The Honzo looks amazing and your content on the build was awesome, you have a great channel! I’m a huge fan of hardtail’s and gravel bikes. On my hardtail’s I also run all my bars 780mm with thin grips. My stems are 50mm, I tried 35 and 40 but maybe my frame’s just didn’t have enough reach. There size small and it just felt to compact. The one thing that I have also done is kept using the 31.8mm stems and bars, instead of 35. I’m only 160# and my bikes are small hardtail’s not big enduro bikes. So with that smaller bar I get some comfortable flex, especially nice on my rigid SS hardtail. Anyway I’m looking forward to your next Bike Sauce videos, I’m sure you’ll enjoy your Honzo ST 😎
That’s a beautiful build. I wouldn’t have guessed the purple accents would match that frame, but they are on point! Also, I have the Deore brakes. Would love to hear how you think they compare to SLX.
I'm not sure specifically about the RF dropper but many use a sealed cartridge that you can often find and cheaply replace. BUT sometimes they get hard to find and sometimes they can be a PITA to replace. V1 of the X Fusion Manic was difficult but subsequent versions were a lot easier. For that one, the cartridges are about $30-40 and last for at least a year, in my experience.
If anything 30mm(or even 27mm) would let you run lower pressure without having the light bulb effect with 2.6 tires one gets with 25mm. I've seen youtubers say min they would go with 2.5 is i29 so they can get the most out of the tire. Do you think you can also test out those wider TRP rotors? I hear they pair well with Shimano brakes.
A nice Hardtail can be a lot of fun. I only rode Hardtails for a few years and got so much faster and more confident. Now have 2 Hardtails and a Norco Shore as my main rides. Mainly ride OC with Occasional Troy Lee or Vail Lake.
How tall are you? I’m thinking about this bike and I’m 5’11 on a good day. I’ve ridden Surly hard tails in medium in the past and I think this is where I need to go with the ST. Thoughts? Appreciate it!
I'm biased (as an avid singlespeeder) but I just want more singlespeed content in the world so that people don't think I'm so crazy and are more likely to try it!
Hey bro, when do you normally ride that trail? I’m there often. I live in So Cal, I would like to meet you one day and ask you some questions and opinions in person, and maybe you can teach me how to freaking Manual..lol..
This video was so nice- super slick, extremely well-edited, extremely smooth and confident narration. You're a delight, Nolan!
Looks sick, I love it!
The main sacrifice with the skinnier rim paired with those tires is the profile. Your tires end up a bit square/flat, but some folks like that!
love this. building the same frame currently
have the same frame in black and absolutely love it, nice build 🤟🏾
Still loving that color scheme! Neat build Bro!
Cheers! Rad (reasonable) hardtail, I for one do enjoy the technical challenges that come with such a decision to shred underbiked.
Man thats a beautiful bike!

Verrrry nice. I really want to try one out.
Great video! Want to ask the frame size and your height? Planning to buy the same frame

👌looks like a playful ride👍🤔what stem an bar sizes are you running?
Thx Steve. 35mm stem 780mm bars
Would like to have heard more about how the bike rides. Especially as you have a vid talking about your build already.
Sounds like a video is in order
Have you done a video on the converting the Poseidon to SS or on the setup/experience? Or maybe something upcoming? Thanks!
Video is actually in the works. Not sure there’s be that much interest, but I have all the footage , so may as well

What trail is that? Looks fun.
This is just the standard Fullerton loop. We ride it often on Sat / sun mornings. Some midweek mornings if there’s time
#Floop🤘🏽🔥
Saucey.
😀
bro you need to turn up your vocals, all I hear is the tires and/or other biking audio, sick honzo though
