Corrales was a great fighter, and seemed like a great person outside of the ring. But you have to remember, he had a very dark side to him and couod be a monster. The video left out how brutal the assault was on his ex wife. Folks, he nearly beat her to death! Her injuries were life threatening. And remember before he died his current wife kickded him out because he was having frequent outburst of anger and drinking too much. She never went into detail, but it was clear he would beat her as well, she would say he could be very violent and scary when he would drink. I feel so bad for his family because he literally left them with nothing, he was flar broke even though he was making $2-3 million per fight

@@terryduckworth5105 what i meant by that was that to the public, outside of the ring Diego would come off as very approachable, friendly and humble. It was hard to believe he was a boxer, let alone a warrior in the ring. But obviously public Diego, and private Diego were 2 completely different personalities. The one time I saw a glimpse of his rage was the 1st Casa fight and the female doctor stopped it because Diego literally had a hole punched through his cheek. He straight up flipped out and looked like he wanted to attack her.

I watched the Castillo fight live on tv. I’ve watched hundreds of fights over the years. That fight stands clearly in my mind as the most exciting, incredible fight I’ve ever witnessed. It made me a Coralles fan for life.

I was lucky enough to attend the fight. I couldn't afford the tix, however a local sports radio show in Vegas "the wiseguys" used to give away boxing tix during the week of the fight. Funny enough on Thursday they always did the show live at a local strip club, lol. They would advertise lap dances half off. It was always the best opportunity to win tix, thats how I attended Castillo vs Corrales, Mosely vs Wright 2, Bhop vs Taylor and more. I'll never forget Castillo vs Corrales, the only disappointing thing was that there was only about 5k fans in the arena. Although as the fight went on it sounded like there was 50k

Not only was the action and ebbs and flows incredible, but it took place on a much higher level than Gatti v Ward and had the most incredible finishes ever. Thats the one thing Gatti Ward lacked, it didn't have that spectacular finish.

@BrownBomber92181 Gatti vs Ruelas did. Gabe Ruelas was a high level fighter. Gatti vs Wilson Rodriguez was another one. Rodriguez was no slouch. This was when Gatti was 130 and in his prime. From 135 and up, he went on the decline. He was still good, but not prime.

He’s the only fighter I know that spat his mouth piece out so many times. I wonder that cut in his mouth he sustained against Casamayor messed up his mouth for good? He was never the same after that war with Castillo. RIP champ.
Acelino Freitas was known for constantly spitting out the mouthpiece whenever he was hurt. In this fight, it definitely seemed like Corrales did not have a custom fitted mouthpiece like most high level pro boxers have. If you watch the whole fight, there were multiple times where his mouthpiece would fall out, or nearly fall out and he'd push it back in. The 2nd KD in the 10th however he definitely spit it out on purpose tho lol
Mouthpiece out gives the fighter more time to recover.
