Fire Emblem Engage - How to Use Skirmishes to Level Up Lower-Level Units With Tiki

  • This uses the same method I use for "OP Money Anna" in another video. With a high enough Tiki bond you can still get a unit to solo skirmishes, once you've done "some" levelling, eg; in the arena which you can use after EVERY skirmish/training mission. Demonstrated here with Timerra in a base LV 7 class.
    I was in Chapter 15 when I did this so expect a potentially harder time doing it on VERY under-developed base class units in LATE chapters. This is recommended as an early-mid game farm. Also note that the title specifies "skirmishes". If you're on Maddening you should already ascertain the limitations of this by that implication.
    This solution is OK for raising the odd straggler but would be bond fragment-intensive trying to do it with ALL your units due to the emblem bonding it involves so I don't suggest being TOO dependent on it. I however did do it because I'd amassed plenty enough bond fragments to still have plenty left after raising 12 units.
    Success may vary per stage. Ideally use a lower-level one with adequate terrain cover. If MANY are targeting you, moving to a less targeted spot can help as can occupying a heal/avoid node or forcing enemies into a bottleneck. If in desperation, bring a more OP unit or two to assist (as little as required), that really helps! You could also try standing on an Avoid/HP regen tile.
    IGNORE the advice about HP/Luck +10 (unless you're raising Anna) unless you particularly want it! I've tested this on my entire active squad and don't need it. Just implement the above as appropriate. I successfully trained an Advanced LV 1 unit in a LV 16 skirmish though that was pretty extreme so I needed TWO strong assistance units to draw some fire away. You get to the point where you can just raise 2-3 units like this together instead of relying on your OP ones.
    DISCLAIMER: Recommended as a solution on NORMAL. Not tested on Hard but you may need clever planning of assistance units.

    What i personaly really hate about skirmishes is not that the enemy units are strong but that the whole map literally start moving..making it almost impossible sometimes depending on the map your on making it really hard for weaker units to get kills.

      I stumbled on the idea via the "Anna trick" (which I've also shown). It was working so well for her I thought I'd try it on all active units. Now I've just passed my more ultimate test of succeeding in levelling up my LV 1 Hortensia in a LV 16 mission though that takes some finesse, and probably some rewinding.
      The only downside is it does require bond crystal investment depending on how many units you're training.

      Right. The thing is you need to raise that SP before completing chapter 10 at which time he's unavailable until chapter 23. You could raise dexterity (I have Str/Dex +5 from the Three Houses trio) as that helps with dodging. Speed also helps with dodging + helps you attack twice in a row more.

    This is actually insane that you can do this. I just tested it with my basically, if not, base Celine against level 20 advanced units. I did this method obviously except with a little different setup. She was getting killed immediately so what I did was put two really good units beside her. I used my Alear and Anna since they're two of my units that are maxed out and that I put lifesphere++ on. And then I flew through the map. Level 1 to 20 in only a few minutes. I didnt even have enough sp to give her hp and luck 10 so theres that as well. Now my sp issue is fixed lol.

    • @KingX
      @KingX  Před rokem +1

      Yeah, that was the worst cases scenario for me. If a base LV 1 unit couldn't survive on their own I'd just throw in another unit - occasionally 2 and that would suffice until the unit grew strong enough to survive alone. Classes vary.

  • @zackfair6791
    @zackfair6791 Před rokem +6

    Good info. For some reason (i guess because i haven't messed with inherit skills stuff much) it didn't occur to me to inherit Lineage. It's been a real pain trying to get Lapis up to par with everyone else since she gets two shotted in skirmishes.
    I am hesitant to try the money method with Anna because i like doing team skirmishes, and if she gets too far ahead in lvl it will scale with her and the rest of my team will get destroyed.

    • @KingX
      @KingX  Před rokem +2

      I subsequently worked on Lapis myself. Now she's a tanky Wyvern Knight who can solo LV 16-18 skirmishes without batting an eyelid. Watching her go from being useless in the arena to suddenly winning was a sight to behold!

    • @zackfair6791
      @zackfair6791 Před rokem

      5:20 Sadly this didn't work for me. If i stay in one spot (i was in a fort) and let Lapis get surrounded she gets destroyed by chain attacks. I suppose i need to spend more time in the arena but the exp gain is so low there, especially since she tends to lose.
      I tried the skirmish once more except this time i brought two units to draw some aggro off her. She still got destroyed by chain attacks. I think Lapis is destined to forever remain useless and benched in my game because my patience for trying to level her up is wearing thin lol.

    • @KingX
      @KingX  Před rokem

      Check what I wrote in the Description. I've managed it with a LV 1 Advanced Hortensia with abysmal offense in a LV 16 skirmish. You probably just need a bit of finesse with assisting units to draw the right amount of fire away. I never needed more than 2 but you can always add more. If you still can't win then yes it's an issue of arena grinding.

    Something I'm not sure is intentional. Luck increases your dodge stat, which helps you dodge crits. Speed increases avoid, which lowers the opponents percentage to hit you. Was the intention to not get crit, or not get hit?

      A unit's initial Dodge is identical to their initial Luck, thus raising their Luck *will* raise their Dodge. For an in-video example check 0:17 where Timerra's Dodge = her Luck. By near the end of the video at 7:35 they have increased equally.
      Regarding the description you're referring to, no it doesn't give a proper breakdown. What it says is that Luck has "various effects" then lists 1 example which has to do with dodging anyway so I'm not sure where you think you're going with that.
