- It's been two years since I last went home to Finland. For baby Annika and my husband Vinod it was the very first time. This was also the first time they got to experience such cold winters and snow. I was worried whether Annika would be able to adapt to the climate, coming from +30°C in India to -10°C in Finland. Also, I badly needed a haircut so I got that done on the very first day of our stay here. I hope you enjoy this slow and silent vlog with my family.

This brings back a flood of memories of when I took my kids home for the first time. Your mom and sister reminds me of my mom and sister. The love was overflowing, the family was together and everything was well in the world. I'm glad you caught all this on video, you will look at them with fond memories in years to come. I think it can only be called our good fortune (and the marvel of today's technology) that we are able to share your journey from one end of India, i.e. Annika's birthplace, a small town/village in Kerala, to the other end of India, her Dad's village in Haryana. and then to the other side of the world, her Mom's town/village in Finland. All quite different cultures, but no big deal to be at home in all, in today's world.

Annika is very lucky to be able to spend time with Johanna's family. You can see the love and care that Johanna's mother and sister show towards Annika. How wonderful that Annika has a strong connection with her family in Finland and India. She is truly blessed.
Both families complement each other...both are loving, giving and share in the joy of little Annika and your union with Vinod. You are very blessed. Now to get them physically together!

This was just so heartwarming. The love of family is universal the same beyond all borders and I didn't need to understand Finnish to feel the joy and bonding between all of you. Its so nice to see Annika adapt so smoothly to her beautiful and pristine Finnish surroundings and grandma and aunt. 😊 She seems totally mesmerized by her aunt Nina 😍 Love love love the new hairdo 👌
What a beautiful video, I teared up watching your Moms love for you all, and how she prepared for Annikas visit ❤️ her love for you all is just so heartwarming to see, as a, Grandmother myself I know what that love feels like and sometimes the physical feeling of that love makes a Grandmother teary eyed, 🥰 your Mom is so lovely, and so is your sister Nina, she is clearly a very loving aunt to Annika. Lovely to see Annika being exposed to her Moms family and culture, and she seems so happy, good to see Vinod is enjoying it all too🥰 Johanna it must feel so good to be back in Finland again, 2 of my Grabdaughters have not seen their Grandparents for 2 year now, because of Covid, they're 10 & 7 year old now, I feel so sad for thier other Grandlparebts that they've lost those 2 years from their only Grandchildren lives, but hoping they'll get to travel next spring.

It is so visible that your mom waited for a long time to spend time with you all, especially Annika. It is quite sad that their visas were denied. I felt like hugging your mom, she is doing so many things to make sure you all (especially Vinod and Annika) are feeling comfortable and happy. Such a sweet lady

Correct me if I'm wrong.
1. After your father passed away your mother was living all by herself in her apartment.
2. You were gone for 2 years from your mother. With your sister, it was a case of being near her but also giving her the space.
3.All this meant that your mother had to deal with a certain element of loneliness
I can't claim to fully understand women, but I'm guessing the reason your Aiti is emotional is because the arrival of Annika ,Vinod and Yourself means that her once empty nest is full of her chirping birds, the house has come to life and suddenly sunshine has come into her life during a dark Winter.
Mama Bird is happy.Why shouldn't she be emotional?
Who wouldn't have a broken heart not being with her Daughter when she delivered her Granddaughter. I'm a Mum of Adult Children and lm crying like a Baby watching this, all the things she bought for Annikas arrival my heart just can't. You understand very well ❤
I think there being alone is quite natural...they r used to it I guess.
My parents actually divorced 10 years before my dad’s death. My mom has a long-term partner who lives 30min drive away. now that she has retired, they spend most of the time together 😊 and my mom sees my sister every week too, earlier my sister even lived next door to my mom! 😄 But of course it is a lonely feeling not being able to see your other child and her family for a very long time! Especially when it’s her only grandchild and she thought she’d never be Mummi 🤍

My mom only ever did this job, for over 40 years! Now she is saying that she’s been sleeping the exhaustion away ever since July! 😅 it’s a challenging but rewarding job
So adorable that your mom and sister had stocked up on things and gifts for little Annika and kinda sad that they had to wait this long for Annika to enjoy them. COVID really took a lot of joy away from many people's lives, but I'm glad you and Vinod found a way to be there with them and I hope you're staying there long enough for them to spend as much time with Annika as possible.

No matter what part of the country you are from..a mother’s love is unconditional and never ending. Your family is very sweet. Annika is so lucky. It’s going to break my heart when you guys go back to India. I had hard time saying goodbyes to my family when I took my daughter home. Such a lovely family , and they were so happy and eager to meet anika , that they made sure she had the things needed for her while there, even vinod is well adjusted in a such a short time , both house looks cosy and Beautiful. It was funny when vinod said its only below 6 degrees it's not so cold today lol, he should have been thanking his warm jacket for that lol. Can't wait to see Finland in summer with all that greenery, when you guys get back start saving again so you can go for longer visit in summer so you guys can travel other places ,I guess vinod would need visas though, we're lucky that we don't need visa for European holidays. I had to stop the vdo in between as I miss my family back in Canada..its been 4 yrs since I met them..my brothers kid is 5 yrs old now..watching him grow on vdo call is exciting as well makes me sad .as I cnt touch or play with him..so happy for u n ur family..♥️💓
