Oh god the looping music is driving me insane.
+Hanna-Justina Wallia Rosalind Sieglinde Marseille Your name is very short.
+Edward Bleau Too short, I think she needs more middle names really.
+Frank Spencer How does that fit on her driver's license.
MegaBlueT
I would imagine you would intial them. I have 10 middle names, but I only use one in reality.
Names are wierd...especially my family.
Should have done quill the eighteenth bastard
+Titan icsunk (Titanic) Quill XVIII
+Titan icsunk (Titanic) Ya beat me to it, his father, quite prolific.
What would have been smarter is Quill XVIII the awful..
+Colyde the forgetful, the absent-minded, the blind, so many applicable titles :P
+Omega Xicor (OmegXicor) no "the awful" doesn't mean what it does now what it means in the medieval era is "full of aww" aw in as he's great lol ... I figured someone would get it but I guess not ..
Looks a lot like a combo of Caesar, Pharaoh, Zeus, Emperor and settlers... I like the look of it
The range on that peddler tent though! My Pharaoh/Zeus/Emperor heart just skipped a beat.
"These Westernerners need 50 percent more food, guess they are Americans" - Quill18
I realy like when you grind wheat into flower instead of grinding it into flour ;). Thumb up.
Was this made by the same guys who made "Towns"? The infamous early access game that was completely abandoned by their devs. Because it looks exactly the same from the graphics perspective.
I remember watching Sips play Towns, wish they could finish the game.
No, it's not.
This reminds me so much of Pharaoh...! Which is a good thing. I used to love that game!
Seems a bit too similar for my taste. That game was good but I could just play that game instead.
5:26 Oooooo shots fired. "Grabs hamburger and AK-47 with grenade launching attachments" We head north!
Holy hell, that looping music! I keep hearing "Twinkle twinkle little star"
Time for a pillow party. Viva la revolucion!
It's also funny how people need booze before clothes. Talk about priorities.
But the wurst is yet to come.
+Jean~Luc Picard Well if you're drunk you tend to not worry much about trivial things like clothes and death. :p
+Jean~Luc Picard booze = bread + clean water. Definitely more important then clothes. (a lot of people forget that early beer was essentially liquid bread, until they started thinning it out into more of a dedicated drink item since you could sell lots of it that way, instead of it being very concentrated).
8:57-8:59 For a moment I thought you said: "So they start out with shit!"
Constructive criticism for the dev: make that goddamn bird chirp less.
More of this plz! love the functional graphics, not realistic like the latest caesar which was fking terrible btw but its clean and clear for planning out and can clearly see tiles and so on for city planning.
Look very much as Pharaoh. Love it !
Needs 50% more food
"I guess they're Americans"
Well played quill, well played.
this game reminds me a lot about the settlers games
we have Hearthstone and Stonehearth. Now we have Hearthlands. If logic follows i am really looking forward to Landshearth. Also when is HearthHearth coming out?
+SirGeeeO It's the new 'craft'.
I love stonehearth. It Is ne of my favorite city building games
MOAR OF THIS@! Love it!
This is so "Ceaser"-ey. Love it. Will be giving it a go. Thanks for the video, quill.
Awesome new game hope you have a lot more coverage it!
Reminds me on Zeus: Master of Olympos! It is exactly the same gameplay-mechanic.
Zeus is one of the best Citybuilder with a little bit of warefare game I've ever played!
+RandomAccount360 :D Nice discription, right? :D
But AoE has a other gameplay! Zeus is the same with the streets and the vendors for food etc.
With all those troll lairs you should had named the village Internet.
I think that the grower can work a turnip plot of 24 and a grain plot of 24 in one year, since they are planted and harvested during different months. Try it out!
wow this really is just a modern caesar/pharoh/zeus, right down to the design of the buildings. cool.
Well, it's no Banished.
game looks fun, but has been in early access for just over 2 years now, and at time of posting it's been 3 months since their last update, and 2 months from the one prior to that. be careful if you're thinking of investing into this one
This plays just like *Zeus*... (I don't mean that in any negative or positive connotation just an observation) but man that brings back some memories.
OH SNAP, Quill with the burn on americans at 5:27
Caesar III and pharaoh/cleopatra,srsly one of the most fun building games ever,i remember spending hours trying to get a few luxury palaces and lots of villas =D
btw you totally should do a Caesar III Lp =D
+Greenberet If you can get hold of "Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom", you should try that. IMO the best of the entire series.
+Griexxt A very wise choice oh noble administrator.
If you want to eat dragon meat you'll have to go out and get it yourself!
this is like the old game called Emperor by Sierra. houses, beauty (fung shui), warehouses, etc. my wife loved that game and asked me to install it again. this is a good replacement :)
this is like a better banished. i might have to pick this up.
+Brian Walsh II This game and Banished are two totally different styles of game. Comparing them isn't really fair.
You had me at City Building
I picked this game up myself. Would love to see a series done on it as it has some very cool mechanics.
i can't believe how old games like Zeus look better than this
this made me want play Zeus, Caesar 3 and Emperor rise of the middle kingdom again :D
1 mill was 24 loads, the bakery required 2 flour per 1 load, and its max was 24 loads, so two mills per 1 bakery.
QuillXVIII should be your player name in anything with a historical setting from now on ...
