Hi Patty! I hear what you’re saying but I think you and a lot of CZcamsrs forget that the average person can’t look like a glitterball most of the time. We don’t go out as much, so have less use for special shades. Plus the price point of PMG is for more established people, which tends to be in an older age group. I am a lover of Pat but what gets used the most, are the more basic palettes or the less shimmery shadows in her Motherships. That being said, she does astral shades beautifully and I do use them on the rare occasions that I go out. Love your content as always!
Adept cosmetics has awesome palettes with super shiny multichromes at a third of the price. Personally, I feel boring if I'm not wearing some fun shimmery, unnatural looking shadows whenever I leave the house ... to the store, the doctor, church, out to dinner, to a concert. I guess I break all the rules, especially because I'm sure lots of people probably think 41 is too old to be wearing certain looks as well. I really don't know what people think or if they care, but for now, I'm going to do what feels fun to me even if others think I look silly.

you can wear glittery shadows every day, you just wear them more subtly than you would for a party
I really wish PMG would have done an all cool tone matte with browns, greys and taupes (not pinks) and and all warm matte. Then I would have gotten it.

@@curlieeloks3032 I get what you mean, but I think it would have really stood out as something different since every brand does pinky tones for valentines. Plus the liquid shadows weren't pink themed and a cool matte would have complimented those nicely.

They already came out in November with a pinkish small palette. I really expected an all matte brown/grey one. 😞
PS ... Patty I don't know or remember if you ever got the Bridgerton collection palettes but PMG did include astral shades in both those palettes ! So she has in-fact included at least two astral shades in her 6 pan palettes in the past ...also I think she's trying to appeal to more people and lets face it MOST people love these "boring" neutral safe shades the most ! Alas she can't always please or appease everyone but I find it funny when she does release "unwearable" palettes (ie mothership 4 decadence or even mothership 3 subversive) people complain 😂 oh that's not wearable or daily friendly or oh decadence is "hard to use" or difficult to come up with looks etc ,,, but when she does release more wearable palettes they are considered "boring" 😂😩🤷🏻♀ it's like she gets heat no matter what she does lol 😅 at the end of the day it's just makeup; if it's not something that appeals to you or anyone speaking in general it's simple to just pass ✌ and save your coins for something else 💕❤

There’s only but so many shades to add to the already existing millions of neutral brown colors 😂🤷🏻♀️ it’s just makeup none of it is really needed ❤️ I got these palettes & I already own all the large motherships, her previous 6 pan palettes & all her past quads & quints 😅 but I got them because I love PMG formulas & I loved these shades but most importantly I travel & I’d never travel with a large mothership palette … so these are perfect to travel with too 🥰
Yes 100%! The decadence palette was so gorgeous and everyone complained it wasn’t wearable but you can use other shadows and the subversive at first glance can be intimidating but that brown shade OMG I’d buy the palette again just for that one color! Amazing! And thank you for this comment because I was going to ask how it compared to the Bridgerton 6 pan. I couldn’t stand the new formula in the Star Wars collection so I’m actually excited for the 6 pans because they are great for travel!
Agree, mother Pat really tries to please. She came out with one new palette her existing customers asked for (all matte palette) two new palettes catering to new customers, an *entire line” of new liquid shadows, and repromoted blushes & lip products curated to coordinate with the collection, and people are STIll complaining.
I think the reason the brand may not be pushing the envelope on creativity is because they’re trying to make more merchandise mass appealing, since they just tend to sell better and most brands are trying to stay afloat and make profits despite inflation, that’s just me guessing though. I love the looks you did with these palettes!
I am total full agreement on the quads. I miss them! I love them so much because I could take an astral shade traveling without being hyper concerned about breakage but now that they're all discontinued, I'm keeping them at home, safe and sound.
I take my quads with me. Love to use them.

I got the rosier palette and the all matte palette, and I love them. I’m especially excited to have the all matte palette for practical reasons. I really hope the liquid shadows I want come back in stock soon!
I’m with you in that I’d rather have quads in the black lacquer packaging than 6 pans. I miss the lovely quads so much. I do like the format, formulas, and price of the quints, though. I think the quints alone could fulfill the “less expensive” palette format for them and then she could do quads in the nice packaging instead of 6 pans in cardboard. If we’re going to have these 6 pans, at least have baked satins and special shades like she did for the Bridgerton 6 pans. So it’s not unprecedented to have interesting formulas in 6 pans.
My rant is that the shipping has been universally great with this collection (at least in the US and Canada) Orders are being received very quickly. That’s fantastic, but it also shows they are perfectly capable of getting orders out in a timely fashion. So I really wish they’d always do it.
I have started to skip PM releases because they just don’t excite me anymore. I love how honest you are about your reviews
If Dame Patricia is listening, PLEASE release Astral Blitz LIQUID shadows.
I’ve only tried one shade (Tin Pan Alley) but the About Face Fractal Glitter Eye Paints are liquid shadows that might fill that bill.

