- From ferocious hooligan street brawls to performing in the most competitive arenas around the world for over ten years, this modern Samurai has earned the glory of the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Belt.
After a debilitating right shoulder injury, he was forced to relinquish his title, and now he is back on the hunt for his belt, determined to rip it from Alex Pereira's waist.
It's the perfect time to remember how Jiri Prochazka masterfully embodies the kill-or-be-killed mindset.

Good vid brudda
Damn that light heavyweight title fight was INSANE! The fight both guys showed and the constant switching between who was dominating, and all the escapes by Jiri from submissions...
Damn he throws bombs.
Lies again? WrestleMania Fireworks USD SGD
@@NazriB What?
He does not seem how to have weaknesses, insane stamina, but it's his ultra accurate punching just outside the punching ranges of his opponents that amazes me.
What a blast of a fighter! As Rogan said, he moves like he doesn't belong, but then the combos start landing. Some impressive submission reversals and escapes too, against experienced grapplers! The damage he put on some of his opponents, will leave marks for years to come, if not decades😅
He almost looks off target or slightly unbalanced in his posture and then it's as of he's throwing a strike 2 steps ahead of where his opponent will be.
Some people seem to have been born to fight. Jiri is absolutely positively one of those men. So much fun to watch
The mma guys/gals I respect are the ones like this young man who STOP throwing once they realize their opponent is OUT!!
Literally my favourite fighter/Athlete in all sports mixed together, I've been a fan of him for a few years now. That guy is a legit warrior.
Then why did he lose
18 months out v a guy who is one of the most active and best in the game. Stoppage a hair quick too.
You don't need to always win to have a Warrior Spirit. @@Duskville
I cannot wait for this freaking fight tonight!
Same
Banger!
I like how he destroyed the guy but knew he was done. He didn’t feel the need to land a bunch of unnecessary shots when his opponent was done. He has the control and discipline of a true martial artist.
The best production handguns in the world are made in the Czech Republic. I will always love this country.
This guy's commitment is unsurpassable... Samurai spirit, yeah... I prefer the Prochazka spirit
I like both.
Those have to be the longest and most accurate punches ever! What an entertaining fighter! Usually I don't get blown away that easy but if I were ever to go see an mma fight it would be for this Man. The brutality that he brings to high black belts and even the Russians is amazing. Man dude!
Thanks for this in depth background coverage. I always knew that something is oddly good about Jiri. Unpredictability always pays out in combat!
He keeps himself under control at all times.
He seems to always remember that there is always something else available and knows exactly where it's at,in his toolbox.
Smart fighter. He reminds me of Jon Jones in his early days.
Definition of a martial art person, not those loud mouths Conor wanna be's. I'm so surprised his past was so violent yet he became such a an insane representation of the martial arts community. Thank you for the video Jiri is definitely one of my favourites nowadays, a true modern warrior, he already is a legend in my eyes.
when you spend most of your life in violence it changes you. its why i seek peace and avoid getting into situations where i ll be forced to become violent. id much rather be chill but if i need to i will stand against someone. i honeslty perfer not to hurt people who don't have it coming. hell i fell apart when i almost killed my sister dog by landing on him hard. the only reason the dog wasn t crushed cuz i rolled my ankle as i came down on him. However as kind and caring as i am i am like Gohan from Dragonball Z when i have truly had enough. l cherish life and i care about people so when i have been put into similar situations, forced to watch people prey on another, i legitimately have blacked out. and from what i've been told it was like i wasn't even me anymore and it was just the primal rage of a beast. honestly when people talk about the things they're afraid of i don't always speak up cuz its me. i'm afraid of me. afraid of what im capable of. afraid of the monster i know i am that i keep caged.
@@thizzmonkey7846🤣🤣🤣 comedy.
@@thizzmonkey7846wow you’re so cool
watch one championship mui thai. that's real martial arts. the talent and their respect for the opponents is very noticeable.
Much respect for everyone who battles MMA. True gladiators of our time. Yuri is one of my favorite fighters also, much
I’ve slept on this guy, what a warrior, he’s been through the fire several times. Amazing spirit can’t wait for the upcoming fight
Jiri is a classy fighter... much respect...
I like Alex too, but Jiri for the win, let's GO!
Alex is going to put him to sleep
@@roblockhart8410 he did indeed
I’ve heard the name, but I don’t think I’ve ever watched highlights to see what an amazing fighter he is. It’s almost comical how easy he can get out of tough situations
i love how he submits the grappler.
This fighter is like a construction worker or farmer. He drives his hands like he uses them to work.
He's a tough peasant, not a dojo fighter. A manual laborer. Static. Hard. Tough.
If you want to be like this guy, you should take work as a rod buster or iron worker. This is the working man's style.
"I'm a fuckin samurai" Jiri "Rockhold" Prochazka
Jiri, awesome spectacle. Your only weakness is not having a tight guard, which an opponent with enough power is sure to exploit. Incredibly impressive. I think he is almost on the level of Jon Jones at his best, without juicing.