Ah this game, I remember this from like a year ago, by Dwiryn.
reminds me of the settler 2: the next generation, it was awesome
they need more food, "Maybe they are just americans.." Hahah apply cold water to the burned area please
Aww, poor Dungalg, the goblin thief.
Please play more of this.
Quill ville is making my OCD head a migraine.
If you liked this game Quill18 go check out Lethis Path of Progress its a much more true to the old Ceaser style games.
+PotatoMcWhiskey A little too true if you ask TotalBiscuit. Buildings collapsing is the thing that made me stop playing Pharaoh.
+Sentinalh I find that hilarious because stopping building collapses is literally the first thing you learn in the game and incredibly simple to prevent.
Well, maybe not literally the first, but its definitely covered in the first mission alongside water and placing houses.
It really is genuinely hilarious that the most basic mechanic of the game made you quit.
Its pretty cleary ceasar style games aren't for you.
I could understand if you quit because you found the game boring or repetitive, or didnt like how the flood planes or military system worked. But qutting because of buildings collapsing is like quitting a survival game because your character dies without food.
+Sentinalh TB couldn't play a city builder to save his life. He made so many basic mistakes because he refused to read the ingame tutorials.
Buildings collapsing really is a non issue.
PotatoMcWhiskey
No the reason I quit is because even when a building had a maintenance building literally RIGHT NEXT TO IT, it would still collapse. That seemed really cheap to me.
Sentinalh No it wouldn't.
The War of the Pillows!
I really like this type of game, but I'm really missing the strong thematic presence of Pharaoh, and the simplifications don't make up for the improved features. Not my cup of tea, but a good Let's Try video so I liked it anyway.
"I can hook you up with some boos" *scrolls over to ghosts*
Hey Quill, you should check out Timber and Stone when you get the chance, would love to see you do a let's play of that. :)
Quill. I'm not sure you needed the extra farm houses. Turnips and grain may grow during different months.
This is basically a cartoony-looking Caesar III clone.
as of the 10 minute mark, this game feels very, very strongly like Banished
Looks prettier and more fun than Life in Bunker.
Fun game! although most of the mechanics are taken from Emperor:Rise of the middle kingdom, an old Sierra game.
It's like Emperor: rise of the middle kingdom, but more cartoony hehe
So basically Zeus without military? That can work, still miss military option for some challenge though.
this is similar to knights and merchants with a bit of fantasy mixed in, i love knights and merchants, so this game needs a bit more to match it, but still, it works in a very similar way
Fun as these games were in the early 2000s they feel really outdated now, computers are capable of so much more complexity now that this level feels like just a game you could find on Facebook these days.
very nice, reminds me of Emperor: rotmk
damn, think I could like this game..looks interesting..
looks interesting, keep'm coming:)
So, it's fantasy Caesar?
Quill I'm a big fan I've been watching your videos for over a year and a half and I really appreciate your work
one question what are your religious views please respond it would mean a lot to me :)
You tried StoneHearth? similar to this, its in alpha and a bit buggy sometimes but it's really cool, you'd probably like it
it's a really cool game
it would be fun watching quill messing around with it :)
A lot of the mechanics in this game make me think of Caesar 3
you should watch a video and then hold space bar and then watch it with holding space bar(it becomes realy cool)
Reminds me more of "Knights and Merchants" than Ceasar.
This kinda reminds me of that other game. That had that in my opinion stupid blocker system. That had to block certain workers from using paths and so forth. But this is without the whole blocker system which is neat.
pigs are fed but poeple are starving. thats what happens when you cast your pearls before swine, or so Ive been told
Really wish this was called [Coming at ya like Cleopatra]
Also remind me of Emperor: The Rise of the Middle Kingdom
where can I buy it? I found a minecraft texture pack and a comedy series game thing but not the actual game
Chrono.gg, Its on sale RIGHT NOW :D
Rik ten Buuren thx
the gameplay remind me some of master of olympus
Alpha or not, I am just falling asleep dreaming about Settlers. Cmon what is this :)
You should've named the city Brussels (French City) (To the folks new to Quill's channel, Brussels being french is a channel joke)
the thing that bothers me most is the fact that you can't rotate buildings to face the roads. other than that this game is great! like banished with a bit more depth.
This remind so me of the game pharaoh
Hearthstone is also very nice.,.
I'm a month late but game looks kinda fun.
this game reminds me of age of Empires you know how the layout is of the map
Man this reminds me of Caesar 3
Quilville off the rails
Savage AF!
(sorry, everyone, for being "that" guy)
Why no link to buy the game? is it not out yet?
this is like Zeus: master of olympus
wood needed
is not good to set industry next to houses. put storage.
Man, I miss Ceasar II...
is this finally out of beta?
Alcohol to level up. Just like real life.
more plz
I love quill so much I really really do. But he talks so fast and gets so quiet it frustrates me sometimes.
more plx
Quill in this case the game means west Europeans
looks like towns.
reminds me of Zeus - Master of olympus
ghost and goblins lived there for centuries..americans move in, its murican land now!
farmville is that you?
Not even close.
"I guess they're just americans "
lmfao
Whats with all the games with Hearth in the name? Theres Stonehearth, Hearthlands, Hearthstone... jeez.