I think a lot of people are very harsh about Pat’s releases in general compared to other brands. However, this collection is pretty lackluster to me. I already have plenty of neutral mattes and metallics from Pat so I don’t feel the need to buy this. The Sith and Droid palettes from the last launch were much more interesting to me and I liked them a lot. I totally agree with you that I’d like her to put one or two special shades in these launches or have more interesting color stories. I can wait for the next launch/mothership.
I agree the quads are nicer especially with the packaging. I feel like she’s just broadening her audience and it may be a good idea for those who haven’t tried yet. I also feel like all these shades are the prototypes that didn’t cut it for the bigger palettes
I am definately buying these pallets & like you said it is because Pat doesn't do matte pallets often so this is special & the color stories are lovely ...the shimmers I will get the darker one it is stunning. Thanks Patty!

I think I'm the only person who thinks these palettes are boring. If I dip inbetween her existing palettes I can duplicate all of them!!
Had she included khaki, purple, mustard shades, I would've been all over them.

Hmmm. I would like to see a six pan palette with some green shades, or khaki, moss green or mustard. And a blue one, with teal and petrol shades. That would be something different. I understand that this is the thing that sells, but more of the same every time is getting a bit boring. Not at all something I would pay $65,- for. Actually, not even on a sale I need these.

My dream is for pat mcgrath or natasha denona to do a purple palette with shades like the viseart amethyst or Violette etendu palette or the ABH large purple palette. A purple palette in the formulas from my favorite brands would be incredible and something different for both of those brands.

Patty, you have the most amazing eyes on youtube, stunning!! I wasn't convinced until I saw your video and although I love this eye collection I will be waiting for the sales since I don't want to pay that much when they're in cheap packaging, you gave good advice! I do like the liquid eyeshadows, if they're not too blingy I'll get more wear out of them and having old eyelids I have to be careful about too much sparkle, so they look ideal. Brilliant video!

This is why I was so excited about Pat's most recent large holiday palette. I want some new shades and tones from Pat Mcgrath, especially matte shades. Of course U would love some new Astral Blitz shades too so hopefully this next Mothership won't be just another pinky-neutral palette again. I am getting bored with her brand 😐 and I love neutrals just as much as I love colors but c'mon Pat! Give us something new!!
I have so many mothership palettes with astral shades that I’m ok with her not putting these in other palettes. I really need to use what I have. Passed on the liquid shadows because Lisa Eldridge has already done these and they are really good. Similar colors which I already have.
PML is catering to multiple markets. Since the brand is still trying to gain new customers, the non all matte palettes are likely marketed to brand new customers. The all-matte pallet is probably geared more toward existing customers who actually asked for it.
Remember, the brand has investors to answer to, so mother Pat isn’t making decisions in a vacuum. It’s likely that the brand didn’t actually make money for the first five years, so a decision could have been made at the investor level that “extraordinary” products wouldn’t return enough of a margin at this time. It’s a trade off, and we are in pandemic times after all.

I agree 100% with everything you said. I saw all 3 of these USA made Love Collection palettes at TJ Maxx yesterday. $29.99 each. Not interested in new Holiday collection in cardboard either. I want Motherships with special shades and Astral Blitz quads. I will use my existing Italian made Motherships and Quads and at the time agonized on the $$$ but now am so glad I bought them!
Hi so I just want to say that I loved all your looks they were beautiful. Those brushes you use are unbelievable I know a few other people that use them but boy are they expensive. It’s hard trying to figure out what repher brush would match one of my brushes that I have which I have plenty of brushes but not like the reffer brushes

I bought Iconic infatuation and immediately regretted it. It's...fine. colors blend well. I like the look. but I'd rather get a natasha denona midi palette for $69 and get way more shades, way better packaging with just as good quality (if not better) than what's in these 6 pan palettes. What the heck is this packaging? It looks like something you buy from Clair's. If I'm paying luxury pricing, I want luxury packaging.
Obviously I’m SO late to the party. (But I’m also late to the Pat McGrath party as well, so I’m just catching up. 😉) today I actually found all three of these palettes at T.J. Maxx of all places. I only picked up the Sublime Seduction, but now you’ve got me thinking about going back to pick up the all matte palette. Before this the only Pat McGrath palette I had was Sunset Romance from Bijoux Brilliance. I’ve learned that it’s the redder, warmer shades that really make my blue eyes POP. I’m also excited to compare the US formula of the Love palette to the Italy formula (which I think is perfection) of the Bijoux palette. Would I love a mothership? Heck YEAH. But until that day comes, I’m loving these more conveniently sized/priced jewels.
Also, I am absolutely LOVING the “Mother Pat.” 😂 As a brand new fangirl for life, that is one bandwagon I can jump on! 🙌🏼

