- Here I show you how easy and reliable a 4 wheel combination padlock (made by LOCKWOOD) can be decoded. This lock has fase gates and is great fun to open. Thanks a lot to ** Don'z Lockz ** for this wonderful toy. At the end I explain the inner mechanics and the method of decoding on similar lock that was disassembled. Decoding starts at 2:00.
That is the method in short words: Apply tension on the shackle and turn the wheels until all are in a gate - false or true is not relevant. Then start with the first wheel, testing the play of every second number and take the number with the most play. Continue until the last wheel and boom - open. - Zábava
Thanks a lot to Don for this great lock - such a fun toy.
You saved me big time. I was so close getting locked out from my new apartment. None of the other lock picking method works from other videos, I was picking the lock for the past hour and It literally took me under 5 minutes to get it unlocked from this method. Im literally crying joys of tears.
And maybe its time to switch the lock too.
A brilliantly explained process that enabled me, after a frustrating hour, to pick my first 4-digit combination lock. The feelings of joy & achievement were sudden but so good, & it was fun, even if the tips of my fingers are complaining. Thank you. I will now be looking for other challenges around the house.
I know that feeling on the fingers very well ;-) I am glad to read that you could make use of my video and got into your lock. Happy picking and decoding buddy :-)
Thank you very much, you just saved me throwing to the bin a 10 💷 Master lock that I accidentally set a code that wasn't intended. I couldn't do it with others method but this worked in under 1 minute.
Cool, great to read that you had success.
Thanks it helped... I was able to unlock my old number lock with ur technique..
Great - happy to read that you had success.
Great as usual.
I love these combi lock vids.
Thank you - I love these combo locks - great mechanical puzzles :-)
Wow your method actually worked!! after watching couple of lockpicking videos I felt brave enough to lock one of these locks without knowing the combination and to try to pick it, it remained locked for more than a year until now! Cheers
Thanks a lot for your kind comment - very motivating.
Another classic decoding :-)
Thanks a lot.
Very nice video! I've decoded a very cheap noname padlock and and even that has false gates. But with the technique described by you it's always just a matter of minutes ;)
Thanks for the great feedback - happy that you could replicate the method.
really good info, thanks for the video
Thank you.
Thanks in Bangladesh
Cheers :-)
You are the master of combination locks 🔐
Thank you, thank you - combination locks are one of my great weakness ;-)
Potti314 yes it really shows 😂
Very good decoding video,
Thank you - appreciate your feedback.
Cool video my friend great info👍👍😎😊😎😎👍
Cheers, happy you liked it.
worked a treat... thanks
Great to hear.
best tutorial. bravo.
Thanks a lot.
Great explanation & decoding Potti! Now i'll have a crack at mine. :) It seems to be quite easy but if you don't know, then it's hard. Good job! 😊🍺✌
Yes, you have to figure put what to do. But the more locks with different feedback you get to know the more weapons you have in your arsenal. First I tried the usual testing method for false gates and searched for the one that feels stiffest, but the "bad" feedback/resistance was too strong and it was very hard to feel what's going on.
Great video as usual, that's a nice padlock ;-) also nice to see the good old Burg as well :-)
Yes, the build quality is phenomenal, but it shows less resistance against decoding,
love ur vids, i honestly used to think u had far more than 4k subs, keep it up!
Thank you very much - appreciate you nice feedback.
Thanks
Cheers.
Great vid and great explanation again buddy, didn´t know I have to start from the upper wheel to have the better feedback, very clever, thanks for sharing ;o))
Thank you :-) I first tried the testing every wheel for the best feedback but the scratching resistance was too big. It was hard to distinguish between true and false gates. So I was searching for a strategy to test the wheels first that have the least amount of the scratching resistance and was pretty happy that it worked out so nicely.
Very very clever Michael, at the same time I was watching the video, I was realizing that this is what really happened to me, that I usually start on the contrary. You have taken the trouble to think about it and have come to a reasoned conclusion. Simply perfect, is the essence of this hobby. Congratulations; o))
Great job buddy! =)
Thanks a lot.
