SKippy's Guillow's Spitfire T.IX 2 Seat Conversion - Part 4

- Just over year ago, I was very lucky to be given the opportunity to fly in a 2 seat spitfire operated by the Aerial Collective based at the famous fighter base of Duxford in the UK. This is a special Spitfire as it is a dual-control Spitfire T.IX and the one I flew in, and got to fly briefly, was Charlie, Charlie Alpha, 202 & ‘5R-H’.

It was amazing and I wanted to be able to fly it again, so what better way than to make my own!
Having previously built a Guillow's Spitfire (403 kit), I decided to take this same kit, but a laser cut version this time, and convert it as best I could to a Mk.IX 2 seater with it's different tail, elevators, exhaust manifolds and radiator coolers; and of course the second seat!
I am very happy with how she has turned out and hope that you enjoy this video and all of my earlier ones if you want to see how I got to this end result!

What a lovely job ! Thank you for the video! These conversions are so tricky to get to fly right. You do inspire others to try ! Bravo !just a thought, could you pre paint the print paper with the colour the decal will go on? Help with cutting out, dunno, just a random thought 😊😊
I know there are some that print everything on the tissue paper then apply it to the model, but that sounds pretty tricky to then line it all up; takes a special skill I reckon 😊
Thanks to you I just found out that water slide paper exists, I'm a USAF Vet flying mostly Guilows rubber jobs... I had a park flyer Cub once but never got to learn the RC mechanics... maybe one day you teach me over a few beers...? Cheers from Normandy! (I fly Typhoons r'ound here)
Glad I’ve been of use Sir. Worked with USAF and your other services many times! I’m in Sees, Normandie, now on holiday, no flying though as no space to bring them 🤞