Loved your video Patty!! The looks are stunning! I did purchase velvet liaison and iconic infatuation, while they are beautiful I wish I had waited to see if they went on sale and if the sold out before that then so be it, but yeah your right the cost of these when compared to her bigger palettes (when on sale) is definitely something to take into consideration for future purchases. These were not worth the price IMO even if they are beautiful.

I order all of this collection I have to said I thought it was gonna be the cream formula 😢still beautiful but the cream formula is waaaaay better ! These palettes would be great for travel, and also to compliment my 2 Motherships, which are the Rose 1 and 2, I think. And, the 1 quad I have that you cried over, lol. I will skip the liquid shadows. I will definitely check them out, because I feel the 2 Motherships that I have do not offer enough matte/transition shades. I will wait for a sale. I appreciate your demonstrations on these.

I think it's fair considering we had a very colorful one for Xmas, and unless I'm wrong, I never say an only matte and with creams and paler mattes.
Burning desire is in mothership 6 pan bronze temptation, I think once we do more snooping we will find more reused shades

All the beauty youtubers have the opinion of Pat's stuff colored by your collection. I am a newer customer. I only wanted a few palettes. I am thrilled when she releases these more neutral colors. The 6 pans are my favorite. I did wait for a sale, but I am happy with my little 10% off, and I thought the matts would sell out. I can see Velvet Liason really shine with any shimmer from Nars, Lethal or Blend Bunny (not to metion the Pat palettes I already have) I kinda want the pink color story, because I don't have all the rose colored Motherships...except my little six pan Rose mini-mothership. I LOVE these!

Thank you for that review and proving that all palettes are same. Every eye look you did looked the exact same. The only difference to be spared was when you applied the metallics. Other than that Pat gave us 3 identical palettes with no special shades and charging us an arm. Not a leg this time. Just the arm.

Thank you for nice looks and frank opinions! I actually think this collection is again the special one - it is NOT the usual PMG! It´s something new and different. As for the liquid eyeshadows - maybe in time PMG will bring some extra sparkly ones, but most of us do not have a lot of occasions to wear them. And for quick everyday look is the best just to put one reliable shadow on the lid, blend the edges and go. And those liquids look like be OK for that. 😉
65 USD for plain eye shadows. At that point.... ND gives the same quality but more interesting shimmers and more shades. Packaging is really clunky too. So what's the benefit or appeal in these? Less shades in standard formulas for more? ND minis would be the equivalent but much more travel friendly and better colour stories....
Agreed… the quads with an astral formula would have been better. I’m not a fan of these cardboard packaging formulas made in the USA. Pass. I’m still about the Motherships. When I think about Pat McGrath, the gold standard for me are her Motherships and that’s where my love is with the brand (and her older quads which I have and adore). These liquid eyeshadows look lovely however, for what they are. Very opaque, easy to work with no fuss and beautiful.
Is it just me or has everything from pmg gone up in price perr gram in her palettes? The smaller pans are just not giving me the original quality. They just look like any other brand now.
I actually think the all matte palette is very useful even though it’s not very exciting. An all shimmer/astral blitz palette would have been cool to go with it.

I won't be picking these up. I feel I already have these colors in her mothership palettes.According to some of the other creators, these palettes are not made in Italy like her mothership palettes.

The light shade in the all matte palette has no pigment completely dust. That palette is a rip off. It should of cost less.
it may seem that way to you and I respect you thoughts; however shades like that are needed and necessary in all matte palettes; they serve to "set" your eye primer and prep your eye for the shadows, brighten an eye look and or help blend or "down blend" a darker shadow or blend out other shadows ! it's in there because it serves a very important purpose ! finally you can also use those shades as inner corner or under brow bone highlights ❤💕 hope this helps !

These color stories are literally almost the exact same that Pat has done in the last few motherships. Pinky neutrals. The exact same. Always pink pink pink and more pink. The only difference is that she doesn't have the blitz astral shades and she never puts those types of shades in anything BUT a mothership. That said, these palettes are the most wearable useful thing I think Pat has put out recently. I haven't bought the last few motherships because I'm tired of the pink/rosey leaning tones of it. And I know the blitz astrals are what she's known for, but I feel like sometimes we don't want to have the over the moon sparkly glitter in our eye looks? Anyway just my thoughts.