Great video as always buddy ;o))))
Thank you - I love these locks :-)
on point....nice
Glad you liked it :-)
Thanks, you saved my ass. This works a treat.
Glad to read that it was helpful.
Nice work. No so tricky to open but fun. :)
Yes, not so tricky, but still a great lock and made very well.
Very difficult to understand. With resistance or not, can't understand the difference.
Quality vid 👍
Thank you - glad you liked the video.
So my lock has randomly locked itself in the open position and does not recognise the code I set! How can this be possible you ask? I have know idea but I can do nothing with it at all
Thanks for the tips!
My pleasure :-)
You will find if you start from the opposite end its very stiff to turn the wheel. It will pop into correct gate and not want to move. Then same process each wheel inwards until you get to the last wheel. I can get all 4 done and lock open in about 7 seconds once familiar with the feel. This is while not even looking at the lock.
Thanks for the inspiration. Just tried it but with less success. In which state are wheel 1-3 when you work on number 4? Are they in a gate or not?
Potti314 Hi. No if you set all to random numbers but not in a gate as if left by the owner in secure state. All you do is put VERY heavy tension on shackle. Keep it on all the time. Kind of like single pin picking a cylinder lock the combination wheel that is stiffest to turn is the one to work on. Usually the farthest away from the shackle but not always. It will turn with strong resistance until it pops into gate. It will then not want to turn anymore. Then check other wheels for the one with strongest turn resistance and repeat. Once you get to the last one it kinda false sets one click away from the true gate. Just click one turn and test.....bingo. lock open. Enjoy!
Combo's are more of a fidget toy ;)
Would never use these to secure anything of value ;)
Thanks for the video
Don'z Lockz I'm not sure why lock companies still produce these??
I guess they are still 10X better than the cheap Chinese locks from a dollar store.
Its good to see another hot dog lock.
You must of pulled a few strings to find it mate. A++
FunKey MonKey yeah, I agree but I think combo locks will never cease to be made. The do however provide one thing...a false sense of security like all TSA locks.👍🏽The Hot Dog lock was a lucky eBay find about a year ago, they had two so I bought them both. They were both NOS in boxes unused so I I was stoked to find them.😁
Good score my friend.
There are however combination padlocks where you cannot tension the locking mechanism and where the access to the inner wheels is shielded - these are pretty good. But the type show in this video is great fun to play with.
Potti314 that sounds odd. I can't recall seeing you do a video on them...if you in fact did.
Any ideas on how to decode a master lock 4696d? Thank you
Do you think that the pull picking method will work? - pull on the shackle and test if the wheels start binding. If not, try the feeler gauge attack czcams.com/video/H6SPZweF_hs/video.html
my lock is froze open, it seems to have lost the combination, it opens and closes in 180 position but when i turn it to close it it hits body cannot open to get it to the 0 degree position to close it! i think its broken sigh
At 180 degree you usually change the code. When you cannot pull out the shackle enough to pass the lock buddy to close it normally, then you have to decode it open. I have a video on that czcams.com/video/kAlBM6UdOjM/video.html
In your case, in contrast to the mentioned video, you would need to pull on the shackle at 180 degree and decode it open - I hope ;-)
I forgot tje password and i wont to close it help me pls
wtf means dsisturbing feedback? i dont know if you mean that moves a lot or moves a little bit
My key is lock i am forget my password how can oping sir
Try following the instructions from this video. I also have a Playlist where I decode other locks.
well i must be doing something wrong cos i cant get it to work
How does your lock behave?
@@Potti314 well some of it is very stiff some are very loose but i dont no how to tell a true gate from a false one and i dont no if i'm putting to much presure or not enough
Sorry to say, but it's a matter of practice. Focus first on the stiff ones and try to find the possibly best spot for them until on of the loos ones become stiff. Good luck.
@@Potti314 OK thanks
Park keeper is pissed all his locks are in the river cause I pick locked them😂😂😂😵😵
Stay legal.
Porfavor en español
I only speak German and English. But isn't the visual aid enough? It's not very complicated.
I cant even open mine
It's a matter of practice. Good luck.
it didn’t work...
Try harder.