Great show, thanks!!!
Love this guys punch angles.
Dayyym dude is a savage, beat some great fighters quickly. The Parerra fight should be amazing.
I wasn't watching UFC for awhile there and I had missed all of this guys fights. I'm impressed with his abilities. He is a bit like Jon Jones how he strikes in a creative way.
The last fight was pretty intense!!! Those are the types of fights I like seeing!!!
This is such a cool video about a compelling fighter. I can't wait to see him fight again
Man has a great mind for doing stances and footwork that's unexpected. It's like fighting a ghost. RARE ability and quite deadly.
Im a big fan of Jiri & Alex as well. I’ll be happy no matter who wins, I just want a great fight
So explosive
Sheesh
First time seeing this fighter, bro that knee is so clean and badass. What a G
He fights like he’s been playing street fighter video game . Brilliant to watch, must take a lot of specific training . Much respect
ALEX PUT HIM to SLEEP ! NIGHTY NIGHT Jiri
His style is reminiscent of prince naseem... minus the showboating, trash talking, dancing, entrance in a flying carpet, etc. Man was prince naz good!!
Hey man we are happy that you appreciate Naseem too. We made a video about him, tell us what you think about. Enjoy!!
czcams.com/video/O1-iOzBVZiA/video.html
Ill check it out 👌🏻
I used to love watching Prince Naseem. He was the most entertaining fighter to watch for awhile. They actually made a time limit rule on entrances after he spent 20 minutes dancing to Thriller one fight 😂
@@poindextertunes naahh 20 mins is crazyy!! 🤣🤣
If you look at how samurais used to fight, it looks odd yet EXTREMELY precise. Exactly how he looks.
Jiri,Jiri,Jiri!!!
He’s got such controlled power in those punches.
Jiri is the only person to knock out Volkan to this day. Volkan was Anthony Johnsons main sparring partner and Rumble once talked about how he would land flush head kicks but couldn't drop Volkan. Thats shows you how hard Jiri hits
wow bro thank you for everything you changed my life :)
Finally, someone says "to this day" instead of "til this day". 😂
@@efisgprdefinitely live in USA if that is one of the things that bother you.. finally, til this day, to this day.. some heavy taxing problems that you have sir ..I am glad I'm not you
@@JoseAvila4_20 ,I would say efigpr sounds more like a snooty Brittan
One of them countries where people have1st world problems.. like beingbotjerddbyayoutube commentsgrammer.. yikes
What a warrior! Always good fights and moving forward like Strickland
Awesome fun seeing guys you never heard of performing so well!
Nice video not over Done
Narration fits...just saying it's refreshing that's the story's about the fights and not the CZcamsr lol.
And thanks for Sharing
His base.both feet and hands Legit
Motivation!
great highlight!
Can't wait to see Jiri win the belt again tonight
im rooting for jiri but if glover could connect so can alex and he hits so hard unless jiri has really changed his style idk i def wont be bettin tonight jiri is fking crazy enough to pull it off
Pereira is going to sleep him
@@tuckerspradley9592 Lol he won't though 😂
@@tuckerspradley9592 dont say it yet, there is a big chance that he will actually have his hands up and not expose his chin, but if he does show Alex his chin, that might be KO for Alex
When has Jiri ever show defence lol. He’s got a fighters chance but my money is on Alex 100%
"The Last Samurai" is one of my all time favorite movies.. i guess his as well, but Sgt.Algren looks different somehow..???
Well...
Waiting for Ninja's to Arrive
🔥💀🔥
Wow Amazing warrior skills.
i love how incredibly steady his core and center of gravity are he moves like he's underwater lol
His style is once he makes contact he never stops after that!!!$$$++
What a beast
His hands are HEAVY👽👀
He moves as if he has zero nervousness, no over thought. Just stands n goes...not scared what so ever
That’s a good point. He looks stiff but watching these highlights he’s unstoppable in them.
That's exactly what I was thinking most of us analizers are not saying 😂
Excelente video, lo he visto completo 👍👍
Grazie amico ;)
Ol boy can FIGHT.
Very agressive fighting technique. I like it 😊
The way he lets his hands go reminds me of the style and lethality of Chuck Liddell.
The commentary is funny on this, this fighter Jiri is awesome, everybody better start training harder.
the way he uses strikes looks exactly like Kikuno Katsunori's Karate style
Glover vs Jiri was amazing
Reyes never recovered from that elbow
That was brutal
Right behind the ear. Seemed out for at least 2-3 minutes.
never as in never? it had already gone pretty far, he was hard as nails to even stay up as long as he did.. got the shit kicked out of him
@@RandomButBeautiful never ever. Or maybe that ‘almost’ against Jones broke him mentally.
Love this breakdown! Great commentary and editing. Liked and subscribed
Thank you pal!
Thank you pal!
