I feel that he just dropped for the mental pressure against islam. Someone who trades punches with Dustin Poirier who is a much better striker, getting knocked out with his guard down...
I think it has more to do with his chin deteriorating
Worst part is, when he jump kneed, he had no footing and if you watch it back, notice how his knees buckle because his feet hadn't even properly landed so they went out from under him. Had he not jumped first, he might have still gone down as it was a great shot but that just guaranteed it as he couldn't even brace himself while he was still securing his footing.
Though him not having his hands up was the reason he was dropped in all his defences islam was just the first to capitalize
He wasn't even that bad on the ground against islam but if he wants any chance in a rematch he needs to polish his striking
His striking defense is very suspect. Really needs to work on that. He gets dropped in all his fights, only difference was Makachev actually followed him to the ground
Charles was the last to believe he was the best in the world and now he will probably be the last to stop believing it. That's why he always comes out as the underdog on the odds and still is confident no matter who they put in front of him. I honestly don´t know if he is the best or not, but what matters is that HE believes it and it shows. A true inspiration.

Great video bro! This saturday i've got another upcoming Muay thai fight and this is my exact problem in training. I would sometimes freeze up under pressure during sparring. Literally everybody in my gym is telling me to stop doubting myself and that i would become the champ. I have been my own worst enemy for the longest time due to past experiences and inner demons. My biggest weakness is my own self-doubt.

I remember when a female friend of mine gave me a boost saying that she believed in me at the time. She went off to the military and I never saw her again. However, because of that boost I got into the best shape of my life at the time. I lost it because I started to believe that she was lying about a lot of things, especially to her boyfriend. You might not see this comment but this vid actually helped me a lot. When I first started my PhD program I had the mindset that I was still an undergrad and as a result I struggled in the first few weeks and thought that the coursework was too big of a burden to overcome as the level of difficulty of assignments was a large jump ahead and thought that everyone was much smarter than me. After a while I started changing those thoughts to that of not only am I a PhD student, but that I already have the PhD already and it helped me gain more confidence and as a result I have been consistently performing above average on exams. The results are reinforcing this new image of myself.
I read every comment, and I truly love hearing things like this. The intention of this channel is to try to distill information that that benefit people in whatever walk of life they choose. I'm happy to hear it has helped, and I'm proud of you for doin the damn thing on such a difficult path!

What a great video, I myself have written papers on the Pygmalion Effect and applied to my mentees. It's polar opposite, which you called negative bias, can also be called the golem effect. Which is the self-fulling prophecy that low expectations leads to low performance.
