love mine to be nice and bushy but I have only seen them with one stalk. I LOVE the bushy fullness of aglaonemas, can I get them same from a dieffenbachia?

    • @Botanibabies
      @Botanibabies  Před 3 lety

      Hi Lisa, not necessary to harvest the babies. I was just a little greedy and wanted more plants at the time lol. Dieffenbachias can certainly appear bushier if you leave the babies and or if you have a tall one with 1 stalk, you can chop it so that it will grow bushier. I have not done that myself, but I’ve seen photos of ones that get bushier when chopped 🤓

    Yes, I do wash my hands after handling the plant, especially cuttings. That's because of the sap, though, not the corona.

      Hi there, thank you so much for watching :). I'm not sure I understand the question. Is it that you are looking to increase the variegation of the plant? If that's the case, I would move it into a sunnier spot. Hope that helps.