Watched the fight last night, grabbed my popcorn and am watching this comedy video.👍
Fake background crowd noise LOL. ,🤣
Whoa congrats on the views
Great video. He is one of my favorite fighters to watch. The will to win and survive is Strong
I rewinded the "knee" at 27 seconds like 10x...that shit was so strange I'm still baffled
and yestarday he met someone who is really good :D
Jiri kinda looks like a bomberman when he puts his hair like that 🤣
A spirit of a true Shidoshi silent but yet timelessly deadly in comparison to the loud mouths wats interesting he literally shut their mouths wit the blood he drew from their loud traps I like him
Love seeing Jiri fighting, still can see heavy influence of euro football ultras street fight style... Love it !!
Jiri is one of the most honorable men today.
The fire has been extinguished.
Pure headhunter, I saw a total of 5 body shots that entire vid lol big fan
Yeah body shots are a waste of time and stamina with his reach and power. He’s fucking fearless :o
@@nemanjamilosevic5361body shots are never a waste of time lmao
He knocked a whole grown ass man off his feet! The dude went airborne!
He has long limbs. He's gonna be trouble in LHW. He knows when to stay totally calm and explode at the last second. He learns Ju Jitsu and his long limbs could have a factor. He's built for MMA. I'd like to see him fight again.
What you mumbling about bot
I am a genuine person. You'd be advised not to screw with me. I'm not a good person when people are rude to me. I like destroying bully types. I swear you would sweat bullets taking to me in person. Men fear me Leonard. I am smart and 100% wood. I have never lost a fight to one single person in the street. I have fought and won against multiple people at once in the street. No gloves or a ring when I fight.
I'm very intimidating and I am a loose cannon just like my father. I'm also very brave. I attacked 4 guys with baseball bats and KO'd a guy. I do very well every time I fight. You'll think your fighting an Olympic Wrestler, but I know how to throw hands and Muay Thai kicks and initiate Muay Thai clinches. You'll be like a 9 yo for me. What do you weigh kid?
My whole family are all hard. My father was the local tough guy in Manhattan in the 1950's. He was in the Riverside Boys Street Gang. He was Italian in an Irish gang, very well liked and my father was a pro boxer. Gangster Jimmy Burke was at his wedding.
You couldn't hit my father. His head movement was that good. He hit me once when we were sparring. I hit like that now. Before I was born my parents moved to the Bronx and then my father started a General Construction company and made millions. I grew up in a huge house. My brother is a force he knows all the judges here. He's a high powered attorney and he carries a gun.
I'm over here in NYC. The Bronx is my area. I have construction jobs in the Bronx. I walk the streets here with my head high fearing no man. You are a clown if you think I am a robot. Is this real enough for you? Or do I need to find you and introduce you to my right and left hand called Murder 1 and Manslaughter respectively.
@@jamesdelcol3701how well do you do at controlling your temper? I hear that is an important skill for a fighter. Not being a fighter myself I wouldn't know, still I wish to develop this faculty.
Praises.
Damn his mind is realy strong
It's not just a question of technique, it's also about wild nature
That’s why teletubby got rocked 😂🤣
Nice skills
WoW he’s so brutal love it
This really needs the Curb your enthusiasm music at the end.
He fights like a character I used to main on Street Fighter and that char was Jin Saotome.
I wanna see Prochazka vs Błachowicz....dream match
Oh look its Last Samurai.
Bouncing ‘em like hyper active beach balls
Never go conventional, never copy what other people do, do your own thing and you will master your sport!
He punches just like nate diaz. Constantly smacking your face so you become a frustrated agitated bee hive then throws a heavy smoke bomb that leaves you stunned
Jiri is good, Alex will be a great test,he is smooth power as well.Thank god for hand speed or these guys would be unbeatable.
He has some great skills and fitness. If I was to fight him I would be looking to exploit his one obvious vulnerability, a high head and low guard. Someone with a strong hook punch might be his nemesis.
Good luck with that line of thought.
Yeah but dude has massive reach. How you’re gonna hit his head without being sent to heaven? ;D
If he can get and stay healthy I think he will be unstoppable for a time.
Poatan the GOAT
Nope
@@Craig_Doll what an incredibly intelligent take! Can you please share more? I bet you have amazing takes on anything MMA related.
Uh....
Real Deal!!!
Nice
The training montage from Fighter in the Wind is what Jiri is probably trying to recreate for his camps, since the film is based on someone who also read Miyamoto Mushashi's books.
His gas tank is ridiculous. Dude doesn’t get tired.
Both Jiri and Alex drop their hands so someone is getting KO’d.
Unlike most fighters, he has no rhythm, which makes extremely him unpredictable.
He actually does, he created his own rhythm ... he fires off a lot of shots using Centripetal force( in his case almost like a drunken circular motion to create power/ awkward striking motions
he is a fire breathing dragon MAZEL TOV
The way he lifts off the mat with that knee... he looks like he's on wires lol.
