From India to Finland - an emotional family reunion

- It's been two years since I last went home to Finland. It was something I have been looking forward to from a long time. So when we finally did sort out all the paper work and permissions, I was so excited to finally travel home. My husband Vinod had never met my side of the family. And baby Annika was born in Kerala and had seen my mom & sister only on video calls. I didn't even know how she would react to such a long journey and especially the weather. Going from +30C to -10C is never easy, even for adults. Added to all this was the uncertainty caused by the new variant of the virus! So much anxiety till the last moment. But it all ended well. I am finally with my family :)

@@animallover365m9 what do you mean by many Asian men's?? Majority of Asian or specifically Indian men's are family oriented and we are master's of taking care of our young one's and their education and upbringing.

They expect the wife, and if they have maids then the wife and maids have to do everything in the house... They don't do anything to help with the house or actual helping with the children.
Most hilarious part of the journey- Johanna frantically asking Vinod to press "2" on a lift button CLEARLY marked "2" and Vinod saying " What do I press?...everything is in Finnish !! "

Stumbled accross your channel and now I'm a, fan!! What a beautiful family you are, I have now watched all your videos, and you make me want to visit India, Vinod is a very lucky man to have found someone who embraces not only his country and culture, but his family too, you clearly love Vinods parents. Blending of cultures is so good, I myself have a forigen daughter in law who did the same as you, and moved to Ireland when she fell in love with my son, we adore her, and they now have 2 beautiful daughters. I'm so happy that you are in Finland, and I hope things go good with your Mom, I think beautiful Annika will help heal any old wounds, and you will all have a lovely time together, it's very important that children of mixed cultures, grow up knowing both sides of their culture and both families, you truly are a good person Johanna, Anneka is beautiful, I hope she grows up with your determination 😊😊 she looks very like her Daddy 😊 and Vinod is clearly besotted with his daughter.

What a lovely home coming. Brought tears to my eyes seeing you reunited with your family. After that long journey, the tedious wait in the early hours at the airport... Annika truly deserves a big kiss for remaining cheerful after all that.

This will be Annika's first Christmas in Finland. May it be the most memorable for her.
According to legend, isn't Korvatunturi in Finland where Joulupukki (as Santa is known to Finns or Suomi,) has his secret workshop ? Annika will absorb so many wondrous traditions and magical sights during her stay there.
What a complete change for Annika from the lush green foliage of tropical Kerala, to the ethereal snow bound beauty of the land of the midnight sun!! .

Really enjoyed the family Re-union at Finland. Could see the excitement of your Mom and Sis. Also the really cute fascination Annika had looking at your sister as she was helping dressing her up, intently observing her, but liking her. And then the really cute part of Annika getting dressed up like an Astronaut for the outside weather. That was the cutest part. Interesting to see how Dark it was so early in the morning. Nice Travel and Transition video from India to Finland.

Wow finally you anika and vinod visiting your family , must be exciting for you guys and your family to meet each other, it's always hard if you live abroad to visits families as frequently as you like, but it's important to , I learned the hard way when it was too late to redo what I took for granted , which was my mum I why I dont know ,maybe whenever I went home she was there with so much love and excitement to see me and me her despite her ageing as time went and so was I, and I got ill myself and had to leave my job working for the Holden and Ford car dealers , they kept begging me to come back but my health wouldn't allow it , therefore I couldn't afford to visit mum either then Covid had us in lock down for nearly two years or so and her health deteriorated too , then she got better and before anyone could tell she left us and this planet to where all the souls go, it's been 20 months now but the sadness of her loss and aches in the heart is still there , that's why they say no one could replace a mother and her place in ours hearts . Pls keep staying in touch and visit each other as often as you could , anika is cute and like a ray of sunshine with her cuteness, enjoy your stay in Finland and enjoy .ps you didn't say how long you're there for . So happy to see you guys meeting each other , much love .
I’m sorry to hear about your grief. I wish better times ahead for you! I can definitely say that i still take my mom for granted too, even though i’m very much trying to learn to show her my appreciation too after two years of covid and my dad suddenly passing away a few years ago. I’ve lived in constant fear that more family will die while i’m away in India… i went to therapy after my dad’s passing and am trying to make most out of my life to honour his memory. That helps me deal, and i know my family is super proud that i followed my heart abroad even if it keeps me far from them. Had Annika been a boy, she wouldve been named after my dad and grandpa!
Oh and we return to India only in January ☺️
