Land on exotic Aven Prime, where you must construct and maintain the infrastructure and ensure the well-being of your citizens, all while dealing with the often harsh realities of an exotic alien world.
COLONIZE AN ALIEN WORLD
Build a new home for humanity on a world with a low-oxygen atmosphere, extreme electrical storms, shard storms, dust devils, deadly toxic gas eruptions from some of Aven Prime’s many geothermal vents ,and days so long they have their own seasons.
Explore a variety of biomes, from the lush wetlands environment to the much less habitable desert and arctic biomes.
MEET THE LOCALS
Encounter a variety of alien life forms, including giant sandworms, deadly plague spores, and a vicious fungal infection know as “The Creep.”
SUPERVISE YOUR COLONISTS
Settling a new world can be stressful. As a new colony governor, you’ll need to work overtime to help your colonists deal with their situation. Experience a full colony simulation with over a dozen morale factors. Set social policies to influence the behavior of your colony, hold referendum elections to prove to your colonists that you deserve to keep the job, and give your colonists adequate jobs, health care, entertainment, food quality, policing, and much more. As you earn the respect of your colonists, you can rise in rank from Colony Governor to Expedition President.
DISCOVER THE PAST
The world of Aven Prime holds many secrets. Play through a full single-player campaign and participate in a story that reveals some of the many secrets of this brave new world.
Alternatively, you can customize any mission in sandbox mode.
BUILD THE FUTURE
Use construction drones to build dozens of types of structures to house your colonists, grow food, store resources, manage air quality, mine ore, convert resources, perform research and manufacturing, and much more. Then, when you’re ready, enhance your existing buildings through several upgrade tiers.
Space "Conoly" Simulator without the mishmash in Anno 2205, and no UPlay. Sounds good to me :)

I think it's a great game and word of advice when building structures make sure to have lots of nanites.

By the way the look of the buildings are pretty cool, I like the mix of nature and artificial, very beautiful. (Very city of tomorrow design.) Though I do wonder how the residential towers can have garden spaces if there is no atmosphere, hehe. :)
Hi HeruKane -- it DOES have an atmosphere, it just has a lower oxygen ratio than on earth. So trying to breathe it would be like trying to breathe at the top of Everest, only slightly harder ;)
So the plants can grow fine since there's plenty of CO2, just not much O2 :)

Great game! I would probably buy it. Where can I get more information about the developers? And I assume the craters are filled with water. If you were to put a pump there, would the water eventually run out? I also ask the same regarding the minerals.

Yes, the craters are filled with water. You can't put pumps on the craters but you can put them near them. The water comes from the groundwater supply so it doesn't run out.
The mineral deposits are limited, though, and the amount of minerals in a deposit depends on the map settings as well as other factors, like the sandbox game options if you're playing a sandbox mission.

Will there be options of transportation? Because, unless you build apartments every step of the way, they may complain about the commute when you eventually expand. How far is too far for them?
Will there be an option to travel to other galaxies?

Looks good. I'm not buying unfinished games any more though, with only about a 50% success rate on the ones I've purchased ever getting finished. So, when it's out of beta, and everyone's moved on, I'll be looking for it.

This looks very pretty, I hope the game has more of a lateral scope as it appears to be a bit scripted so far. And a sandbox wouldn't really be fun if you have to play alone. It is very pretty though and I'm definitely looking forward to playing this.
The first couple of missions are "training" missions. They hold your hand and are not too difficult. But once you move on they get progressively harder and varied :-)

man this has a 2017 tba release thats just not fair, i need this sooner.
Calling it a cross between Anno 2205 (terrible tutorials and UI), Planetbase (bad UI, terrible AI, and no depth) and SimCity (terrible launch, always-on DRM, etc.) is kind of dooming it to fail. :-P
Hopefully it will be more like "Tropico in Space", with a UI -copied from- heavily inspired by Cities: Skylines.
I never did like Tropico ;-)
Biffa: Strategy, Survival & Indie Games - I'm not a huge fan of it myself, but it's a much more consistent game than the first two, and didn't have SimCity's technical issues.
Also, judging from the previews on CZcams, Aven Colony seems to play like a cross between Tropico and some of the earlier (less messy) Annos.

This seems like a very interesting spin on a city builder. I wonder if it'll do a better job at being a sci-fi city builder than Anno 2205. Regardless, this one looks promising and I rather enjoyed the video, Biffa. Lovely work!

Tactics potentially, conserve potash in winter, stockpile food in summer. Boosting 40% of nothing in winter if I read that correct, or of 50% normal, vs 40% increase of 100%. Double potash effectiveness if you only use it in summer?
farms don't work in winter, greenhouse work in winter with an 50% rate production of food

The term "sol" is used in astronomy to mean two things: a) the name of the star at the centre of the solar system (capitalised), or b) an abbreviation of "solar day" (ex., a "martian sol" is the length of time equivalent to a solar day on Mars (aprox. 24.7 hours)
So, unless this base is being built on a planet in our star system (i.e., the *solar* system), it doesn't make any sense to call each planet revolution "a sol". It just seems like a misguided attempt to sound "clever". Either use a generic term (like "day" or "year") or come up with something unique (like "rev"). Re-purposing an existing astronomical term and giving it a completely different meaning doesn't make much sense.
